TG-Net:A Physically Interpretable Deep Learning Forecasting Model for Thunderstorm Gusts

Thunderstorm gusts are a common and hazardous type of severe convective weather,characterized by a small spatial scale,short duration,and significant destructive *** often lead to severe disasters,highlighting the critical importance of their accurate *** studies have explored the environmental factors and spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of thunderstorm gusts,highlighting the need for improved forecasting *** recent years,artificial intelligence techniques have shown promise in enhancing the accuracy of thunderstorm gust forecasting,with various machine learning algorithms and models having been *** paper proposes a multiscale feature fusion module called Thunderstorm Gusts Block(TG-Block)and a deep learning model named Thunderstorm Gusts net(TG-net)based on the Attention U-net and TG-TransUnet models,and employs interpretable methods such as Integrated Gradient,Deep Learning Importance Features,and Shapley Additive exPlanations to validate the model’s practical relevance and *** analysis of feature importance underscores the model’s ability to capture key thermodynamic and multiscale weather characteristic information for thunderstorm gust *** is,however,worth emphasizing that these conclusions are only based on a limited number of thunderstorm gust examples,and the evaluation results may be affected by specific weather types and sample ***,TG-net has been put into real-time operation at the Institute of Urban Meteorology,and we will continue to rigorously validate its performance and make any necessary optimizations and enhancements based on feedback to ensure the robustness and stability of the model.

Polychlorinated naphthalenes(PCNs)are detrimental to human health and the *** the commercial production of PCNs banned,unintentional releases have emerged as a significant environmental ***,relevant information is still *** this study,provincial emissions for eight PCNs homologues from 37 sources in the Chinese mainland during the period of 1960-2019 were estimated based on a source-specific and time-varying emission factor *** results showed that the total PCNs emissions in 2019 reached 757.0 kg with Hebei ranked at the top among all the provinces and iron&steel industry as the biggest ***-chlorinated PCNs comprised 90%of emissions by mass,while highly chlorinated PCNs dominated in terms of toxicity,highlighting divergent priorities for mitigating emissions and safeguarding human *** emissions showed an overall upward trend from 1960 to 2019 driven by emission increase from iron&steel industry in terms of source,and from North China and East China in terms of geographic ***-capita emissions followed an inverted U-shaped environmental Kuznets curvewhile emission intensities decreased with increasing per-capita Gross Domestic Product(GDP)following a nearly linear pattern when log-transformed.

The growing need for sustainable energy solutions,driven by rising energy shortages,environmental concerns,and the depletion of conventional energy sources,has led to a significant focus on renewable *** energy,among the various renewable sources,is particularly appealing due to its abundant ***,the efficiency of commercial solar photovoltaic(PV)modules is hindered by several factors,notably their conversion efficiency,which averages around 19%.This efficiency can further decline to 10%–16%due to temperature increases during peak sunlight *** study investigates the cooling of PV modules by applying water to their front surface through Computational fluid dynamics(CFD).The study aimed to determine the optimal conditions for cooling the PV module by analyzing the interplay between water film thickness,Reynolds number,and their effects on temperature reduction and heat *** CFD analysis revealed that the most effective cooling condition occurred with a 5 mm thick water film and a Reynolds number of *** specific parameters were found to maximize the heat transfer and temperature reduction *** finding is crucial for the development of practical and efficient cooling systems for PV modules,potentially leading to improved performance and longevity of solar *** cooling fluids or advanced cooling techniques that might offer even better efficiency or practical benefits.

Leveraging seawater toilet flushing system in Hong Kong,China,a Seawater-based Urine Phosphorus Recovery(SUPR)process that integrates ureolysis and phosphorus(P)recovery was proposed in our earlier *** this study,a thermodynamic model was applied to evaluate the effects of ureolysis and the seawater-to-urine mixing ratio(S/U ratio)on P precipitation in the SUPR *** results suggested that effective P recovery was thermodynamically feasible across a wide range of S/U ratios,with elevated pH levels resulting from ureolysis being critical for P ***,a SUPR reactor was developed to validate this *** the hydraulic retention time(HRT)exceeded 3 h and the S/U ratio was lower than 3:1,more than 98%of P could be recovered without urine storage,chemical dosage,or external *** decrease in the HRT and increase in S/U ratio caused flushing out of fine precipitates,resulting in a relatively low P recovery ***,this could be advantageous when downstream urine nitrification is implemented,as dilution of urine can alleviate the inhibitory effects of free ammonia and free nitrous acid,as well as overcome the P limitation problem,thus facilitating urine ***,there is a trade-off between optimizing P recovery and nitrification efficiencies.

A novel alpha function for Peng-Robinson equation of state was proposed and generalized with acentric factor and dipole moment for predicting thermodynamic properties of non-polar,weakly polar,and polar *** parameters of new alpha function were fitted with vapor pressures of 70 *** different methods were investigated for the correlation of parameters of new alpha function and Heyen alpha *** generalized new alpha function passed the consistency *** results indicated that the predictive accuracy of generalized new alpha function and generalized Heyen alpha function was improved for the estimation of vapor pressure of 11 kinds of compounds,with the average relative deviations(ARDs)being 2.60%and 2.76%.The ARDs of the two generalized alpha functions were 2.04%and 2.09%for the enthalpy of ***,the generalized new alpha function and the other alpha functions had great deviations for the prediction of liquid volumes and isobaric heat *** alpha function that was generalized with acentric factor and reduced dipole moment was more accurate than that was generalized with acentric factor,especially for the prediction of vapor pressure and enthalpy of vaporization of polar compounds.

Sliding fast-slow oscillations are interesting oscillation patterns discovered recently in the Duffing system with frequency *** oscillations have been obtained with a fixed 1:2 low frequency ratio in the previous *** present paper aims to explore composite fast-slow dynamics when the frequency ratio is *** a result,a novel route to composite fast-slow dynamics is *** find that,when presented with variable frequency ratios in a 1:n fashion,the sliding fast-slow oscillations may turn into the ones characterized by the fact that the clusters of large-amplitude oscillations of relaxational type are exhibited in each period of the oscillations,and hence the mixedmode fast-slow *** on whether the transition of the trajectory is from the upper subsystem via the fold bifurcation or not,these interesting oscillations are divided into two classes,both of which are investigated *** study shows that,when the frequency ratio n is increased from n=3,newly created boundary equilibrium bifurcation points may appear on the original sliding boundary line,which is divided into smaller parts,showing sliding and downward crossing dynamical *** is the root cause of the clusters,showing large-amplitude oscillations of relaxational type,resulting in the formation of mixed-mode fast-slow ***,a novel route to composite fast-slow dynamics by frequency switching is ***,the effects of the forcing on the mixed-mode fast-slow oscillations are *** magnitude of the forcing frequency may have some effects on the number of large-amplitude oscillations in the *** magnitude of the forcing amplitude determines whether the fast-slow characteristics can be produced.

Characteristics of Climate Change in the Lake Basin Area of Gangcha County

This paper mainly was based on the average temperature,precipitation,humidity,and wind direction of Gangcha county from 1960 to *** using wavelet analysis and Mann-Kendall(M-K)mutation analysis,specifically analyzed the climate change characteristics in the lake basin area of Gangcha *** result showed that the climatic change in the lake basin area of Gangcha county is *** average temperature,average minimum temperature,average maximum temperature,and evaporation showed an increasing *** the evaporation in the study area was higher than *** average relative humidity showed a decreasing *** the sunshine and the average wind speed percentage showed a significant decreasing *** the Morelet wavelet,The time series of annual mean temperature,annual evaporation and annual sunshine percentage all have quasi3a and quasi4A periods,and the annual mean precipitation has quasi2–3A,quasi2–5A and quasi2–6A periods,which appear in 1996–2005,1962–1978 and 1978–1996 *** mean annual relative humidity has obvious quasi2–7A and quasi3A time series,which appear from 1960 to 1996,1997 to 2005 and after 2008,*** annual mean wind speed has quasi3–4A and quasi5A time series characteristics,which appear in 1964–1967,1984–1995,after 2009 and 1971–1983,*** Mann-Kendall(M-K)mutation analysis,it is found that the mutations of evaporation and the average speed of wind are *** mutation of evaporation started in 2004,and the mutation of average started in 2003.

Polymer carbon nitride(PCN)is widely used in ***,pristine PCN has disadvantages such as insufficient visible light absorption and low photogenerated carrier separation efficiency that greatly limited the photocatalytic *** a non-toxic metal,gallium has the potential to solve the defects of *** ions coordinated with nitrogen in carbon nitride to form Ga-N active sites and improved the photocatalytic *** doped potassium ions form a transmission channel for charge redistribution and transfer between adjacent layers,which is beneficial for better separation of photoexcited *** this study,a series of PCN co-doped with gallium and potassium(Ga-K-PCN)were *** experimental results indicated photocatalytic generation of hydrogen peroxide proceeds through the 2e−oxygen reduction reaction ***,Nyquist plots and photocurrent results further proved that the presence of Ga-N sites and potassium ion doping could significantly improve the separation/transfer of intra-planar and interlayer charge carriers and thus enhance photocatalytic *** Ga10-K3-PCN photocatalysts promoted yield of H_(2)O_(2),with reactivity at 28.2μmol/(g·h)and solar-to-chemical conversion efficiency at 0.64%,surpassed that of a typical photo-catalyst based on PCN(0.18%).
