Many countries in the world are becoming more aware of climatic changes, rising pollution, and running out of resources, predicting their impact on the future of humanity thus giving solutions for slowing down this process. Due to the mass urbanization of our planet, it became highly popular to talk about resilient and smart cities. And while some countries are still on a theoretical level, others, more advanced in their thinking and technical possibilities and with the higher consciousness of the importance of this issue are already putting things into action. European Union gives guidelines on how cities across Europe can improve in the future. There are several good examples of different actions across European countries that make their cities more resilient, more sustainable, and pleasant for living. Contrarily, in the cities of the developing European countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, the idea of resilient and Smart cities is still in its infancy. This paper aims to introduce different parameters that make cities more resilient and to show several of the best practices from Europe which use Smart city technologies while questioning the current situation in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Authors are introducing potentials of Sarajevo and smaller projects that can be starting points in the process of improvement of habitat climate in this city and its transformation to a smart and sustainable city. © Author(s) 2021. Waste is the main problem for the *** waste for various useful applications has a benefit for the *** work has been studied for handling pineapple peel waste to make composite film bacterial cellulose nanocomposite membrane(BCNM)with addition graphite nanoplatelet(GNP).The concentration of GNP in the membrane influence the membrane *** bacterial cellulose(BC)pellicle was synthesized by using media from pineapple peel waste *** pellicle is cleaned with water and NaOH solution to be free from *** is synthesized through the mechanical disintegration *** results of disintegration using high pressure homogenizer at 150 bar and five ***/GNP is synthesized with varying addition of GNP of 2.5,5.0,10 and 100 wt%of dry bacterial nanocellulose(BNC).The BC and GNP solution were dried in an oven for 14 h at 80℃.BCNM morphology was observed using *** is dispersed and distributed in the BC matrix as *** analysis shows many peaks of BNC less pronounced with increasing of *** higher concentration of GNP,the rougher of *** optimum tensile strength of BCNM was achieved after addition GNP of 2.5 wt%.

We study the carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)activity and selectivity of Fe single-atom catalyst(Fe-SAC)and Fe dual-atom catalyst(Fe-DAC)active sites at the interior of graphene and the edges of graphitic nanopore by using a combination of DFT calculations and microkinetic *** trend of limiting potentials for CO_(2)RR to produce CO can be described by using either the adsorption energy of COOH,CO,or their ***_(2)RR process with reasonable reaction rates can be achieved only on the active site configurations with weak tendencies toward CO *** efficiency of CO_(2)RR on a catalyst depends on its ability to suppress the parasitic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),which is directly related to the behavior of H adsorption on the catalyst’s active *** find that the edges of the graphitic nanopore can act as potential adsorption sites for an H atom,and in some cases,the edge site can bind the H atom much stronger than the main Fe *** linear scaling between CO and H adsorptions is broken if this condition is *** condition also allows some edge active site configurations to have their CO_(2)RR limiting potential lower than the HER process favoring CO production over H2 production.

This work focuses on the historical journey of the Isa Bey Hammam from its foundation in the fifteenth century all the way to today. It explores the possibilities of maintaining cultural heritage via integration into modern life. Hammams in Bosnia and Herzegovina represent an architectural typology of the Ottoman period that is directly related to antiquity and the hammams in Ancient Greece and Rome. The first hammam in Sarajevo was built by Isa Bey Ishaković, the founder of the city. Its form was radically changed during the Austro-Hungarian period (1878–1918). Today, it functions as both a hammam and a hotel. This paper aims to underline the historical continuity of these facilities in relation to previous historical periods, but also the changes in style, form, and function introduced to Ottoman hammam architecture over the course of centuries, despite the scarcity of material remains and historical sources. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This study investigates how artificial intelligence (AI) can transform audit processes, including how AI can be used in businesses to execute non-technical audit tasks and what effect this will have on those tasks. A qualitative case study methodology is used in the research design to give detailed insights into how AI is being adopted by businesses. This study aims to analyze the aspects that impact AI implementation from the viewpoints of managers, auditors, and other stakeholders. The findings show that artificial intelligence (AI) has a great deal of promise for non-technical audit procedures in businesses. AI can automate tedious jobs, evaluate large data sets to identify hazards and enhance teamwork and communication. These developments may lead to increased productivity, maybe better audit quality, and more effective processes. But there are still difficulties. Data quality is essential to the success of AI integration, and auditors may exhibit bias in favor of human professionals. Careful thought must also be given to ethical issues about transparency and possible job displacement. All things considered, this study adds significant knowledge to both the academic literature and real-world auditing applications. It improves our comprehension of the function of AI in the industry and provides useful information for people involved in information technology development, audit, and legislation. © 2024 IEEE.

In this study, during the turning process of Ti6Al4V alloy, which is difficult to machine, nanofluid, whose base fluid is vegetable oil (sunflower oil), was applied to the cutting zone with the minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) technique. Thermal conductivity coefficients and dynamic viscosities of nanofluids prepared by adding hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) nanoparticles (65-75 nm) at different concentration rates (0.5% and 1%) and surfactant (Sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) to vegetable oil were measured. Additionally, the stability of the prepared nanofluids was observed for 15 months. In turning experiments, 4 different cutting speeds (50, 75, 100 and 125 m/min), 4 different feed rates (0.05, 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20 mm/rev) and 4 different cooling methods (dry, PureMQL, 0.5% NanoMQL and 1% NanoMQL) were used as cut off parameters. The effect of the change in these parameters on surface roughness (Ra), temperature in the cutting zone (T) and flank wear on the tools (Vb) was investigated experimentally and analytically. As a result of the research, the experimental results were evaluated using variance analysis, signal/noise (S/N) analysis and artificial neural networks (ANN) methods. As a result of the measurements and observations, it was determined that the nanofluid with 0.5% concentration had the best stability. The MQL method (0.5% NanoMQL) using this nanofluid exhibited the best machining performance. According to the ANOVA and S/N analysis results, it was seen that the parameter that most affects surface roughness is feed rate (95%), the parameter that most affects the temperature in the cutting zone is cooling conditions (70%), and the parameter that most affects tool wear is cutting speeds (45%). The prediction performances of ANN and Taguchi approaches were examined and the prediction success of these approaches was more than 98.5% and 80.8%, respectively. Analogy can be considered as an approach in teaching an abstract concept, where in electricity related to capacitor, water and containers are sometimes used. In this work we try to summerize available reports related to this. Usually, the water flow (WF) represents electric current, water height (WH) is an analogy to electric potential difference, container floor area (FA) can be viewed as capacitance, hose (HS) is as connecting wire, and water reservoir with large floor area (WR) behaves as a battery. The voltage saturation while charging the capacitor and voltage decaying while discharging capacitor can be obtained with the use of WH, FA, HS, and WR elements. Even it is not so ideal, but the observation tends to show qualitatively similar curves. We also present comparation table between electric circuit and water circuit. Unfortunately, not every aspect in electric side has the counter part in the water side. The difference between the two systems are clear and must be noticed to avoid misconception for the teaching target. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Choosing a quality image is the goal of image processing of two-dimensional (2D) images through computer vision. Image processing consists of stages, namely acquisition, pre-processing (enhancement), segmentation, representation and description, as well as introduction and interpretation. Edge detection is a stage in image processing that aims to find the pattern of an image. This study analyzes the quality of 2D images through edge detection techniques with a comparison of various techniques and error analysis. The comparison of edge detection in this study was performed on images produced using some techniques, such as Canny, Sobel, Prewitt, and Roberts. To analyze the error, Mean Square Error (MSE) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) were used. This study was conducted using Matlab by comparing six different images of lung, car, leaf, apple, cat, and motorcycle. The results show that using edge detection with the Canny technique may result in the best MSE and PSNR values. Consistent results of six images detected also show that Canny technique produced the best MSE and PSNR values among the results produced by the Sobel, Prewitt, and Roberts techniques. © (2023), (International Association of Engineers). In this study, an inquiry was conducted to examine the influence of temperature on the crystal structure of sodium titanate (NTO). NTO was synthesized using NaCl, TTIP, citric acid, and ethylene glycol as precursors. The NaCl-citric acid precursor was dissolved in purified water, while the titanium precursor was prepared by blending ethylene glycol with TTIP. After vigorous stirring, the precursor solution was placed in a Teflon-coated stainless steel autoclave, subjected to preheating, and subsequently dried to form a gel. The gel underwent calcination at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1000 °C for 3 hours each. The resulting samples were rinsed with deionized water and dried to eliminate residual NaCl. Based on the results of XRD characterization, the NaTi4O8 phase experienced decomposition into rutile form when the calcination temperature was increased from 800-1000 °C and began to be identified as a rutile phase at a temperature of 900 °C. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
