The vehicle handling and stability can be enhanced with direct yaw moment control (DYC). In this paper, a sliding mode controller (SMC) with genetic algorithm optimization is proposed for the yaw moment control. A single track vehicle model with nonlinear tire forces is utilized for the controller design. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is compared to conventional sliding mode controller by co-simulations in CarSim and Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results of a step steer maneuvers shows that the proposed controller give better performance in tracking the desired yaw rate and control other necessary response for the vehicle handling and stability. In addition, the chattering phenomenon is also reduced, giving a smooth tracking trajectory.

In this paper, two optimization techniques of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Firefly Algorithm (FA) is used to obtain the optimal PID control parameters. To represent the model of the system, system identification with ARX model structure is developed. The results are determined by analysis the step response characteristic of the system. It was observed that the performances of PID controller with PSO optimized parameters perform well in position tracking of the pneumatic actuator system.

The current situation of environmental resources requires their efficient usage through efficient process control. But, process control can not be achieved without an essential component: the communication between all devices, such as sensors, controllers, actuators, programming stations etc. The aim is to achieve the irrigation process of plants in greenhouse conditions. Therefore, it is submitted a comprehensive application that proposes to be a distributed control system including data acquisition and processing, both local and remote monitoring of the process parameters. The distributed system is based on modern equipment: Siemens Simatic PLCs and HMI, Memsic e̅Ko Pro wireless sensors network, level sensors for irrigation tanks and actuators such as on/off valves and pumps. In terms of communication between equipments, an industrial bus and protocols were used - Profinet and wireless communication. The software part is provided by TIA Portal with STEP 7 and WinCC flexible RT and LOGO! Soft Comfort for programming the automation devices. ModbusTCP was used to develop the communication protocol between central devices.

In this paper we propose a stability augmentation system for a quadrotor, enabling direct rate control for a human pilot. Our system includes feedforward for rate control, feedback for disturbance attenuation, and an online optimization technique for handling input restrictions. We show that the proposed algorithms are able to stabilize the system under highly challenging flight conditions, such as wind gusts and fast manual descend. Our input restriction technique ensures that the revolution speeds for the desired torques are feasible. The complete control system is analyzed using MATLAB, and full experimental validation is provided based on a quadrotor prototype.

With a fast growing of wind power installed capacity, an efficient monitoring system for wind energy conversion system (WEC) is required to ensure operational reliability, high availability of energy production and at the same time reduce operating and maintenance costs. In this paper, an efficient, scaleable data-driven on-line WEC monitoring method is introduced, which consists of three parts: 1) off-line training process 2) on-line monitoring phase 3) on-line diagnosis phase. The performance and effectiveness of this method for the detection of process abnormalities are demonstrated using the data obtained from different wind turbines in a wind farm.

This paper introduced the basic principle and mathematical model of stochastic resonance(SR). For the deficiency of the traditional adaptive SR is that only a single parameter can be optimized while the other parameters in the system being fixed. This paper presents a new adaptive SR, It based on PSO, which realizes multi-parameter synchronous optimization. This method reserve the synergistic effect between one structure parameter and another. It determine the signal-noise-ratio of the output of the system as the fitness function of genetic algorithm and it can quickly select the adaptive multi-parameters in SR system. As a result, weak periodical components in orignal signals are sufficiently detected. The experimental result shows that this method has some advantages, such as simple algorithms,good rapidity high accuracy and fine applicability.
