The capacity to get additional patient data, including clinical, behavioral, and self-monitored data, has enhanced by the expanding usage of wearable technology. Large volumes of previously unobtainable data are now available, providing a chance to create new instruments with sophisticated analysis and decision support systems for application in clinical settings. Additionally, it gives patients additional options by arming them with personalized decision-support resources and information, enabling them to take charge of their own health care while maintaining their sense of autonomy. Especially well-suited for miniaturization and integration into microfluidic devices are biosensors with electrochemical sensors. Applications cover activities in the domains of diagnostics, food and environmental control, and the identification of complete cells, the parts of cells, proteins, and tiny compounds. Microfluidic technologies can be as basic as sample transport tubes or as sophisticated as platforms with extra components for sample preparation and sensing electrode integration. The kind of detection, application, and sample material all influence the microfluidics design. The next issue for the healthcare industry will be how to use newly acquired information in a way that benefits patients, healthcare organizations, and professionals all while reducing costs and workloads. Given the current limitations, the challenge for wearable technology designers is to provide solutions that healthcare practitioners can readily integrate and use. © 2024 IEEE.

Sentiment analysis, the meta field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), attempts to analyze and identify thesentiments in the opinionated text data. People share their judgments, reactions, and feedback on the internetusing various languages. Urdu is one of them, and it is frequently used worldwide. Urdu-speaking people prefer tocommunicate on social media in Roman Urdu (RU), an English scripting style with the Urdu language *** have developed versatile lexical resources for features-rich comprehensive languages, but limitedlinguistic resources are available to facilitate the sentiment classification of Roman Urdu. This effort encompassesextracting subjective expressions in Roman Urdu and determining the implied opinionated text polarity. Theprimary sources of the dataset are Daraz (an e-commerce platform), Google Maps, and the manual effort. Thecontributions of this study include a Bilingual Roman Urdu Language Detector (BRULD) and a Roman UrduSpelling Checker (RUSC). These integrated modules accept the user input, detect the text language, correct thespellings, categorize the sentiments, and return the input sentence’s orientation with a sentiment intensity *** developed system gains strength with each input experience gradually. The results show that the languagedetector gives an accuracy of 97.1% on a close domain dataset, with an overall sentiment classification accuracy of94.3%.

The design of wireless mobile devices of the next generation 5G promises to address the demands of complex IOT designs in terms of connectivity technologies. A new era of communication has begun with the introduction of 5G technology, which promises unheard of velocity, low latency, and enormous capacity. The significant effects of 5G on the operation and efficiency of connected Internet of Things (IoT) gadgets are examined in this research. IoT devices stand to gain from improved communication capabilities as 5G networks proliferate, opening the door for creative applications in a variety of industries. The first section of the article gives a summary of the main characteristics of 5G technology, highlighting how it has the potential to completely change how Internet of Things devices interact and communicate. Real-time data transfer is made possible by 5G networks far lower latency and higher capacity, which open up possibilities for faster and smooth interactions between IoT *** report also explores how 5G may affect how much electricity Internet of Things devices use. 5G has the ability to solve a long-standing issue in the IoT ecosystem by extending the life of the batteries of IoT devices with the adoption of cost-effective communication protocols and increased network efficiency. The selection of the appropriate curve type of overcurrent relay function is significant for achieving optimal coordination of overcurrent protection in distribution networks. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the overcurrent relays performance regarding their different inverse time-current curve types. Additionally, different fault locations were taken into consideration. To investigate the impact of curve types on overcurrent relays coordination, we employed a uniform curve type for all overcurrent relays in two representative power systems. The results, encompassing three standardized IEC curve types, are presented, and analyzed to illustrate the efficacy of our proposed approach. Therefore, this study underscores the critical role that curve type selection has in determining the feasibility of attaining reasonably low overcurrent relay trip times. © 2024 IEEE.

What Motivate Students to Continue Using Online Collaborative Tools: Post-Acceptance of Information System Approach

This paper aims to understand what motivates students at universities in Indonesia to continue using Online Collaborative Tools (OCTs) for their collaboration work. Utilising OCTs is crucial as the COVID-19 pandemic hit us in 2019 and forced all of us, particularly those who studied at university, to work online as precautionary measures. This research employs the Post-Acceptance Model of Information Systems (IS) approach to understand this issue. For an OCT to continue use, performance: effectivity, efficiency, and certainty is the key determinant, and perceived usability: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived enjoyment mediates confirmation and satisfaction and the intention to continue use. A total of 354 participants are involved in the data analysis employing Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Our results revealed that while the relationship between confirmation and satisfaction is partially mediated by perceived ease of use and enjoyment, the relationship between confirmation and intention to continue use is also partially mediated by perceived usefulness and enjoyment, and satisfaction. We found that the intention to continue using the OCT can be determined by 67.9% (substantial) of the variance of the model. Our research contributes theoretically to the IS research in this context and practically to the OCT discourse. American Sign Language (ASL) recognition aims to recognize hand gestures, and it is a crucial solution to communicating between the deaf community and hearing people. However, existing sign language recognition algorithms still have some drawbacks, such as difficulty recognizing hand movements and low recognition accuracy for most sign language recognition. A Modified Convolutional Neural Network (MCNN) deep residual 101 classifier-based American Sign Language identification system has been developed to address this problem. There are three main parts presents in the method. The first part is pre-processing the images to remove the noise, enhance the contrast of the picture, adjust the contrast level and smoothen the picture using various filters. The second part is the segmentation, and it’s used to partition the image using a modified canny edge detection method by removing all weak edges present in the image. Finally, classification will be done using the Modified CNN deep residual 101 classifiers. By classifying the image, the American Sign Language is accurately identified. This process is conducted through images. The outcome shows that the suggested approach has a 0.97% accuracy and a 0.05% False Positive Rate. Other CNN architectures such as resNet 50 and resNet 18 reached 0.90% and 0.80% accuracy, respectively, which is lower than our proposed method. In addition, the resNet 101 classifier effectively recognizes the difficult hand gestures through the image data. It obtains high recognition accuracy for 36 signs is 0 to 9 numbers and a to z alphabets from American Sign Language. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Nash Equilibria in Reverse Temporal Voronoi Games

We study Voronoi games on temporal graphs as introduced by Boehmer et al. (IJCAI ’21) where two players each select a vertex in a temporal graph with the goal of reaching the other vertices earlier than the other player. In this work, we consider the reverse temporal Voronoi game, that is, a player wants to maximize the number of vertices reaching her earlier than the other player. Since temporal distances in temporal graphs are not symmetric in general, this yields a different game. We investigate the difference between the two games with respect to the existence of Nash equilibria in various temporal graph classes including temporal trees, cycles, grids, cliques and split graphs. Our extensive results show that the two games indeed behave quite differently depending on the considered temporal graph class. © 2024, Brown University. All rights reserved.
