In recent years, manufacturers are working parallel in developing and integrating two in-vehicle systems, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI). ADAS's purpose is to increase safety and aid the driver while the vehicle is in motion, by using various sensors to perceive the vehicle surrounding or the driver's errors and respond accordingly. Consumer applications in the IVI domain would significantly benefit from accessing such vehicle-specific data. Unfortunately, due to active vehicle system architecture requirements, the IVI domain cannot achieve communication with the ADAS by following traditional signal-oriented mechanisms. In addition, Android paved its way into the IVI domain as the most common Operating System because of its high flexibility and customization, but without being adapted for communication with ADAS. This paper offers a solution for enabling Android applications to access ADAS data via Java services. Data is procured over GENIVI company's SOME/IP-based communication middleware, integrated within the services. Communication performance is measured, evaluated, and limitations are identified. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper investigates the validity of Granger causality in the context of the Croatian power system by analyzing time series data for electricity production from gas and renewable sources. We assess the correlations between production variables and market prices using data from the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform and the Croatian Transmission System Operator. A Vector Autoregression (VAR) model is applied to evaluate the causal relationships among these variables. Our findings suggest that the observed Granger causality is spurious, indicating potential flaws in relying solely on statistical causality tests without understanding the underlying power system organizational dynamics. Future research should focus on examining other components and regions to validate these findings and refine causality detection methods. © 2024 IEEE.

Flipped Classroom (FC) is an active learning design requiring the students to engage in pre-class learning activities to prepare for face-to-face sessions. Identifying FC learning behaviors that lead to academic success remains a challenge. This paper addresses this challenge by conducting an empirical study in an undergraduate software engineering course employing the FC model. The empirical study draws on the data from an intelligent tutoring system that captured the learning traces of students performing pre-class activities. These traces provided indicators of students’ regularity of engagement, which were then matched to their final exam scores. Regression models were trained to predict final exam scores based on the regularity of engagement indicators. Students were clustered based on their regularity of engagement indicators to uncover actionable feedback for future course iterations. The case study confirms the generalizability of earlier findings that the regularity of engagement is vital for student performance and that course-specific predictors significantly impact the models’ prediction performance. In an era where cities are growing at an unprecedented pace and facing an array of challenges, from increasing population densities to aging infrastructure, it has become imperative to leverage advanced technology to ensure efficient and sustainable urban development. The work in this paper is focused on enabling and improving the monitoring of city infrastructure based on variables trends, setting alarm limit values and developing various predictive maintenance diagnostic algorithms. Based on the collected data, an information interface is developed for communication with the operator of the lighting system, which includes visualizations of various indicators such as the density of road and pedestrian traffic, weather conditions in different locations, lighting level, electricity consumption and identification of the work of individual lighting poles. © 2023 IEEE.

5G wireless communication offers higher channel capacity, high data rate, sufficient bandwidth, enhanced coverage, and reliable link as compared to the previous generation mobile networks. Also, 5G becomes more relevant with the recent launches of low earth orbit satellites by various ventures like starlink, amazon, one web, etc. As these satellites have heights up to the range from 300 km to 1000 km, the free space path loss decreases drastically which in turn improves the signal reliability and efficient communication at dead spots. With these advancements, antenna researchers have the freedom to design compact, easy to manufacture, with adequate gain user equipment terminal antennas which can be easily integrated in the modern passenger car body. This paper will focus on the recent development in the design considerations of the compact antenna design at sub-6 GHz (n78 frequency band) and mm wave (n278 frequency band) according to 3gpp standards. This manuscript also discusses various design specifications like selection of material for antennas, design complexity, feeding methods, fabrication and measurement challenges and performance parameters which include reflection coefficient, gain, polarization, axial ratio, cross polarization discrimination, radiation efficiency, radiation pattern shape, etc. The proposed antenna design considerations will facilitate the possible integration into the various parts of the car body according to the recent vehicular applications for uninterrupted communication. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. Everyone is curious about knowing functionality of human body. There are many facts and figures that make's human body center of interaction. Our body consist of bone and muscles. Our body contain around 600 muscles. Those muscles have its unique functionality in our body. When our body is attacked by unknown bacterial infection then our skin reacts and we start itching on particular area. Sometime itching is temporary but some time its causes major problems. In this paper we are using EMG data to identify scratch intensity which help us to identify that itching is normal or contain major issues behind them. Artificial Intelligence is one of great invention of human. Its give power to machine to do task just like human with the passage of time Artificial intelligence show great progress to learn new think so far and improving himself leaps and bounds with their prior knowledge. For example, Neural Network. Especially in the Medical Field we will exam that use of deep learning model increase because of their progress. This study investigated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on technology-enabled social interactions using the Social Presence Theory (SPT). Cross-sectional data were collected through an online survey, with participation from 515 Australian adults aged 18 years and above. Bivariate and multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that age group differences significantly predicted satisfaction levels with online interactions, with the 18-40 age group being less satisfied than participants aged 41 and over. In addition, face-to-face interaction was highly preferred over online interactions. Socio-demographic factors such as age, gender, and marital status were significantly associated with the type of interaction individuals reported missing the most when they could not interact face-to-face. Most participants reported missing physical and emotional connection when they could not interact face-to-face. The study adds to the existing knowledge about the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on social interactions, providing insights into both practical paraphernalia and implications for further research. © 2023 ACM.

STEAM interdisciplinary collaborations are essential to address complex 21st-century challenges, as they can offer new ways of learning, knowing, and collaborating with more holistic perspectives on the world. Transdisciplinary problem framing and knowledge creation can furthermore benefit deep and applied learning and guide projects. However, setting up teams across academic disciplines and practices to achieve meaningful and effective outcomes is challenging, and a coherent framework and repeatable approach could aid in their success. Today, no framework for STEAM collaborations addresses the entire collaboration cycle between project partners from diverse academic disciplines and non-academic backgrounds to systematically achieve transdisciplinary knowledge creation. This study presents a STEAM evaluation of a general framework for conducting transdisciplinary research (TDR) in three phases: TDR initiation, TDR management, and transdisciplinary knowledge exchange. This STEAM evaluation was based on the researchers' experience and network of STEAM research and recent projects. A particular focus in this paper is to share insights into the challenges faced by diverse disciplinary collaborations with engineering students and engineers in achieving transdisciplinarity and how a STEAM lens to a TDR framework may help to prepare for or overcome these challenges. The study is expected to contribute to the development of a comprehensive framework for STEAM collaborations that could be used by researchers and practitioners to achieve transdisciplinary knowledge creation, be that in their research or teaching. © 2023 IEEE.

An octuple-pass configuration for reflectance confocal system is demonstrated. By utilizing the lens in quadrantal division as well as retro-reflection approach, the same propagating beam is configured to pass the lens eight times and directed to hit the same scanning point on the test surface as much as four times. With the increased number of passes, it is shown that the axial resolution of octuple-pass system is four times better than that of the conventional double-pass system. Keeping track of time is regarded as an essential human behavior. The question of how the brain deals with temporal information remains a subject of scholarly debate. The current investigation aims to explore the mechanism underlying time perception by extracting fractal dimension from an electroencephalogram (EEG) signal and its frequency bands. To accomplish this, Higuchi’s fractal dimension was calculated for 42 healthy subjects’ electroencephalogram (EEG) signal and its sub-bands during the time perception task. The EEG signal was recorded from 19 channels. Subsequently, a statistical analysis was conducted to compare participants who underestimated versus those who overestimated the elapsed time and significantly different channels were presented. The findings suggest an elevated level of fractal dimensionality in persons who displayed a tendency to overestimate time. The EEG signal and Gamma rhythm emerged as the most distinguishing signals between the two cohorts. The contrast in fractal dimension between the two groups was predominantly apparent in the parietal and central channels. To summarize, an increased level of complexity is discernible in the EEG signal and high-frequency rhythms when there is an overestimation of temporal duration. It can be asserted that the employment of FD yields presents an exceptional approach to comprehending cerebral functionalities, notably temporal perception. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
