Software cost estimation is a crucial aspect of software project management,significantly impacting productivity and *** research investigates the impact of various feature selection techniques on software cost estimation accuracy using the CoCoMo NASA dataset,which comprises data from 93 unique software projects with 24 *** applying multiple machine learning algorithms alongside three feature selection methods,this study aims to reduce data redundancy and enhance model *** findings reveal that the principal component analysis(PCA)-based feature selection technique achieved the highest performance,underscoring the importance of optimal feature selection in improving software cost estimation *** is demonstrated that our proposed method outperforms the existing method while achieving the highest precision,accuracy,and recall rates.

The deployment of distributed multi-controllers for Software-Defined Networking(SDN)architecture is an emerging solution to improve network scalability and ***,the network control failure affects the dynamic resource allocation in distributed networks resulting in network disruption and low ***,we consider the control plane fault tolerance for cost-effective and accurate controller location models during control plane *** fault-tolerance strategy has been applied to distributed SDN control architecture,which allows each switch to migrate to next controller to enhance network *** this paper,the Reliable and Dynamic Mapping-based Controller Placement(RDMCP)problem in distributed architecture is framed as an optimization problem to improve the system reliability,quality,and *** considering the bound constraints,a heuristic state-of-the-art Controller Placement Problem(CPP)algorithm is used to address the optimal assignment and reassignment of switches to nearby controllers other than their regular *** algorithm identifies the optimal controller location,minimum number of controllers,and the expected assignment costs after failure at the lowest effective cost.A metaheuristic Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)algorithm was combined with RDMCP to form a hybrid approach that improves objective function optimization in terms of reliability and *** effectiveness of our hybrid RDMCP-PSO was then evaluated using extensive experiments and compared with other baseline *** findings demonstrate that the proposed hybrid technique significantly increases the network performance regarding the controller number and load balancing of the standalone heuristic CPP algorithm.

Person re-identification (ReID) is increasingly important due to the expansion of surveillance cameras. ReID can effectively operate in various conditions, making it suitable for security, retail analytics, and smart city applications. We propose a transformer-based model, DeepChangeVIT-ReID, fine-tuned with triplet loss, using the DeepChange dataset. We address long-term ReID challenges, including pose variations, camera angle differences, and clothing alterations. DeepChangeVIT-ReID achieves state-of-the-art performance, significantly improving Rank-1 accuracy compared to existing methods on the DeepChange dataset. © 2024 IEEE.

Software Quality Assurance (SQA) is a way to verify quality in the software. It is the set of activities which make certain processes, procedures as well as standards fit for the project and implemented appropriately. SQA is a process which works parallel to the development of software. It concentrates on improving the software development process so problems can be avoided. SQA is an activity that is applied throughout the software process, which will bring value to the project by saving money and time, implementing stable, competitive, and safe product, building constant process, helping to meet client expectations, and will create good developer’s reputation among the users. SQA can give significant impact to the software project in an academic environment with high defect removal efficiency which decreases the cost of software development and satisfy the users and target customers with respective to their expectations. Based on the implementation of SQA in International Student Module (ISM), the result showed that the error could be minimized beside reduced time effort in developing the software. © 2023 SPIE.

An Effective Hybrid Metaheuristic Algorithm for Solving Global Optimization Algorithms

Recently, the Honey Badger Algorithm (HBA) was proposed as a metaheuristic algorithm. Honey badger hunting behaviour inspired the development of this algorithm. In the exploitation phase, HBA performs poorly and stagnates at the local best solution. On the other hand, the sand cat swarm optimization (SCSO) is a very competitive algorithm compared to other common metaheuristic algorithms since it has outstanding performance in the exploitation phase. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to hybridize HBA with SCSO so that the SCSO can overcome deficiencies of the HBA to improve the quality of the solution. The SCSO can effectively exploit optimal solutions. For the research conducted in this paper, a hybrid metaheuristic algorithm called HBASCSO was developed. The proposed approach was evaluated against challenging CEC benchmark instances taken from CEC2015, CEC2017, and CEC2019 benchmark suites The HBASCSO is also evaluated concerning the original HBA, SCSO, as well as several other recently proposed algorithms. To demonstrate that the proposed method performs significantly better than other competitive algorithms, 30 independent runs of each algorithm were evaluated to determine the best, worst, mean, and standard deviation of fitness functions. In addition, the Wilcoxon rank-sum test is used as a non-parametric comparison, and it has been found that the proposed algorithm outperforms other algorithms. Hence, the HBASCSO achieves an optimum solution that is better than the original algorithms. © The Author(s) 2024.

Triple-Band Circular Ring Monopole Antenna for RF Power Harvesting Applications

This paper presents a simple and efficient approach for an antenna design and construction based on an I-shaped slot-loaded triple wideband microstrip monopole antenna with novel radio frequency (RF) power/energy harvesting capability. The proposed antenna takes advantage of circular ring shape properties, loaded with an I-shaped slot with degraded ground structure (DGS) to improve the input performances of the conventional planar circular microstrip patch antenna (C-patch). Input impedance and magnetic field radiation pattern are calculated using the electromagnetic theory of transmission line in traveling waves and resonant cavity TE11 field mode, respectively. The proposed antenna is configured on thin lossy substrate material RO4003C of volume 64.800×57.000×1.524 (in mm3), relative dielectric permittivity Εr = 3.55, and numerically investigated using CST MWS. The prototype of the proposed antenna has been fabricated and tested. The experimental results show that the fabricated antenna exhibits an impressive 142% (2.98-11.11 GHz), 21.3% (11.54-14.42 GHz), and 19.6% (15.78-19.44 GHz) fractional bandwidth (FBW) for the resonant frequency of 5.73, 13.55, and 18.69 GHz respectively and peak gain of 4.2 dBi at the frequency of 5.8 GHz. Experimentally, the proposed antenna can be used in multiple applications like 2.4 GHz (2.401-2.495 GHz) Wi-Fi band/5 GHz (5.170-5.875 GHz) WLAN band/(3.1-10.6 GHz) US UWB at the view of the achieved lower band, FR3 6G operation regarding the obtained middle/intermediate band, and the future wireless and millimeter-wave communication systems according to the obtained upper band. © 2025, Advanced Electromagnetics. Artificial intelligence-inspired comprehensive framework for desertification prediction

Desertification greatly affects land deterioration, farming efficiency, economic growth, and health, especially in Gulf nations. Climate change has worsened desertification, making developmental issues in the area even more difficult. This research presents an enhanced framework utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) for ongoing monitoring, data gathering, and analysis to evaluate desertification patterns. The framework utilizes Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) to categorize IoT data, while a low-latency processing method on edge computing platforms enables effective detection of desertification trends. The classified data is subsequently analyzed using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) optimized with a Genetic Algorithm (GA) for forecasting decisions. Using cloud computing infrastructure, the ANN-GA model examines intricate data connections to forecast desertification risk elements. Moreover, the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model is employed to predict desertification over varied time intervals. Experimental simulations illustrate the effectiveness of the suggested framework, attaining enhanced performance in essential metrics: Temporal Delay (103.68 s), Classification Efficacy—Sensitivity (96.44 %), Precision (95.56 %), Specificity (96.97 %), and F-Measure (96.69 %)—Predictive Efficiency—Accuracy (97.76 %) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) (1.95 %)—along with Reliability (93.73 %) and Stability (75 %). The results of classification effectiveness and prediction performance emphasize the framework's ability to detect high-risk zones and predict the severity of desertification. This innovative method improves the comprehension of desertification processes and encourages sustainable land management practices, reducing the socio-economic impacts of desertification and bolstering at-risk ecosystems.
