The electroencephalogram (EEG) provides essential data for analyzing brain activities. However, artifacts such as electrooculography (EOG) and electromyography (EMG) often interleave with the EEG signals, significantly affecting the quality of EEG signal analysis. The heterogeneous distribution of these artifacts in the time-frequency domain makes it challenging to remove multiple artifacts using a unified model. In this paper, we propose an Artifact-Aware EEG Denoising Model, referred to as DADM, to effectively remove various types of artifacts in a unified manner. We first obtain an artifact representation that indicates the type of artifact from a pre-trained artifact classification model. This artifact representation is then used as prior knowledge, which is fused into the denoising model in the frequency-time domain. This enables the model to become aware of the artifact type and precisely remove artifacts based on their type. Due to the heterogeneous distributions of artifacts in the frequency domain, we introduce a frequency enhancement module that can identify specific types of artifacts based on their representation and remove them using a hard attention mechanism. Additionally, we design a time-domain compensation module to enhance the denoising capability of DADM by compensating for potential losses of global information. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that DADM significantly outperforms the Novel CNN in denoising EEG signals, showing a notable 7.77% improvement in correlation coefficient (CC) metrics. © 2024, The Authors. A hands-free operation is a solution for people who require a hand to do an action but both right and left hands are busy carrying something. There are many techniques, and most of them use sensors to check a command from humans such as voice and movement. A kick gesture is one technique that people can kick into the air to invoke an operation of a target device such as a kick-activation liftgate of a car. In this paper, we use a microwave sensor to detect the movement of a human's foot and employ machine learning techniques to analyses the sensor data. It has found that the Logistic Regression technique provides the best accuracy, and the model can be simply programmed in an embedded system. © 2018 IEEE.

Despite the crucial role of interfacial perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in a Co(Fe)/MgO-based magnetic tunnel junction, the underlying mechanism is still being debated. Here, we report an anatomical study of the oxygen and Mg effect on Pt/Co bilayers through repeated in situ anomalous Hall effect measurements, controlled oxygen exposure, and Mg deposition in an ultrahigh vacuum system. We found that chemisorbed oxygen not only quenches the effective magnetic moment of the Co surface layer, but also softens its magnetic anisotropy. However, a subsequent Mg dusting on the oxygen preexposed Pt/Co surface can recover the magnetic anisotropy. The ab initio calculations on the exchange splitting and orbital hybridization near the Fermi level give a clear physical explanation of the experimental observations. Our results suggest that the Co(Fe)-O-M bond plays a more important role than the widely perceived Co(Fe)-O bond does in realizing interfacial perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in Co(Fe)/MgO heterostructures.

Recently, the increase in high areal density of hard disk drive with the small bit cells affects the structural variation in the magnetic recording head. Therefore, the structural size effect on the altered temperature in the tunneling magetoresistance (TMR) head with the MgO-based magnetic tunnel junction structure was investigated. Results indicate that the temperature increment in the MgO layer and the antiferromagetic layer decreases significantly with decreasing the thickness of the MgO barrier. This is because the generated heat during the current flow is proportional to the TMR resistance which can be estimated by the resistance of the MgO barrier layer. The efficiency of the write/read process with the thermal effect in the magnetic recording head is the important parameter realized for development of the storage technology.

An experiment study of fly height was performed to observe how the head-disk spacing after loading-unloading the head from the ramp onto the disk on the spin-stand *** fly height of write and read operation were analyzed by calculated from the power *** heater resistance of write and read were collected during *** of the test 190,000 cycles of loading/unloading showed,the fly height of write increased more than the *** fly height of all heads showed increasing *** the lube pick up on head and accumulation lube on the disk about 20%.The heater resistance of write and read were quite standing.

This paper proposes the preliminary investigation of rate adaptive error correction coding applied to MAC layer of Body Area Network (WBAN). Health monitoring is a crucial part of proactive patient treatment. As a nature to WBAN communication, there appears severe noise level surrounding the human body. The transmission quality is deterred according to the present of noise. The issue can be improved by appending Error Correction Code (ECC) to the communication message. However, such an effort can cause the packet overhead, latency, and more energy consumption. To mitigate these disadvantages, the rate adaptive of ECC is proposed. The Reed-Solomon (RS) code designed in GF256 has been employed in this study. It fits well the maximum MAC length which is 255 bytes. In our investigation, several MIT-BIH Arrhythmia databases are chosen as input data to represent the patient monitoring condition. The Rician fading channel model is involved as its quite nature to WBAN characteristic. The codes performances are measured in Bit Error Rate (BER) and energy consumption unit.

This paper details the application of a PEG originated non-binary LDPC codes designed to fit the pay load size of MAC frame of IEEE 802.15.6 Wireless Body Area Network. The resulted codes are with the block size is 255 bytes. Codes with the rate of 0.5 and 0.9 are investigated for their performance. The symbol error rate and block error rate performance given by the system simulation has confirmed that the non-binary LDPC code can yield better performance when compared with hard decision Reed Solomon codes.

Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Industry is approaching the end of the conventional perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology due to the limitations of the super paramagnetic effect. Shingled magnetic recording (SMR) is the current likely alternative to extend areal density beyond 1 Tb/ in 2 . SMR is feasible and the HDD industry has delivered the drives to the market after extensive research around the globe. Earlier studies by many researchers thought wide writers would provide good writability and would no longer be an issue in SMR. However, in our study, we reveal that there exists an optimal write width for SMR for a given writer design. In this work, we aim to determine the optimal writer width and the shingling track pitch conditions.

This paper presents a new method of 2DOF H infinity Control for DC Motor. The proposed technique applies the Genetic Algorithms to achieve the specified structure robust control design. The robustness in terms of robust 2DOF control is achieved by the proposed design and the control results are compared with the conventional 2DOF H infinity control. As results indicated, the proposed method is simpler and the order of the proposed controller is lower than that of the conventional robust control technique. The comparison is done by performing the simulation using the transfer function of the real motor system.

In LDPC code, the structure of code's parity check matrix plays the crucial role in code performanceIn this paper proposes the preliminary investigation of a designed parity check matrix from TannerWe modify this technique in to non binary LDPC structure and decoding with FFT-SPAWe take into high code rate application more than 0.8The result has shown that in bit error rate(BER) compare between non-binary LDPC and binary LDPCIn our results, the performance of non binary LDPC has better than binary LDPC.
