As the Internet becomes increasingly image-centric, users face substantial challenges in efficiently locating desired images due to the inherent limitations of image search engines in interpreting visual content and keyword ambiguity. This paper introduces an innovative solution employing psychological intention diagrams to enhance search accuracy. These diagrams harness historical data to depict the search intentions associated with specific keywords, reflecting both user and web designer perspectives. By integrating these diagrams, our proposed search engine significantly refines its ability to predict and retrieve the most relevant images. The implementation of this system involves constructing two types of intention diagrams: one based on past user queries and another derived from the intentions of web designers for cases without historical user data. This dual approach not only captures the semantic essence of images more effectively but also addresses the multi-faceted meanings of search keywords. Our experimental results confirm that incorporating psychological dimensions into image search mechanisms substantially improves precision, facilitating more accurate and user-aligned image retrieval. This pioneering approach is the first to apply psychological profiling in enhancing image search engine functionalities, marking a significant advancement in digital image retrieval technologies. © 2025 IEEE.

Optimization studies in truss problems produce different results according to different optimization conditions, which leads to significant changes in the results obtained. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the Tree-Seed Algorithm (TSA) in solving the frequency-constrained 10-bar truss optimization problem, a well-known benchmark in structural engineering characterized by its complex, non-linear, and multi-modal design space. The TSA, inspired by natural processes of tree growth and seed dispersion, is evaluated in the truss problem for its stability, computational efficiency, and ability to find optimal solutions. Through rigorous testing involving 51 independent runs, the TSA consistently achieves optimal solutions with a mean objective function value of 554.4549 and a standard deviation of 1.4049. The algorithm demonstrates rapid convergence, typically within 100 iterations. The design parameters of the frequency-constrained 10-bar truss optimization problem were found by TSA within stability. These findings highlight the TSA's effectiveness and reliability, establishing it as a robust tool for tackling complex engineering optimization problems and suggesting its potential for broader applications in structural optimization. © 2024 IEEE.

An optimal charging profile for Li-ion batteries is proposed in this paper. The objective of the charging process is to minimize the charging time of a Li-ion battery while concurrently minimizing its energy losses. To address this challenge, a multi-objective evolutionary optimization algorithm, SPEA2, is employed. For this purpose, the extraction of electrical parameters for the equivalent circuit model of the Li-ion battery is addressed. Thereafter, the polarization voltages of the Li-ion battery are utilized as a key criterion in the SPEA2 optimization algorithm. Additionally, a power loss analysis of the onboard charger converter is conducted, and simulation results are presented to validate the theoretical analysis. The results demonstrate that the proposed charging method has reduced the charging time by 16.17% and the power losses of the charger system by 6.08% compared to the Constant Current-Constant Voltage (CC-CV) charging profile. © 2025 IEEE.

In this digital era, users frequently share their thoughts, preferences, and ideas through social media, which reflect their Basic Human Values. Basic Human Values (aka values) are the fundamental aspects of human behavior, which define what we consider important, and worth having and pursue them. Existing studies identify the values of individuals from different social network usages such as Facebook and Reddit. However, discovering the similarity (or diversity) of value priorities among the members in a group is important since we can reveal many interesting insights such as finding a set of target customers, identifying the chain of misdeed groups, searching for similar acquaintances in workplaces, etc. In this paper, a graph dataset is compiled using the strongest correlation among the features and then we apply a graph clustering technique to identify a suitable hedonist group (i.e., one dimension of values) for users’ recommendations. Then, we also propose a behavior based (i.e., value) group recommendation technique by analyzing users’ contextual and psychological attributes. Finally, we validate those group members in real life by introducing two hypotheses. In particular, we analyze the tweets of a total of 1140 users collected from Twitter. We obtain a substantial intra-cluster correlation coefficient (ICC) and silhouette clustering coefficient (SCC) scores of 65% and 76%, respectively, among the members in our discovered group. © The Author(s) 2024.

Accurate segmentation of brain tumors is a critical task in medical imaging, aiding diagnosis, treatment planning, and prognosis. This paper introduces a novel framework for brain tumor segmentation that leverages a Dual-Branch Vision Transformer (DB-ViT) integrated with a Region-Attention Fusion Network (RAFN) to address the limitations of conventional convolutional neural networks. The DB-ViT processes multimodal MRI sequences, including T1, T1c, T2, and FLAIR, to extract global contextual features while preserving modality-specific information. Simultaneously, the RAFN enhances segmentation precision by refining local features and focusing on critical regions of interest through an attention mechanism. The proposed method effectively combines global and local feature representations, ensuring accurate delineation of tumor boundaries. Extensive experiments were conducted on the BraTS dataset, demonstrating the superiority of our approach over existing methods such as U-Net, Attention U-Net, and TransUNet. Quantitative evaluation metrics, including Dice Score and Intersection over Union (IoU), indicate significant improvements in segmentation accuracy. The framework also achieves computational efficiency and robustness across diverse tumor morphologies. Visual results further validate its ability to enhance boundary delineation, particularly in heterogeneous tumor regions. The proposed methodology represents a significant advancement in automated medical image analysis, offering potential for real-time clinical applications. Future work aims to explore broader clinical validation and real-time deployment of this framework. © 2025 IEEE.

This study presents a detailed survey on the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) for predictive maintenance and monitoring of cultural heritage, focusing on museums and exhibitions. The integration of IoT in these fields offers significant potential for optimizing maintenance and supervision of heritage resources while also enhancing maintenance strategies. This review examines the application of IoT devices, data analysis, and predictive algorithms in monitoring the state of heritage resources to improve tourist experiences and conserve cultural resources. Key enabling technologies can enable adaptive interactions and engagement with enhanced navigation. Visualization technologies are also common, offering hands-on displays. The study also emphasizes the value of accessibility and interactivity, providing personalization and content sharing features. Several initiatives prioritize the delivery of digital content through mobile applications, internet browsers, and downloadable *** study examines how IoT-enabled predictive maintenance systems can recognize potential hazards, like resource decay or environmental dangers, enabling immediate action. As the demand for distance learning has increased, so has the need for electronic exams (e-exams). In e-exams, where video monitoring is used, one of the main tasks of the proctors is to detect cheating in exam videos. Monitoring a large number of videos is challenging for proctors, and summarizing videos to focus on cheating scenes can significantly reduce the difficulty of the monitoring task. Several important points should be taken into account in e-exam video summarization, such as various background, the clothes of each examinee, and the variety of video surveillance devices. One of the most effective methods for video summarization is the use of deep neural networks. However, the existing methods require a large dataset for training which is time consuming, besides, they are unable to accurately summarize the video containing a new background scene. In this paper, a deep learning-based method is proposed to recognize the objects in the scene and monitor any change in the examinee's body parts with different priorities. In this approach, the abnormal behaviors of the examinee can be automatically detected without the need for a pre-training with multiple background, then the video is automatically summarized. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method, while having a high processing speed, can summarize exam videos up to 70%. © 2023 IEEE.

Sleep quality prediction in Internet of Things (IoT) involves leveraging a system of interrelated devices to gather as well as analyse related data. Smart devices like wearable devices or smart mattresses endlessly monitor many parameters such as body movement, heart rate, and environmental situations in bedroom. Real-time recommendations and feedback transported to consumers, allowing them to create informed lifestyle changes for superior sleep hygiene. As IoT ecosystem continues to develop, a combination of various data streams as well as classy analytics holds assurance for further refining sleep quality forecasts and improving overall well-being. The article designs a Bald Eagle Search Algorithm with Hierarchical Deep Learning for Internet of Things Assisted Sleep Quality Recognition (BESHDL-SQP) technique. The purpose of the BESHDL-SQP technique is to recognize and classify the quality of the sleep level in the IoT environment. In the presented BESHDL-SQP technique, the preliminary stage of data pre-processing using min–max normalization involved to normalize the input data. For predicting sleep quality, hierarchical long short-term memory (LSTM) technique exploited. Lastly, BES model utilized for optimal hyperparameter selection of LSTM method which helps in attaining enhanced results. To validate better performance of BESHDL-SQP technique, a huge range of simulation analysis is carried out.
