In the presented work, a harmonic analysis has been implemented to determine the resonance occurrence node of the Sepic DC-DC converter. The simulation studies were implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. Two cases of transistor conduction are presented. The differential equations for describing the processes in the converter are presented. State space matrices are used to implement harmonic analysis. Simulation studies are obtained and comments are made on the advantages and disadvantages of the methods used. © 2024 IEEE.

The utilization of hydrogen as a clean fuel technology holds great promise in reducing carbon emissions and advancing towards a sustainable energy future. In this study, ultrasonic waves were used in aluminum-water reaction to increase hydrogen production. The aluminum-water reaction was carried out at five NaOH concentrations, namely 0.3M, 0.5M, 0.75M, 1M, and 2M. The aluminum used is aluminum scrap. The hydrogen production rate is significantly increased due to the ultrasonic agitation of 48 kHz in the water-aluminum reaction. Ultrasound produces reaction residue particles that are more porous, according to SEM images. A more pronounced boehmite (AlOOH) phase rather than bayerite (Al(OH)3) phase is observed from the reaction product according to XRD and FTIR characterizations. This shows that ultrasonic agitation speeds up the reaction so that the water temperature rises more than it would have otherwise. However, in electrolysis, this impact is less pronounced because ultrasound can only lower the overpotential value and little improvement is shown in the rate at which hydrogen is produced. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. In current research a photovoltaic plant for supplying medium sized enterprises is studied. In the presented manuscript the main advantages of the proposed system and disadvantages of connecting photovoltaic systems to the distribution network are discussed. Also, the parameters and external influences on the power plant are presented. Data from smart meters for electricity production for a period of 1 year were used. © 2024 IEEE.

This article presents a stability analysis of a boost DC-DC converter for powering an LED strip. A model of a DC converter is presented and the principle of operation is described. LTSpice software was used to implement the mathematical model. LED strip data provided by the manufacturer is used. Simulation results of the realized studies by Fourier transformation are presented. Investigating the influence of transient in LED drivers is useful in order to ensure the stability of the manufactured device under various external influences. © 2024 IEEE.

In the present paper, a harmonic analysis of a Cuk DC-DC converter is realized. A simulation model was implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. The converter is described using differential equations that are represented in state space. Two scenario of on and off transistor are considered. Simulation results are shown, where it can be observed in which case resonance occurs, which significantly influences the design of the circuit. Main advantages and disadvantages of the selected topology are described. © 2024 IEEE.

Flight delays are the most pressing cause of concern in the airline sector because they can weaken and harm airlines, passengers, and airports. Flight delay prediction has become an essential step in decision-making processes within commercial aviation. Due to the developments of recent technologies, there are many prediction models for flight delays;however, more development of accurate prediction models is still needed. Machine learning, statistical models, and other techniques can be used to create quick and accurate flight delay prediction models. Furthermore, methods for feature selection can be developed to get rid of dimensionality issues. This study aimed to compare four classification algorithms using "big data analytics" to predict flight delays, a function that can improve the whole airline sector. The selected classification algorithms were the "Gaussian Naïve Bayes," "Gradient Boosted Tree" classifier, "Logistic Regression," and "Random Forest" classifier. Many assessment techniques were applied to each one of the suggested models to show the better performance of these models. The comparison used the resulting confusion matrix to summarize prediction results for the following classification problems: "F1 Score", "Accuracy," "Recall," "Precision," "Area Under ROC," and "Area Under PR." The assessment results showed the enhanced outcomes of the "Gradient Boosted Tree" Classifier with existing techniques, and all results of "Logistic Regression" and "Naïve Bayes" are equal. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This paper considers solving distributed optimization problems in peer-to-peer multi-agent networks. The network is synchronous and connected. By using the proportional-integral (PI) control strategy, various algorithms with fixed stepsize have been developed. Two notable among them are the PI algorithm and the PI consensus algorithm. Although the PI algorithm has provable linear or exponential convergence without the standard requirement of (strong) convexity, a similar guarantee for the PI consensus algorithm is unavailable. In this paper, using Lyapunov theory, we guarantee exponential convergence of the PI consensus algorithm for global cost functions that satisfy the restricted secant inequality, with rate-matching discretization, without requiring convexity. To accelerate the PI consensus algorithm, we incorporate local preconditioning in the form of constant positive definite matrices and numerically validate its efficiency compared to the prominent distributed convex optimization algorithms. Unlike classical pre-conditioning, where only the gradients are multiplied by a pre-conditioner, the proposed pre-conditioning modifies both the gradients and the consensus terms, thereby controlling the effect of the communication graph on the algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

This research looks into electrical grids that will soon likely become more intelligent. In light of this, there is a growing need for intelligent, adaptable microgrids that can function both independently and in conjunction with the grid. Black start operation, frequency and voltage stability, active and reactive power flow regulation, active power filtering capabilities, and storage energy management are the features that these small grids are expected to have. Energy can be produced and stored in this way near its points of consumption, improving reliability and lowering losses from big power lines. The key ideas about intelligent microgrid configuration, control, and energy management are reviewed in this study. Attributes-wise, the microgrid can function by utilizing the following three primary hierarchical control levels, just like the main grid.: Primary control on the converter level, Secondary control to adjust the frequency and voltage of the AC grid, and Third-level control over additional global duties determine whether energy is imported or exported for the microgrid. when connected to the main utilities. Advancing one of the above-mentioned control levels or redesigning the microgrid can enhance the stand-alone ac microgrid inertia. © 2024 IEEE.

Aggression detection from memes is challenging due to their region-specific interpretation and multimodal nature. Detecting or classifying aggressive memes is complicated in low-resource languages (including Bengali) because benchmark datasets and primary language processing software are needed. This paper proposes an innovative meme classification technique that harnesses deep learning (DL) approaches to leverage memes’ visual and textual features in Bengali. Various DL frameworks, such as VGG16, VGG19, ResNet50, CNN, BiLSTM, and BiLSTM+CNN, extract visual and textual features from memes. A novel corpus named the Bengali Meme Dataset (AMemD) is also introduced, comprising a substantial amount of multimodal data, including text and image components. Experimental results on AMemD demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. The CNN combined with VGG16 obtained the highest f1-score of 0.738 among all multimodal techniques tested. This pioneering research offers valuable insights into the complex task of aggression detection from memes in Bengali and provides a foundation for future studies in this area.
