Wireless Body Area Networks have severe challenges in energy management to enhance the longevity of the system. Specifically, for a WBAN system that operates by ambient energy sources. The system combines energy scavenging modules integrated into the sensors carried by patients, enabling data transmission to a personal device. Our approach does not rely on previous information as the characteristics of the scavenged and consumed energy are stochastic. To optimize user utility, a formulation of an optimization problem by employing the Grey Wolf Optimization technique (GWO) compared to previous works that used different optimization techniques, to decompose it into three sub-problems: battery management, collecting rate control, and transmission power allocation. To achieve our goals, we apply the GWO to the introduced online resource allocation algorithm that serves two primary purposes: (1) balancing energy scavenging and consumption of network nodes to ensure system stability, and (2) maximizing user utility. Through simulation results, we validate the effectiveness and optimization capabilities of the algorithm while applying a different optimization technique from the previous works maintained.

This paper proposes a reduction in the dimensions of a square loop resonator via the utilization of fractal techniques. The 2nd order NP fractal model is investigated to minimize the dimensions of the square loop resonator. The suggested fractal resonator is indirectly fed via the coupling line encircling the resonator to enhance impedance matching. The suggested fractal resonator has a frequency response of 2.936 GHz, with |S11| and |S21| evaluated at -16.17 dB and -2.09 dB, respectively. The dimensions of the suggested fractal resonator are 10.5×10.5 mm2, representing a reduction of roughly 56.9% compared to the square loop resonator. Consequently, the suggested fractal resonator may serve as a sensor for the measuring instrument. © 2025 IEEE.

A rectangular microstrip patch antenna (RMPA) is designed and analyzed in this paper. FR-4 is used as a substrate material, whose dielectric permittivity is 4.3. This antenna is designed and simulated using CST software. Return loss, VSWR, directive gain, and bandwidth are obtained from the given simulation. The results after simulation are return loss, VSWR, directive gain, and bandwidth of -55.7 dB, 1.0032, 6.81 dBi, and 110 MHz, respectively. The main objective of that paper was to increase return loss, bring the VSWR closer to 1, and increase directive gain. This antenna can be used in radars, mobile phones, and wireless LAN applications. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents the design of an artificial neural network (ANN) and proportional integral derivative (PID) controller using particle swarm optimization (PSO) for Boeing 747-400 aircraft pitch control (APC). The combinations of disturbance, open loop unstable and nonlinear dynamics are major problems in a Boeing 747-400 commercial aircraft. This paper investigates the control mechanism of pitch angle control of Boeing 747-400 with small disturbance theory linearization methods and ANN based non-linear controllers. A PID controller is tuned by PSO, whereas the PID is tuned by graphical user interface (GUI) when compared with an ANN controller. The controller for this system was designed using an ANN controller and PID tuned using a recent optimization technique such as the PSO method with integral square error (ISE) as an objective function. A comparative study of the time domain performances of the pitch control of the Boeing 747-400 commercial aircraft was presented. The ANN controller outperformed the PID-PSO and PID-GUI controllers in terms of system performance, including rising time (tr), settling time (ts), percentage overshoot (percent OS), and steady state error, across various elevator deflection angles. Basically, the percentage overshoot and steady state error were 0% and 0 respectively, indicating that the ANN controller achieved an improvement of 100%. Various parameters were compared with the PID-GUI, PID-PSO, and ANN controllers for pitch control of the Boeing 747-400 air craft. The ANN controller architecture comprises of two input neurons, two hidden layer neurons, and one output layer neuron. The simulation was performed using Matlab/Simulink. The results show that the PID-PSO controller was improved by the ANN controller and the performance specifications of the aircraft obtained by the ANN controller were satisfactory. © 2024 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Indoor positioning systems are receiving much attention due to their practical applications in our daily lives. WiFi Fingerprinting is the technique that is commonly used for indoor positioning due to its utilization of the WiFi infrastructure which is ubiquitously deployed in modern buildings. However, this technique suffers from the computational burden when determining the user's position in big areas that consist of lots of fingerprints and reference points. To reduce the search space as well as computing time, the clustering algorithm can be applied. In this paper, we evaluate the efficacy of k-means clustering in the WiFi Fingerprinting-based positioning system. Moreover, k-means clustering with outlier removal is applied in several public datasets, in which the WiFi data was collected in different environmental conditions, to show how much the clustering algorithm can help in reducing the computing time as well as improving the positioning accuracy. From the experimental results, compared to popular deterministic-based algorithms, the clustering algorithm can significantly reduce the computing time by up to 79.07%. Nevertheless, it cannot surpass the positioning accuracy of the compared algorithms. © 2023 ACM.

This paper introduces a refined version of the Moth Flame Optimization (MFO) algorithm, Superiority of Feasible Solutions-Moth Flame Optimization (SF-MFO), in recognition of the significant influence of renewable energy on both production costs and secretion reduction in energy structure. To improve the symmetry among scrutiny and fleecing also to resolve the limitations of the early MFO, SF-MFO implements two significant enhancements. The algorithm's objective is to reduce emissions and optimize production costs by utilizing renewable energy sources, resulting in a combined reduction in both. Its primary intention is to decrease the total operating expense of the production system, as well as to address active power loss, voltage deviations at load buses, and the cost and emissions of combined units. The SF-MFO is analyse on IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 118-bus structure by transforming this multi-objective problem into a single-objective function with specific constraints and utilizing a bus location index to refine the list of candidate buses. The effectiveness and benefits of the suggested SF-MFO are then highlighted by contrasting the outcomes with those of other published algorithms.

Email spam detection is crucial for ensuring a positive user experience and maintaining communication security. This study presents a novel spam detection approach leveraging Logistic Regression, optimized through hyperparameter tuning and enhanced with Explainable Artificial Intelligence. The proposed method is evaluated on a large-scale dataset of emails collected from a real-world spam detection system. Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency is utilized for feature extraction, converting email text into numerical representations. XAI introduces interpretability by highlighting critical features such as "pill," "PHP," and "Businessweek," which indicate spam classification patterns. Metrics such as precision, recall, and the confusion matrix are employed to assess the model’s performance, ensuring a balanced evaluation. Hyperparameter optimization using Grid Search CV achieves an optimal regularization parameter (C = 100) and maximum iterations (maxiter=100), resulting in an impressive F1 score of 98.76%, accuracy of 98.82%, precision of 98.62%, and recall of 98.90%.

One of the most popular chemical tests for power transformer incipient faults detection is the dissolved gas analysis (DGA). This study presents a new DGA approach for transformer fault interpretation with increased accuracy. The suggested approach is constructed based on the combination of the outputs of the two recently developed DGA techniques;1) conditional probability and 2) artificial neural network, with two scenarios. These scenarios based on the diagnosis of the same techniques;artificial neural network (ANN) and Conditional probability techniques but with different procedures. This presented approach improved the overall accuracy compared with the existing DGA techniques. The positive feature of the proposed approach is proven by using 240 datasets received from the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) with known faults. The proposed approach concluded that the integration between different DGA techniques with various fault accuracy improves the overall accuracy of fault detection. The suggested fault diagnosis approach, with the two scenarios, exhibited higher accuracy compared to both ANN and conditional probability technique. Also, 42 samples have been used as testing samples for validating the proposed DGA approach, which result in its superiority compared to ANN and conditional probability technique. © 2022 IEEE.

Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) has been widely used in the Internet of Things (IoT) as a promising hardware security primitive. In recent years, PUFs based on resistive random access memory (RRAM) have demonstrated excellent reliability and integration density. Most previous designs store PUF keys directly in RRAMs, increasing vulnerability to attacks. This paper proposes a dual-mode RRAM PUF, named differential mode and flexible mode, utilizing the difference in switching capability between RRAMs during parallel SET operations as the entropy source. The proposed PUF can reliably reproduce keys between cycles, so a key concealment scheme is used to protect PUF keys from being continuously exposed, improving the security of the RRAM PUF. The proposed RRAM PUF exhibits high reliability over ± 10% VDD and a wide temperature range from -25°C to 125°C through post-processing operations. The flexible mode can generate a significant number of keys for high-security applications. Since the PUF keys can be concealed, the proposed PUF is compatible with in-memory computing. It can be implemented using the same RRAM array as experimentally validated using a MAGIC operation, thus reducing the hardware overhead. © 2025 IEEE.

This letter proposes a high-gain omnidirectional antenna with dual-band for WiFi-5/WiFi -6 applications. The antenna is basically comprised of several slotted semi-circular radiation patches, L-shaped branch structure patches and coaxial feed sources. Here, symmetrical rectangular slots are used to increase impedance matching. The planar size of antenna is 12×35 mm2, which is much smaller than other dual-band WIFI antennas.
