In the last three years, a new partner has emerged for teachers and educators in the field of education. The mushrooming of applications based on large language models has greatly shaped the educational development fields of the present era. The use of various AI applications has become commonplace among students and teachers alike. Many questions are being raised by researchers in this field. What does the rapid development of AI applications bring to the field of pedagogy? Should the products of such applications be compared with human performance? The form presented in this thesis seeks to answer similar questions. What is the impact of frequent use of these applications on the literacy level of individuals? In which areas do students tend to use these applications? The results indicate that half of the students believe their literacy levels will decrease with the mass emergence of AI applications, while 36% feel it will not change. However, 88 % of students have already dealt with AI-based applications, with 64 % using them several times or more, suggesting a high level of integration into their educational processes. © 2024 IEEE.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) gradually make it difficult for the patients to move, breath, and express their will as their symptoms progress associated with motor neuron. It is important for the patients to be able to not only communicate their daily needs to someone such as family member of caregivers but also perform their daily activities and participate in society and fulfill social roles without constant support by other people. To improve their ability of independence, the purpose of this study is to develop a cybernic interface that can perform daily living tasks by transiting seamlessly between cyberspace and physical space based on the patient's remaining voluntary motor functions, and confirm the basic performance of the developed interface. The system consists of bio-electrical signals measurement unit, display unit, processor unit, and IoT unit. The system controlled the flipping up and down the head-mounted display (HMD) by estimating the intention of transition between cyberspace and physical space based on the bio-electrical signals of the forearm. When the HMD is attached to the user's face, the user can move at the virtual environment, operate IoT device at the room of physical world via virtual environment, and select voice output for expressing own state by the gaze. To confirm the basic performance of the developed interface for performing daily living tasks by oneself, we conducted basic experiment with an able-bodied participant. As a result, the participant was able to flip up the HMD, move at virtual environment, and operate the TV and lock at the physical space without moving own body similar to ALS patients. In conclusion, we confirmed the basic performance of performing daily living tasks to improve the ability of independence for ALS patients. The cybernic interface that can connect central nervous system to cyberspace and physical space has a potential for removing constraints due to motor dysfunctions and spatial limitation. © 20

The collective water supply system (CWSS) belongs to the critical infrastructure systems, being at the same time an anthropotechnical system, i.e. a system consisting of mutually interacting man—technical object—environment. Ensuring an appropriate level of reliability and safety of water supply to consumers is one of the current problems of the water supply sector. Specialist literature indicates that 70–90% of failures of technical systems are related to the impact of the human factor. In the case of the CWSS, it is estimated that man is responsible for 75% of the occurring failures. The influence of the human factor in the assessment of the reliability of the CWSS cannot be omitted. The paper presents the role of the operator in the CWSS, indicates the types of human errors and their causes. A review of the human reliability assessment (HRA) methods was made and the perspective of using the HRA methods in the analysis of the reliability and safety of the CWSS was presented. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The measurement of the dynamic parameters of vehicle motion is usually carried out by measuring the velocity of motion, accelerations and angular velocities in all three axes. For research applications, e.g. the DAS-3 with microwave velocity sensor from Corrsys Datron GmbH (now part of the Kistler Group) and the PicDaq5 from Dr. Steffan Datentechnik GmbH are used for this purpose. If the movement of the vehicle also needs to be documented by video, these three measuring devices need to be synchronized in time, e.g. by light pulses for the video and electrical pulses for the speed and acceleration meters. This paper describes the technical solution of the synchronization device, triggered manually during driving tests or by a ribbon switch in the case of measurements during crash tests. © 2024 IEEE.

The article analyses the accuracy of contactless measurement of resonant frequency and quality factor of RFID transponders in a simplified measuring circuit that does not use an impedance meter nor vector network analyser. The described measurement does not use compensation for the influence of the measuring circuit on the results. This creates a systematic measurement error, the value of which is analysed. Such simplified measuring circuit is used for fast testing of the finalized RFID transponders in the factory when contact measurement is no longer possible. The measuring circuit works like a band-stop (notch) filter, and to measure the parameters of RFID transponders, it is sufficient to measure the absolute value of the transfer function, e.g. using a signal generator and a voltage level meter, but a spectrum analyser with a tracking generator can be faster alternative. The results of the analysis show the influence of individual parameters of the measuring circuit, including the parasitic ones, on the accuracy of the resonant frequency and quality factor measurement. © 2024 IEEE.

This study presents an analysis and comparison of the MPC and PI controllers' dynamic performance. The two control structures are intended to control a single-phase PUC5 inverter that is connected to the grid via a L filter. Owing to its various benefits, the packed U-Cell converter has emerged as a potential multilevel converter architecture for a wide range of industrial applications. It achieves the maximum voltage levels with greater dependability while using fewer switch components. In order to inject a sinusoidal current with minimum THD while maintaining the capacitor voltage at its appropriate level, different control methods are employed. In this paper, two controllers are investigated the MPC and the conventional PI regulator. MATLAB/Simulink software package is used for simulation of the whole system. The results demonstrate that MPC outperforms traditional PI control in terms of tracking performance under restrictions. In other words, the MPC offers more control flexibly and better current injection into the grid with low THD. © 2024 IEEE.

Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs) are emerging and have huge prospects since they have various applications in oceanography, environmental monitoring, and underwater communication. These networks contain low-cost submerged sensors that are mostly connected by way of acoustic media. Sensors are relatively new to underwater research, and thanks to recent technological development, they can now function at different depths. In this article, the author explores what UWSNs must do to operate smoothly by exploring the basic features that they must meet for further development. Real-time Underwater communication remains an open problem due to underwater acoustic channels important for undersea data acquisition, undersea navigation, and undersea remote sensing. To mitigate such challenges and in light of the use of new technologies, researchers seek to improve the reliability and reliability of UWSNs. Finally, there is great potential with UWSNs for investigating and exploiting the underwater environment by improving scenarios of different domains in line with subaqueous data and communications. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, a variety of rolling bearing fault diagnosis methods based on deep learning has become an emerging research orientation. However, there is still a gap between the existing diagnostic model and the practical application, i.e., 1) due to the variability of working conditions, the domain shift problem between source domain and the target domain have led to the obvious degradation of the diagnostic performance. 2) It is time-consuming and expensive to label a mass of monitoring data in practical situation. To address this problem, a domain-adversarial transfer learning method based on deep residual network (DRN-DATL) for rolling bearing fault diagnosis is proposed. Firstly, DRN is designed to extract features from raw vibration signal, which can avoid gradient problems. Then, the APReLU activation function is adopted to improved diagnostic accuracy under different working conditions. Meanwhile, domain-adversarial training is utilized to minimize distribution differences between source domain and target domain. Finally, seven comparison methods are selected for systematic analysis, and the results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the overall performance of the diagnosis model, which has achieved higher classification accuracy. © 2024 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

"Artificial lung" is a device that simulates breathing process of occupants in a room. This allows you to safely test, e.g., the impact of HVAC systems on the spread of pathogens. The paper describes the concept of the device, its construction and performed tests. The project was implemented by students of two faculties: Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, and Energy and Environmental engineering. Breast cancer is a severe problem for women around the world especially in developing countries, according to recent reports from the World Health Organization (WHO). High accuracy and early detection of breast cancer reduces the mortality rate, in the other hand, recognition of breast cancer is a complicated issue. Various studies and methods have been carried out to overcome this problem and to obtain accurate screening of breast cancer. One of the most recent methods with high performance is deep learning;it has been used to classify breast cancer using mammograms or histopathological images. This paper proposes a new using the concept of sliding window, and using the ensemble of four pre-trained convolutional neural networks (CNN) in order to classify breast cancer into eight classes. In this study, each image produces 4 non-overlapped sliding windows which are fed to GoogleNet, AlexNet, ResNet50, and DenseNet-201 CNNs, and an ensemble is then done to find the major class of each window, the ensemble is then applied again to find the class of the whole histopathological image. Breast Cancer Histopathological Database (BreakHis) database has been employed in this paper with eight classes (Adenosis, Ductal Carcinoma, Fibroadenoma, Lobular Carcinoma, Mucinous Carcinoma Papillary Carcinoma, Phyllodes Tumour, Tubular Adenoma). The proposed method is applied to four magnification cases: 40x, 100x, 200x, and 400x images. The proposed ensemble technique achieved an accuracy of 99.3325%. The results of the proposed system are comparable to recent studies results. © 2021 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
