The Advanced Space Systems technology Laboratory (ASSTL) is a new facility to be designed and built at the Technion, aimed at high-end research in the field of space systems technology. Primarily, the laboratory will conduct research in the innovative area of distributed spacecraft systems, specifically in dynamics and control of multiple spacecraft formation flying (SFF). This document presents the research areas for which the laboratory will serve as an experimental testbed, including nonlinear cooperative control, relative position and attitude sensing and space borne sparse-aperture imaging. A considerable effort is devoted to describing the laboratory components, including an air bearing table and model spacecraft to be developed and designed according to strict performance specifications.

Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3N4) is a promising material for photocatalytic hydrogen production owing to its tunable band structure and high charge carrier density, however, it displays a high carrier recombination *** engineering can solve this problem by providing active sites within g-C3N4to accelerate the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes and enhance its solar light absorption. Previous studies have implied that there exists a defect concentration threshold for obtaining the maximum photocatalytic hydrogen production performance, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. In this study, the relationship between charge carrier density and exciton recombination was investigated to address this issue. A series of g-C3N4photocatalysts with different tri-coordinate nitrogen(N3C) vacancy concentrations were synthesized using in-situ coprecipitation polymerization. The catalytic performance is related to the vacancy concentration, higher vacancy concentration will lead to higher carrier separation efficiency and carrier density of g-C3N4, as well as better photocatalytic hydrogen production performance. However, when excessive vacancies act as recombination centers, the charge carrier recombination rate is increased, which will also adversely affect the photocatalytic hydrogen production performance.

This research explores the various factors influencing the severity of injuries motorcyclists sustain across different collision scenarios. The study considers the types of vehicles involved, including motorcycle(MC), cars, pickup trucks, vans, and trucks. The study is grounded in an analysis of road crashes in Thailand from 2016 to 2019. Recognizing the unique characteristics inherent in each collision type, the study categorizes crashes into six distinct models for a comprehensive analysis. Each model is constructed using the random parameter logit with unobserved heterogeneity in means. Notably, all models incorporate random parameters, with the exception of the MC vs. truck model. Despite some consistent factors across most models, there are noteworthy variations in parameters when comparing different vehicle types. In the context of single-motorcycle crashes,speed limit violation emerges as a critical factor. For the MC vs. MC model, crashes happening from midnight to early morning are significant. The presence of a passenger(pillion) is a key determinant in the MC vs. car model. Meanwhile, in the MC vs. pickup truck model, crashes occurring under poor light conditions from midnight to early morning are of particular importance. The MC vs. van model notably highlights the involvement of male riders. Lastly, the MC vs. truck model draws attention to crashes happening on weekends. By creating specific crash models for diverse vehicle types, this study enhances our understanding of motorcycle crashes. The findings provide valuable insights to inform the development of policies, the design of safety campaigns, the creation of training programs, and the evaluation of road safety.

In the RSSI-based positioning algorithm,regarding the problem of a great conflict between precision and cost,a low-power and low-cost synergic localization algorithm is proposed,where effective methods are adopted in each phase of the localization process and fully use the detective information in the network to improve the positioning precision and *** the ranging period,the power attenuation factor is obtained through the wireless channel modeling,and the RSSI value is transformed into *** the positioning period,the preferred reference nodes are used to calculate *** the position optimization period,Taylor expansion and least-squared iterative update algorithms are used to further improve the location *** the positioning,the notion of cooperative localization is introduced,in which the located node satisfying certain demands will be upgraded to a reference node so that it can participate in the positioning of other nodes,and improve the coverage and positioning *** results show that on the same network conditions,the proposed algorithm in this paper is similar to the Taylor series expansion algorithm based on the actual coordinates,but much higher than the basic least square algorithm,and the positioning precision is improved rapidly with the reduce of the range error.

Point cloud completion aims to infer complete point clouds based on partial 3D point cloud *** previous methods apply coarseto-fine strategy networks for generating complete point ***,such methods are not only relatively time-consuming but also cannot provide representative complete shape features based on partial *** this paper,a novel feature alignment fast point cloud completion network(FACNet)is proposed to directly and efficiently generate the detailed shapes of *** aligns high-dimensional feature distributions of both partial and complete point clouds to maintain global information about the complete *** its decoding process,the local features from the partial point cloud are incorporated along with the maintained global information to ensure complete and time-saving generation of the complete point *** results show that FACNet outperforms the state-of-theart on PCN,Completion3D,and MVP datasets,and achieves competitive performance on ShapeNet-55 and KITTI ***,FACNet and a simplified version,FACNet-slight,achieve a significant speedup of 3–10 times over other state-of-the-art methods.
