This study aims to develop an interactive virtual tour based on Android with a first-person shooter approach to introduce the Adisutjipto Institute of Aerospace technology (ITD Adisutjipto) virtually. This virtual tour utilizes an Artificial Intelligence (AI) agent as an intelligent guide who can answer questions and provide relevant information related to facilities and locations inside the ITD Adisutjipto building. The test results show that this virtual tour is effective and feasible to use, with a user satisfaction rate reaching 87.72%. This study contributes to the field of educational virtual technology by offering a more immersive and interactive experience. Users can easily explore the ITD Adisutjipto building virtually and obtain the information they need efficiently. This research is expected to be an innovative solution to introduce the ITD Adisutjipto to wider community, as well as support learning and research activities in the aerospace technology field. © 2024 IEEE.

One of the most important goals of theoretical ecologists is to find a strategy for controlling the chaos in ecological models to maintain healthy ecosystems. We investigate the influence of fear and the supply of additional food to predators in a delayed tri-trophic food chain model, where interference among the species is determined by Holling type-II functional response. The proposed model incorporates the fact that the growth rates of prey and middle predators are decreased due to the fear of middle and special predators, respectively. The additional food is supplied to both predators by either nature or external agencies. Furthermore, the poisoned prey in the predator's environment is taken into account. In the proposed model, we use two time delays: one for the growth term of the middle predator and another for the gestation delay of the special predator. We determine the conditions for the existence of ecologically feasible equilibrium points and their local and global stability. In addition, we establish the conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation around interior equilibrium to seek periodic behavior in nondelayed and delayed models. Numerical investigations are performed to justify the proposed theoretical findings through phase portraits, time series of solutions, and bifurcation diagrams. We observe that the chaotic dynamics of a tri-trophic food chain model can be controlled by the proper choice of the fear effect and by supplying additional food parameters. As a result, our findings provide more ecological insights into the dynamics of the delayed tri-trophic food chain model with the fear effect and additional food supply. © 2023 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies represent a progressive way of manufacturing components from different materials using only one production device. Additive manufacturing is gaining a distinct advantage in manufacturing industries because of its ability to manufacture parts with complex shapes without any tooling requirement or human interface. Its use covers a wide range of industries. The present work focuses on development of a new methodology for control of the AM process based on the integration of the outputs of the strength analysis into the printing software of the production equipment. The developed algorithm is based on several subsequent steps. The strength analysis is used for solving the CAD model of the printed part by the Finite Element Method (FEM). It is clear from the FEM results that the stresses are inhomogeneously distributed in the volume of the component. The methodology of the algorithm is based on dividing the part into separate volume areas with different stress levels. These separate volumes can be produced by AM with different printing orientations and different types and densities of infill. The results of stress analysis are integrated into the developed slicer software to design a layering of the model and the setting of technological and material parameters of printing. The goal is to generate data in the form of G-codes for the optimized printed structure of the component to maximize its strength and minimize production time and costs. © 2023 IEEE.

The study of sign language recognition has been a thriving area of research for nearly twenty years. SSL translation using computer vision relies on extensive training using large number of images or video sequences. Yet, it poses a challenge for languages with limited resources, like Sinhala Sign Language. Due to the absence of accessible datasets for such investigations and lack of SSL recognition systems for real-time scenarios, the authors of this research have developed a completed system that consist of three components which are, static sign recognition, dynamic sign recognition and natural language processing to output a meaningful sentence. This paper describes the models and the results which are developed for static sign recognition. The final model for the Sinhala Static recognition has developed using media-pipe and SVM algorithm. And to compare the results and performance authors have used CNN, SVM, KNN and Random-forest algorithms to compare the results and performance. In this research, authors have made a valuable contribution by introducing a new dataset and developing a system for translating static SSL that gives 99.67% of accuracy and best performance when compared to the other two models and algorithms described in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

Stable and low emission combustion studies of hydrocarbon fuels are of great importance. In this study, hydrogen enrichment of Propane gas, which is used in combustion systems today, and Colorless Distributed Combustion conditions were tested. A premixed burner with a low swirl ratio (0.4) was used. The thermal power was kept constant at 5 kW and the equivalence ratio was kept under lean ( = 0.8) conditions. Hydrogen was added up to 30% at intervals of 10% by volume. For all fuel mixtures, the O2/N2+O2 ratio was reduced by adding N2 gas into the oxidizer air. In the study, acoustic enforcements were performed at different frequencies and dynamic pressure amplitudes at resonance frequencies were determined. In addition, flue gas emissions of all fuel mixtures were measured. The results of the study showed that combustion can be performed at lower O2 ratios with the increasing hydrogen. The addition of N2 as a diluent reduced the thermo-acoustic instability of the flame. As the dilution rate was increased, the flame approached the blowoff limit and extinguished under external acoustic enforcement. In all fuel mixtures, the flame temperature and luminous intensity decreased as the O2 ratio of the oxidizer air was reduced. While N2 dilution decreased NOX emissions due to the decreasing flame temperature, it caused an increase in CO emissions. In the fuel mixture with 30% H2 content, the CO emission in combustion with 21% O2 air was measured as 10 ppm, while the CO emission at the 17% O2 ratio increased to 3783 ppm. © 2025 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

Personas, a user characterisation, have been widely used in requirements engineering (RE) to enhance the understanding of end-users and their needs. However, the persona generation process is time-consuming and demands familiarity with a user-centered approach. The central issue lies in existing tools for automatically generating personas, which are restricted to generating persona templates and provide limited user control to tailor personas according to their specific needs. This paper introduces CRAFTER, a persona generation tool that uses Large Language Models (GPT-3.5 model). This tool not only automates persona creation but also offers recommendations to users for generating personas tailored to their requirements. The study involved an online questionnaire with 19 respondents who utilised the tool, providing feedback that indicated the tool’s sufficiency for persona generation while identifying areas for improvement. Beyond its primary function, CRAFTER stands out by providing guidance to requirements engineers throughout the persona creation process. The tool grants users the flexibility to customise personas based on their specific requirements, acknowledging the crucial human subjectivity in persona development. Additionally, CRAFTER promotes persona reusability, allowing users to save and reuse generated personas for future projects. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – Science and technology Publications, Lda.

Systematic faults can often occur during the development of a system. The later such faults are discovered, the more expensive it can be to correct them. In systems engineering practice, there are many methods and tools to reduce the likelihood of systematic faults. In this paper, we present the application of a formal model–based verification technique – called model checking – to assist railway engineers in designing and verifying the safety-related functionality of railway control systems. The proposed process is part of a specification-verification environment that facilitates the construction of correct, complete, consistent, and verifiable functional specifications during development. The results and experience in model checking are illustrated by a case study of a vehicle detection point, a common component in this domain. The model checking of the case study has been performed in the widely used UPPAAL modeling and simulation framework, which can also verify formal properties and generate a counterexample in case of a property violation. By analyzing the counterexample, the designer can gain insights into the system's behavior and identify potential design flaws or failures. Model checking can be used to achieve a higher quality functional specification that is typically more complete and/ or contains fewer faults compared to the traditional development approach. © 2024 Budapest University of technology and Economics. Smartphones contain a vast amount of information about their users, which can be used as evidence in criminal cases. However, the sheer volume of data can make it challenging for forensic investigators to identify and use the most relevant information. Neutrosophic logic is a generalization of fuzzy logic that allows for uncertainty and vagueness, making it a more potent tool for dealing with the ambiguity of real-world data. The proposed framework aims to identify and utilize the most relevant information for forensic investigators, making it easier to solve criminal cases using Neutrosophic logic. This novel approach provides a more powerful tool for dealing with the ambiguity of smartphone data, ultimately improving the accuracy and effectiveness of forensic investigations. Our research has utilized Neutrosophic logic to evaluate the degree of truth, falsity, or Indeterminacy of this information. Additionally, this study analyzes conversations between individuals using Excel’s fuzzy lookup add-in to determine the percentage of truth and false in each conversation. The results were compiled into a dataset and utilized a Neutrosophic Python code to evaluate the information. The results indicate the percentage of truth, false, and Indeterminacy in each conversation and which can be used to determine its admissibility as evidence and which not. © 2025, University of New Mexico. The information technologies (IT) sector has been an area of study whose significance has grown exponentially, taking into account the effects of growing technology and the importance of technology in recent years, taking into account the effects of the pandemic. The widespread use of remote working and hybrid working models in these sectors reveals the importance of making more careful performance evaluations of employees. Human resources are essential in the upkeep, renewal, and development of existing software products, as well as the creation of new ones. Infrastructures and system algorithms created with human impact as the most important resource can be finished on time for project success and in a manner that addresses future needs. This study, it is aimed to rank and monitor the performances of software engineers and analysts working in the software development sector by measuring both their technical skills and personal competencies. The most important items accepted as evaluation criteria in the sector were weighted by experts in their fields using the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) method. It was ensured that these weighted evaluation items had been scored for the people to be measured and results were obtained. In order to evaluate the employees in the roles of analyst and software developer in terms of both talent and technical knowledge, the evaluation of the criteria of the experts with Fuzzy AHP and the weighting of the criteria are shown in tables in the study. Then, newly hired people and interns to be recruited were evaluated by their mentors, and a method that could be useful for tracking their training and development experiences was provided. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
