A State-Migration Particle Swarm Optimizer for Adaptive Latent Factor Analysis of High-Dimensional and Incomplete Data

High-dimensional and incomplete(HDI) matrices are primarily generated in all kinds of big-data-related practical applications. A latent factor analysis(LFA) model is capable of conducting efficient representation learning to an HDI matrix,whose hyper-parameter adaptation can be implemented through a particle swarm optimizer(PSO) to meet scalable ***, conventional PSO is limited by its premature issues,which leads to the accuracy loss of a resultant LFA model. To address this thorny issue, this study merges the information of each particle's state migration into its evolution process following the principle of a generalized momentum method for improving its search ability, thereby building a state-migration particle swarm optimizer(SPSO), whose theoretical convergence is rigorously proved in this study. It is then incorporated into an LFA model for implementing efficient hyper-parameter adaptation without accuracy loss. Experiments on six HDI matrices indicate that an SPSO-incorporated LFA model outperforms state-of-the-art LFA models in terms of prediction accuracy for missing data of an HDI matrix with competitive computational ***, SPSO's use ensures efficient and reliable hyper-parameter adaptation in an LFA model, thus ensuring practicality and accurate representation learning for HDI matrices.

Ensemble deep learning for high-precision classification of 90 rice seed varieties from hyperspectral images

To develop rice varieties with better nutritional qualities, it is important to classify rice seeds accurately. Hyperspectral imaging can be used to extract spectral information from rice seeds, which can then be used to classify them into different varieties. The challenges of precise classification increase when there are many classes and few training samples. In this paper, we present a novel method for high-precision Hyperspectral Image (HSI) classification of 90 different classes of rice seeds using ensemble deep learning. Our method first employs band selection techniques to select the optimal hyperspectral bands for rice seed classification. Then, a deep neural network is trained with the selected hyperspectral and RGB data from rice seed images to obtain different models for different bands. Finally, an ensemble of deep learning models is employed to classify rice seed images and improve classification accuracy. The proposed method achieves an overall precision ranging from 92.73 to 96.17% despite a large number of classes and low data samples for each class and with only 15 selected hyperspectral bands. This precision is significantly higher than the state-of-the-art classical machine learning methods like random forest, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed method in classifying hyperspectral images of rice seeds. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Representing a Model for the Anonymization of Big Data Stream Using In-Memory Processing

In light of the escalating privacy risks in the big data era, this paper introduces an innovative model for the anonymization of big data streams, leveraging in-memory processing within the Spark framework. The approach is founded on the principle of K-anonymity and propels the field forward by critically evaluating various anonymization methods and algorithms, benchmarking their performance with respect to time and space complexities. A distinctive formula for optimized cluster determination in the K-means algorithm is presented, along with a novel tuple expiration time strategy for the efficient purging of clusters. The integration of these components into Spark’s RDD and MLlib modules results in a significant decrease in execution time and data loss rates, even with increasing data volumes. The paper’s notable contributions are its methodological advancements that offer a robust, scalable solution for data anonymization, safeguarding user privacy without sacrificing data utility or processing efficiency. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

A Review of Anonymization Algorithms and Methods in Big Data

In the era of big data, with the increase in volume and complexity of data, the main challenge is how to use big data while preserving the privacy of users. This study was conducted with the aim of finding a solution to this challenge. In this study, we examined various data anonymization methods, including differential privacy, advanced encryption, and strong access controls. In addition, the operation, advantages, disadvantages, and use of these methods, the challenges of adapting these methods to big data, and possible solutions for them were also examined. Our results show that traditional data anonymization methods lack scalability, leading to privacy breaches and data loss. When faced with large volumes of data, these methods may not be able to fully process the data. Also, these methods may be ineffective against re-identification attacks, linkage attacks, and inference attacks. We introduced emerging methods that are capable of providing improved privacy with minimal data loss. These methods have scalability for big data. Finally, we examined future research works and raised important questions that can help improve existing algorithms or develop new methods, better manage the complexity and scale of unstructured data. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative games

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

A Framework for Promoting Passive Breast Cancer Monitoring: Deep Learning as an Interpretation Tool for Breast Thermograms

Introduction: Several types of cancer can be detected early through thermography, which uses thermal profiles to image tissues in recent years, thermography has gained increasing attention due to its non-invasive and radiation-free nature. There is a growing need for thermographic images of breast cancer lesions in different nationalities and ages to develop this technique, however. This study aims to introduce a dataset of breast thermograms. Material and Methods: In this study, thermographic images of breast cancer from Iranian samples were prepared and confirmed due to the limited number of breast thermogram databases. The prepared database was tested using artificial intelligence and another well-known DMR database (Database for Mastology research) in this study to determine its reliability. Results: A variety of deep learning architectures and transfer learning are used to evaluate these databases for accuracy, sensitivity, speed, training compliance, and validation compliance. According to best-fitted structures for both types of databases, the database obtained from this study has a quality comparable to the DMR reference database, with minimum accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, and F-score of 80%, 86%, 86%, 88%, and 87%, respectively. Conclusion: Using thermography as a method of early breast screening is demonstrated to be effective. In comparison to DMR, the lower statistics of the proposed database (between 2 and 7 percent) indicates that more diverse breast thermograms should be captured in conjunction with improvements to imaging equipment as well as adherence to thermography recording protocols in order to improve the reliability and efficiency of the database. © (2024), (Mashhad University of Medical Sciences). Constructing colloquial dataset for Persian sentiment analysis of social microblogs

Microblogging websites have massed rich data sources for sentiment analysis and opinion mining. In this regard, sentiment classification has frequently proven inefficient because microblog posts typically lack syntactically consistent terms and representatives since users on these social networks do not like to write lengthy statements. Also, there are some limitations to low-resource languages. The Persian language has exceptional characteristics and demands unique annotated data and models for the sentiment analysis task, which are distinctive from text features within the English dialect. This paper first constructs a user opinion dataset called ITRC-Opinion in a collaborative environment and insource way. Our dataset contains 60,000 informal and colloquial Persian texts from social microblogs such as Twitter and Instagram. Second, this study proposes a new architecture based on the convolutional neural network (CNN) model for more effective sentiment analysis of colloquial text in social microblog posts. The constructed datasets are used to evaluate the presented architecture. Furthermore, some models, such as LSTM, CNN-RNN, BiLSTM, and BiGRU with different word embeddings, including Fasttext, Glove, and Word2vec, investigated our dataset and evaluated the results. The results demonstrate the benefit of our dataset and the proposed model (72% accuracy), displaying meaningful improvement in sentiment classification performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Airplanes are a social necessity for movement of humans,goods,and *** are generally safe modes of transportation;however,incidents and accidents occasionally *** prevent aviation accidents,it is necessary to develop a machine-learning model to detect and predict commercial flights using automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast *** study combined data-quality detection,anomaly detection,and abnormality-classification-model *** research methodology involved the following stages:problem statement,data selection and labeling,prediction-model development,deployment,and *** data labeling process was based on the rules framed by the international civil aviation organization for commercial,jet-engine flights and validated by expert commercial *** results showed that the best prediction model,the quadratic-discriminant-analysis,was 93%accurate,indicating a“good fit”.Moreover,the model’s area-under-the-curve results for abnormal and normal detection were 0.97 and 0.96,respectively,thus confirming its“good fit”.
