Research on adaptive filtering method for electrostatic signals

The signal will be inevitably mixed with various types of noise in the process of transmission, which causes the distortion of information in different degree, in order to obtain accurate information, it’s an important work to suppress random noise in the digital signal processing system. This paper mainly studies the adaptive filtering method, using LMS algorithm in adaptive filter (Least mean square LMS algorithm), when the filter starts reading the electrostatic signal, it also can estimate the statistical characteristics of electrostatic signal, adaptive adjust its filter parameters, filtering the electrostatic signal on time, attain the maximum noise suppression, to avoid distortion of information, and to achieve optimal filtering.

Future Air Traffic Management (ATM) demands that flights to be more efficient while maintaining safety and improving flight predictability. Two major research groups Single European Sky (SESAR) and Next Generation Air Transportation system (NEXTGEN) are progressively researching on the concept of 4D trajectory management which aims to improve flight efficiency by integrating time into the 3D trajectory. Therefore the implementation of time-space based flight guidance controller will be investigated in this paper. Firstly, the reference tracking error equations with respect to the spatial variable is defined and later transformed into a reference tracking error with respect to time. Using nonlinear dynamic inversion, the control law is established to make the aircraft accurately follow 3D+T desired trajectories. A simulation is performed to explore the feasibility of the proposed guidance control law and it was found that the proposed guidance control law is able to accurately follow a 3D+T reference trajectory at the same time follow the overfly time constraint. © 2016 IEEE.

—We investigate the scalable image classification problem with a large number of categories. Hierarchical visual data structures are helpful for improving the efficiency and performance of large-scale multi-class classification. We propose a novel image classification method based on learning hierarchical inter-class structures. Specifically, we first design a fast algorithm to compute the similarity metric between categories, based on which a visual tree is constructed by hierarchical spectral clustering. Using the learned visual tree, a test sample label is efficiently predicted by searching for the best path over the entire tree. The proposed method is extensively evaluated on the ILSVRC2010 and Caltech 256 benchmark datasets. Experimental results show that our method obtains significantly better category hierarchies than other state-of-the-art visual tree-based methods and, therefore, much more accurate classification. LQR controller is the most popular technique that provides an optimal control law for linear systems among the state space feedback control strategies. However, the conventional LQR controller synthesis is unfortunately an iterative process due to the trial and error approach involved in determining the parameters values of the weighing matrices Q and R. Here, the Big Bang-Big Crunch (BB-BC) optimization algorithm is used that optimizes a time domain fitness function in the design of the state feedback optimal control law and thus avoiding the repeated adjustment process of LQR parameters. In this study, a special performance fitness function that is inversely proportional to the certain time domain step response criteria of a dynamical system is proposed for the optimization procedure. In order to test the performance of the proposed method, firstly a simulation study is done within the MATLAB to stabilize an inverted pendulum on cart. Then, the proposed controller is used in a real time implementation to stabilize a DC-DC boost converter benchmark in the lab. Both MAT-LAB simulations and laboratory experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

In the paper, the NMF-based (non-negative matrix factorization) face recognition system is considered. An error rate made by such a system depends on the hyperparameters (for example, sparsity, a number of NMF components) which are usually determined experimentally. Typically, a large number of combinations of the hyperparameters is evaluated. Each evaluation involves substantial computational time. Recently, automatic procedures for tuning the hyperparameters have achieved a considerable success. They give a possibility to reduce a number of the system evaluations. In our study, we applied this approach to the NMF-based face recognition system. The results show that such tools can substantially reduce an overall computational complexity in comparison to random grid searching. They can also provide reliable information about the importance of the hyperparameters and their interactions.

Within the Semantic Web field, Linked Data is an emerging technology offering advantages in terms of flexibility and openness also for industrial environments. It provides a powerful information model with simple extension mechanisms and a cross-domain character, which makes it possible to span flexible information spaces across enterprise boundaries. Thus, it is able to represent all facets of a digital plant, like devices and processes. Although developed with the focus on static data, it is also capable of handling dynamic data if the latter is adapted appropriately. This article describes these requirements and presents a concept for integrating process data into the Linked Data information space. A separation between a semantic description of the access to process data and the service providing exactly this information allows efficient and integration-ready access to data. The necessary vocabulary is described as well as the information model. A prototypical implementation of OPC UA integration into Linked Data is presented. The article further discusses the current status of the approach and provides future research challenges.

In this paper, the effect of the slope on the locomotion of a spherical mobile robot named RollRoller is investigated under simulation. We analyze the robot motion up to 30 degrees of the slope inclination. The analysis is conducted for different conditions depending on the torque input and algorithmic motion planning. Oak fiber is chosen as the material of the inclined surface material, and the spherical shell of the robot is made of plastic. It is shown that RollRoller can move in different physical manners. As the velocity of the driving mass (the core) increases, certain series of jumping impulses take place because of predominant angular momentum. This pattern can support the motion of the sphere with accelerating climb in vertical axis. However, algorithmic-base position control of the RollRoller can prevent certain circular jumping impulses.

In this paper, a dynamic co-evolution compact genetic algorithm (DCCGA) is proposed for flexible flow shop scheduling problem (FFSP) to minimize the total earliness and tardiness (E/T) penalties. In this new algorithm, a dynamic co-evolution mechanism containing two probabilistic models and a best individual inheritance strategy are integrated into the compact genetic algorithm (CGA). For improving the stability of the evolutionary trend in the evolution processes, the diversity of evolution trend and the convergence speed. Lastly, the experimental results show that, DCCGA outperforms CGA by 11.74% on the problem we study. © 2015

In this paper, we propose an approach based on the use of artificial fish swarm algorithm (AFSA) for solving the problem of multicast routing on application layer. Taking delay, stretch, and degree as three optimization objectives, we design the behaviors of artificial fish individual (AF), i.e. moving randomly, preying, following, and use Pareto ranking to evaluate the fitness of AF. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is an appropriate method to explore the search space of the complex problem and leads to good solutions in a reasonable amount of time.
