The main objective of this paper is to perform a robust controller design using discrete-time sliding mode control (DSMC). In the control scheme, two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) control strategy turns the DSMC, which generally utilized state feedback into output feedback controller. The designed control scheme is considered with feedback and feedforward combination by implementing the zero phase error tracking control (ZPETC), which particularly intended for the nonminimum phase electro-hydraulic actuator (EHA) system application. In the experimental works, a sinusoidal trajectory with different frequencies is employed to assess the DSMC performance under nonlinear and uncertain condition. Experimental results show the DMSC with perfect tracking control approach is capable to reduce the phase lag occurred due to nonlinear phenomenon. The proposed controller also is highly robust under various points of trajectories and significantly shows enhancement in tracking control performance as compared to the conventional controllers.

A problem of optimal design of a filter for heart rate variability analysis is considered in this paper. Multistage, multirate structure is designed to implement ECG-signal processing with minimum computations. The number of stages and decimation factors at each stage are calculated. It is shown that optimal design of a filter allows significant processing time reduction to be achieved.

In the paper an impact of the calculations dispersion level in a power system on the estimation quality has been presented. The dispersion level has been changed from the smallest (calculations for the whole system) to the largest (individual calculations in each node of the system). The obtained results have been compared with the estimation quality of dispersed case of extended Kalman filter. Based on the performed simulation it has been concluded that the dispersion has positive influence on the estimation quality of dispersed particle filter method, but only to a certain level, i.e. in case of power system division into very small parts, unsatisfactory results have been obtained.

The paper deals with a modelling of the energy consumption of industrial articulated robots. The proposed modelling way is based on graphically-oriented computer-aided concept that exploits CAD software Solidworks and simulation environment MATLAB/Simulink with SimMechanics and SimPowerSystems libraries. These software tools are used for the composition of a dynamical simulation model that represents both mechanical robot structure and robot drives during robot motions. The paper addresses mathematical analysis and interpretation of the considered simulation model. Here, equations of the motion for the mechanical robot structure and appropriate dynamical equations of the robot drives are introduced. Using these equations, the energy consumption equation is defined. The proposed way is demonstrated by simulation experiments for several different velocities of the robot motion along a selected trajectory. For the experiments, industrial articulated robot KUKA KR 5 arc driven by PMSM drives is considered.

This paper investigates the finite-time tracking control problem for rigid manipulator systems. The proposed controller is based on adding a power integrator technique, which guarantees global finite-time convergence of tracking errors. Compared with the backstepping control scheme, the proposed control scheme provides a faster convergence rate for the tracking error system. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Introducing a non-linear transformation that describe error dynamics feedback stability is proven by using Lyapunov argumentation.
