The aim of this review is to explore the relationship between the architecture of microservices and antisocial behavior. Microservice architecture is a software design approach that involves decomposing a system into small, independent services that can offer benefits such as flexibility and scalability. Expected result is to analyze dataset of statuses, which defines the length of time the status displays on the user’s device. Because people spend time on social networks at every opportunity, even for hours. When combined with the time-valued, we try to gain a deeper understanding of social networks and users behavior. They are forced into this behavior through the feedback loop mechanism of the neurotransmitter Dopamine. Main goal is to understand how to minimize the impact of antisocial behavior on social networks and what exactly makes users spend a disproportionate amount of time on these platforms. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Sustainability factors of building information modeling (BIM) for a successful construction project management life cycle in Indonesia

Building information modeling (BIM) is an important asset in construction projects from conceptual planning to the preconstruction and operation stages. While many construction projects in developed countries are gradually implementing BIM, the development of this technology in developing countries is still lagging. Some research shows that the application of BIM for certain uses can improve the performance of construction projects, but in Indonesia, its use is still very low. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that can answer the challenges in the sustainability of BIM implementation in construction projects in Indonesia for success in its life cycle. Data were obtained from 44 respondents who answered the questionnaire questions, including owners, supervisory consultants, and contractors representing construction parties in Indonesia. Empirical analysis using multiple linear regression states that there are five factors that, if used to sustainably support the application of BIM, will affect the success of construction project management in its life cycle. The five factors rank as follows based on the results of the analysis: Understanding and Awareness of the importance of BIM;Establishment of BIM standards, codes, rules, and regulations;Competencies and Skills;Commitment and Consistency;and Monitoring and Evaluation. The development of BIM has resulted in new work processes and new ways to interact in construction projects throughout their life cycles. © 2024, The Author(s).

Data security aims to achieve confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. To reach confidentiality, different encryption algorithms are needed. The most used today are RSA, AES, and Diffie-Helman. Although these algorithms are considered secure today, as the performance of computers increases, their security is radically reduced. Concerning the increasing performance of modern computers and the effort to use encryption algorithms in devices with limited memory, new encryption algorithms are being developed. Although post-quantum encryption algorithms are considered the most promising direction in this area, some scientists are also dealing with mutations of encryption algorithms. In this article, we deal with the design of two simple encryption algorithms - Vigener's cipher and matrix encryption. Next, we test these algorithms from the point of view of time requirements. © 2024 IEEE.

The spread of fake news on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X has become a significant issue in the digital era due to its negative societal and informational impacts. The rapid dissemination of unverified information often leads to misinformation and confusion, highlighting the critical need for reliable detection methods. This study aims to classify and detect fake news by optimizing the Support Vector Machine (SVM) machine learning algorithm using the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TFIDF) technique. Two publicly available Kaggle datasets, containing labeled fake and real news, were utilized as the foundation for this research. The research results demonstrate that the SVM algorithm, when optimized with TF-IDF, achieved the highest accuracy of 99.6% compared to other commonly used machine learning algorithms such as Random Forest and Logistic Regression. This highlights the effectiveness of TF-IDF in improving the feature extraction process, enabling the model to better differentiate between fake and real news. These findings underscore the potential of SVM as a reliable tool for combating misinformation. To further enhance fake news detection, future research should explore the use of more comprehensive, multilingual, and complex datasets to better reflect real-world scenarios. Additionally, employing transformer-based approaches, such as BERT, GPT, or similar models, could provide a deeper understanding of linguistic context and semantic relationships, ultimately improving the robustness and accuracy of fake news detection systems. © 2025 IEEE.

Determining choices can be a challenging task for consumers. Recommendation systems serve as tools to provide suggestions, aiding users in decision-making processes. A major concern in recommendation systems is the issue of diversity, particularly in content-based approaches where recommendations are based on the attributes of items that users have previously liked. This can lead to overspecialization, where the system provides recommendations that are highly similar to each other, reducing the variety or diversity of suggestions. To address this issue, this research focuses on improving the recommendations diversity in a content-based filtering system. The proposed method in this study can be applied to recommendation systems that focus on improving recommendation diversity. The method used to improve recommendation diversity is the implementation of a similarity threshold. This threshold acts as a filtering mechanism, ensuring that the recommended items fall within a specific similarity range relative to the user's preferences, calculated using cosine similarity. Additionally, clustering is used to compare the performance of the model with and without cluster labels. The results demonstrate that applying a similarity threshold effectively enhances recommendation diversity, as reflected by improved individual diversity scores. Notably, the highest individual diversity values were achieved at the first threshold with top-n = 30, where scores reached 0.8240 without cluster labels and 0.8750 with cluster labels. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper addresses the design and implementation of a visualization tool for type checking terms of simply typed lambda calculus. Motivated by the need for a user-friendly and effective tool to understand the type-checking process of programs within this system, we chose to use Elm language to implement a tool. The tool includes step-by-step construction of the type-checking tree, with the ability to control certain aspects of the visualization, such as the abbreviation of context and the displaying of rule names used. A successful usability test of the system highlights its effectiveness in improving understanding of simply typed lambda calculus and its ability to provide a clear and interactive interface for users. This tool can be a useful teaching aid in university courses dedicated to type theory. © 2024 IEEE.

The article builds on research focused on the design and construction of an Intelligent Data Layer (IDL) using Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks, which can sometimes be inefficient. The aim of this article is to verify whether IDL functions as an optimization technique in different hardware environments. Previous research has shown that IDL can significantly improve the performance of applications, especially in loading and processing large amounts of data. However, this improvement was observed on standard test hardware. Therefore, we conducted this testing, which includes tests on different hardware configurations, specifically a server and a test workstation. The tests focus on data retrieval speed, memory usage efficiency, and overall application performance when using IDL compared to traditional approaches. The results of the tests will help determine whether IDL is a universal optimization technique or whether its effectiveness depends on specific hardware conditions. This knowledge is crucial for us for the future development and deployment of IDL in real-world applications. The experiments were conducted in an environment with an Nginx web server, PHP, and a MySQL database. The tested implementation runs on Symfony and Doctrine. For the individual experiments, a relational database model from previous work was used, which included tables with varying numbers of rows. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper discusses the development and application of linear regression (LR) to predict stock prices in the stock market. The main objective is to analyse the efficiency and accuracy of linear regression in relation to financial markets, and specifically to predict stock prices one day ahead. The paper begins with a detailed review of the related theoretical foundations and existing methods in the field of stock market forecasting. Next, it discusses the formulation of the stock price forecasting problem and the choice of linear regression as a tool to solve it. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the properties of linear regression and its potential contribution to predictive models. The second part of the paper describes the implementation and testing of the LR algorithm, including the design and execution of experiments to evaluate its performance. The results are analysed using graphs and individual numerical predictions that were collected on a sample of multiple firm stocks. These results are described and discussed in detail, assessing their sensitivity to short-term volatility and deviation from fair value. The paper provides a new perspective on the use of linear regression in forecasting stock markets and contributes to a better understanding of its effectiveness and limitations. © 2024 IEEE.

Virtual reality is gaining more and more importance in the neurorehabilitation of patients suffering from the consequences of a stroke, a spinal cord injury, or other conditions. This paper deals with L-NeRVEn, a software solution for after-stroke upper limb neurorehabilitation. L-NeRVEn offers a shared virtual environment, experienced via a VR headset, where animated full-body avatars represent both the therapist and the patient. The patient's task is to imagine a particular movement with his or her disabled limb and the success of this imagination is determined by the processing and classification of the patient's electroencephalography (EEG) signal. The EEG processing component is loosely coupled with the rest of the solution and can be easily replaced. The paper presents the architecture of L-NeRVEn, explains the interaction of its components during a basic therapy procedure, lists certain enhancements of the system implemented on the basis of experts' feedback, and offers perspectives for the future development of the solution. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper is focused on translating the modalities of fundamental temporal logical systems into the language of Transparent Intensional Logic, which represents a very expressive methodology for the logical analysis of natural language. Since the analyzed modalities play an important role in the area of model checking, their translation, carried out based on the explicit intensional and temporal character of Transparent Intensional Logic, also initiates further research aimed at connecting these areas. This brings an added value to our paper, whose main result is the presentation of another empirical proof of Transparent Intensional Logic expressiveness. © 2024 IEEE.
