This article delves into the synergistic potential of integrating Bipolar DC distribution grids, Probabilistic EV load demand forecasting, and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. It offers a blueprint for electric vehicle (EV) users to smartly improve their financial results. Through the amalgamation of these components, individuals who possess electric vehicles have the potential to mitigate their energy expenditures while concurrently generating additional income. The study reveals that the integration of EV into the distribution system can lead to a substantial increase in daily energy loss, reaching up to 25.91%. However, when V2G technology is employed within the distribution grid, it has the remarkable capability to mitigate this increase in daily energy loss significantly, achieving a reduction of up to 64.12%.

Porous yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) has been regarded as a potential candidate for bone substitute due to its high mechanical strength. However, porous YSZ is biologically inert to bone tissue. It is therefore necessary to introduce bioactive coatings onto the walls of the porous structures to enhance its bioactivity. In this study, porous YSZ scaffolds were prepared using a replication technique and then coated with mesoporous bioglass due to its excellent bioactivity. The microstructures were examined using scanning electron microscopy and the mechanical strength was evaluated via compression test. The biocompatibility and bioactivity were also evaluated using bone marrow stromal cell(BMSC) proliferation test and simulated body fluid test.

In this paper, an experimental set-up as well as the modeling framework for efficient prediction of hard disks (HDD) reliability due to particle-induced failure within the product development process (PDP) is proposed. An alternative response using the cumulative particle counts (CPC), whose failure distribution can be modeled by the lognormal distribution, is introduced in the modeling framework. By using a model to describe the growth of CPC in prime HDDs based on data from the same vintage, the lifetime distribution of particle-induced failure for the HDDs can be obtained. Prime HDDs are fully functional drives within a typical HDD product development process. For illustration, five prime HDDs from a same vintage of a HDD family are used to determine the baseline CPC growth over a certain period of time. The lifetime distribution is then derived for that vintage of HDDs

Cervical cancer ranks as the fourth most common cancer among females worldwide with roughly 528,000 new cases yearly. Significant progress in the realm of artificial intelligence particularly in neural networks and deep learning help physicians to diagnose cervical cancer more accurately. In this paper, we address a classification problem with the widely used VGG16 architecture. In addition to classification error, our model considers a regularization part during tuning of the weights, acting as prior knowledge of the colposcopic image. This embedded regularization approach, using a 2D Gaussian kernel, has enabled the model to learn which sections of the medical images are more crucial for the classification task. The experimental results show an improvement compared with standard transfer learning and multimodal approaches of cervical cancer classification in literature.

Hospital systems routinely assign disease codes (ICD10 codes) to medical records. The challenge stands on treating natural and nonstandard language in which doctors express their diagnoses and, additionally, to solve a large-scale classification problem, as there are thousands of possible codes. In this working notes paper, we present our system and the results of the CLEF 2018 eHealth Evaluation Task 1 on Multilingual Information Extraction-ICD10 coding. This benchmark addresses information extraction in written text with focus on several languages, specifically Hungarian, Italian and French. The goal is to automatically assign ICD10 codes to diagnostic terms of death certificates. The problem can be cast in different ways, for example as a multilabel classification task or as sequence-to-sequence prediction. Our proposal follows this last approach, with promising results, well above the average results for the task. It only relies on the material provided by the task organizers, allowing the application of the same system to all datasets.

This paper reports on a measurement of the service quality within a dealership in the Western Cape Province, South Africa. A case study was conducted at the unit using five dimensions of SERVQUAL to calculate the gap differences between customers' expectation and perception of staff from the dealership. Various interviews and a semi structured questionnaire were utilised to collect the data from the dealer and its customers. The study analysed the service expectations of the customers. A number of customers' expectations for service quality were applied. Finally, the dimensions of service quality were analysed through exploratory factor analysis. The results of the study showed that service quality at the dealer does not meet the expected standard and that relationship between customer expectation and staff perception requires attention. Basically, there are also a number of considerable issues which would form the basis for useful further research.

Frames are mathematical tools which can represent redundancies in many application problems. In the studies of frames, the frame bounds and frame bound ratio are very important indices characterizing the robustness and numerical performance of frame systems. In this paper, the frame bounds of a class of frame, which can be modeled by the bi-directional impulse response of linear time systems, are analyzed and computed. By using the state space approach, the tightest lower and upper frame bounds can be directly and efficiently computed.
