Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a monogenic cardiovascular disorder that has been poorly studied at the molecular, genetic, and computational levels. Here, we examined the genetic map of HCM polymorphic targets using a computational approach to identify new phytochemicals with potential therapeutic properties. We demonstrate the range of mutations associated with cardiomyopathies, and identify new associations between genes and phenotypes in this disease category. Specifically, our findings suggest that several genes associated with channelopathies might serve as genetic modifiers, altering the clinical features and severity of cardiomyopathic phenotypes, thus likely impacting disease manifestation.

Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) will be a crucial component of smart factories of the future (FoF). This demo presents a reliable and cost-effective HRI system based on Augmented Reality (AR). In this demonstration, we offer concepts and methods currently being developed to enable high-level human-robot collaboration and interaction. The user interaction and instructions are captured via AR and communicated to a Robot Operating System (ROS) powered robotic arm.

The emergence of 5G networks has emerged as innovative solutions for traffic grooming and resource management in optical fronthaul networks. Traditional methods are often incapable of managing the complexity of different traffic patterns, low latencies, and high bandwidth consumption, which leads to suboptimal resource allocation and, consequently, high operating costs. The objective is to develop an innovative machine learning (ML) architecture called Intelligent Multi-Attentive Generative Adversarial Networks (IMAGAN) for maximizing resource utilization and traffic grooming (TG) in 5G optical fronthaul networks. The suggested IMAGAN-based architecture consists of a multi-attentive model for identifying spatiotemporal traffic patterns combined with a generative adversarial model to provide synthetic network scenarios. The findings indicate that the IMAGAN-based architecture enhances the performance of energy management systems in terms of resource utilization ratio, bandwidth utilization ratio, rejection ratio, MAE, and RMSE. The findings of the study offer a strong foundation for further improvements in intelligent 5G network design and management.

Local clock synchronization of nodes is one of the most critical problems with Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA)-based protocols for dissemination of warning messages in Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs). Unsynchronized nodes' clocks make time slot reservations inefficient, which results in channel collisions at a large scale. In this paper, we propose a novel cluster-based Vehicle-to-Vehicle Local Clock Synchronization (VLCS) technique, which is composed of two phases to synchronize all nodes in a VANET to a commonly shared clock. The first phase performs inter-cluster clock synchronization, whereas the second phase accomplishes intra-cluster clock synchronization where each member node synchronizes its clock with the corresponding cluster head. Simulation results demonstrate significant improvement of VLCS over an eminent VANETs clock synchronization technique. © 2019 IEEE.

Background: Breast cancer is a major cause of mortality globally. Oncolytic virotherapy is a promising treatment modality that directly destroys cancer cells and induces an immune response against them. Among natural oncolytic viruses, Newcastle disease virus(NDV) has shown selective tumor cell *** and methods: In this study, we investigated the efficacy of variable doses of NDV and cyclophosphamide on 4T1 cancer cell line and BALB/c mouse tumors for the first ***: Compared with the control group, the combination treatment group with NDV and cyclophosphamide showed a significant increase in the expression levels of P21, P27, and P53 genes by 38%, 46%, and 81%,respectively(p < 0.05). In contrast, the expression levels of CD34, integrin α5, vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor(VEGFR) genes significantly decreased by 47%,45%, 42%, and 23%, respectively(p < 0.05). The reactive oxygen species(ROS) generation assay evaluated with 2′,7′-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate(DCFH-DA) staining showed a significant increase in ROS levels within 4T1 cells treated with NDV compared with the untreated group after 24 h(p < 0.01). Furthermore, Annexin V/propidium iodide(PI) double staining analysis showed that the proportion of apoptotic cells in the NDV-treated group decreased by 0.61% and 1.63% after 6 h and 12 h, respectively(p < 0.05). After 12 days, tumor volume in the NDV-treated groups decreased by 72%-87% compared with a 48% increase in the control group, reflecting a net reduction in tumor volume relative to the control group(p < 0.001).Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that NDV in combination with chemotherapy drugs may be a promising therapeutic option for cancer patients. However, several other factors need to be considered. These results indicate that NDV may have potential effects on cancer treatment.

This paper presents the development of an acquisition system and data logger from an existing set of three continuous stirred-tank reactors in series. The reactors are currently used in chemical engineering educational laboratories to perform kinetic and tracer experiments. In this sense, to accomplish the store data process, the volumetric flow rate and the concentration of tracer, reactants and/or products of the reaction must be acquired as a function of time. In the original experimental setup, only the signal conditioning system was operational, while the acquisition, visualization, and control systems were obsolete and damaged. Thus, a new system composed of an interface and real-time acquisition data is proposed alongside preserving the main reactor structure. A graphical user interface and the automation of the various actuators were developed based on worldwide usage and low cost, respectively. This system, based on a common 8-bit microcontroller and an application developed in Lazarus, allows the storage of the acquired data in a time-series database. In this way, students can analyze the results later or in real time. Moreover, remote access allows controlling the reactor and getting data by the Internet of Things (IoT) resources. Additionally, the proposed system using IoT allows data to be shared with the community as a dataset.

With the widespread usage of smartphones, users not just using their smartphone for calls and messaging only, but they are using it for a variety of purposes such as banking transactions, e-mailing, chatting, online shopping, video conferencing, health monitoring, and many more. Most of these activities store personal and sensitive data of the user on the device, reaching this confidential information by unauthorized person may cause huge losses and bad consequences. Therefore, securing the smartphone's accessibility from unauthorized people became an extremely essential. With the advanced development in the area of sensor-based smartphone authentication methods, different methods were developed to be easily used by users through specific criteria. However, many aspects haven't been discovered yet in the area of sensor-based smartphone authentication methods. On the basis of that, this study aims to review the area of sensor-based smartphone authentication methods systematically to provide a comprehensive understanding of this new area and to discuss the current challenges and issues. To conduct this systematic review, four scientific digital databases were utilized;ScienceDirect, IEEE Xplore, Web of Science, and Scopus. The total number of studies found was n = 256 articles, only n = 46 articles were included based on our inclusion criteria. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the included studies, taxonomy was drawn. Also, this study provides a discussion on the current motivations, challenges and issues, and recommendations in sensor-based smartphone authentication methods. This review enlightens, encourage, and direct researchers to develop authentication solutions and reduce the current gaps in this area. © 2024 The Authors

Nowadays majority of the college students' physical condition is worrying. They are not physically and also mentally healthy. If so, why? Their selection of foods is not consistent. Thus, they are more likely to suffer from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, stress, etc. in the future. Awareness should be created to prevent such diseases before they occur. Physiological parameters measured included Systolic (SBP) and Diastolic (DBP) Blood Pressure, Body mass Index (BMI), Blood Serum Cholesterol (BSC), and percentage of Body Fat (%BF). These parameters are retrieved and classified to check the physical health or predict if any abnormalities are found in the health condition of college students. Therefore, to predict and classify their health status using Breiman's Random Forest (RF) Algorithm is proposed in this paper. Of all the classification methods available, random forests offer the greatest accuracy. Random forest method also handles large data with thousands of variables. When a class is more sparse than further classes in the data it can spontaneously balance the data sets. The outcome shows that the proposed Random Forest algorithm is accurate in predicting and checking the health condition of students. Students' physical condition should be diagnosed through this method. By knowing the healthy body parameters of the students, a physician can know whether they are healthy or not. © 2022
