The crucial factor in ensuring the reliability of any power transformer lies in thoroughly examining the analysis of dissolved gases (DG). However, there have been instances where the DG of the insulating oil alone has not been sufficient to assess its suitability. This study focuses on a posteriority analysis of the DG for both Mineral Oil (MO) and Natural Ester (NE). The DG analysis (DGA) results of MO and Natural Esters are compared based on the standards outlined in ASTM D3612-02. Key gases, grouped as group 1 (H2, CO, and CO2) and group 2 (CH4, C2H4, C2H6, and C2H2), are examined in terms of their retention time to determine the oil's suitability under actual transformer conditions. By segregating and interpreting the data of these Key Gases (KG) groups, a comprehensive understanding of their impact is gained, contributing to a deeper comprehension of the subject - UNDERSTANDING KEY GASES. Throughout the analysis, it is observed that the sum of key gases in both MO and natural esters remains below 1000 ppm, which is the safe limit for combustion. Consequently, the significance of this analysis underscores the importance of monitoring key gas proportions in insulating fluids to ensure transformer safety and performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide,significantly impairing motor and cognitive *** rehabilitation is often hindered by the heterogeneity of stroke lesions,variability in recovery patterns,and the complexity of electroencephalography(EEG)signals,which are often contaminated by *** classification of motor imagery(MI)tasks,involving the mental simulation of movements,is crucial for assessing rehabilitation strategies but is challenged by overlapping neural signatures and patient-specific *** address these challenges,this study introduces a graph-attentive convolutional long short-term memory(LSTM)network(GACL-Net),a novel hybrid deep learning model designed to improve MI classification accuracy and ***-Net incorporates multi-scale convolutional blocks for spatial feature extraction,attention fusion layers for adaptive feature prioritization,graph convolutional layers to model inter-channel dependencies,and bidi-rectional LSTM layers with attention to capture temporal *** on an open-source EEG dataset of 50 acute stroke patients performing left and right MI tasks,GACL-Net achieved 99.52%classification accuracy and 97.43%generalization accuracy under leave-one-subject-out cross-validation,outperforming existing state-of-the-art ***,its real-time processing capability,with prediction times of 33–56 ms on a T4 GPU,underscores its clinical potential for real-time neurofeedback and adaptive *** findings highlight the model’s potential for clinical applications in assessing rehabilitation effectiveness and optimizing therapy plans through precise MI classification.

This article studies the efficiency of street networks of Neighborhood Planning Units. Pedestrian Route Directness quantified the NPUs’ efficiency. The sample includes ten Abu Dhabi NPUs built during two periods: pre-1990 and post-1990. Two scenarios are assessed. First, as-built streets are evaluated based on the PRD test. Second, PRD values of NPUs with different plot densities are compared. Results show that plot density does not affect efficiency. A good network design produces high efficiency regardless of its plot density. The effects of streets on efficiency were further revealed by Betweenness. Combining PRD and Betweenness yields important principles of network design. This method can be applied to assess the connectivity of streets in different contexts. Future research should focus on: How do alleys contribute to the efficiency of NPUs? How do street configurations influence the behavior of movement? And how should NPUs be evaluated as local street systems with global implications?. © 2021 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The purpose of this research is to examine the causal relationship on comprehensive impression evaluation based on the perceived spatial distribution of light. The evaluation grid method was conducted to derive a causal hypothesis on the evaluation of various lighting environments in living-dining rooms, followed by a subjective experiment in actual spaces to analyze the causal relationship between perception and impression through structural equation modeling. The results showed that "brightness" and "dimness" caused by the position of light in the space are perceived as spatial distribution, and "spaciousness" or "interest" with those balances leads to a "preferable" impression through "comfort". © 2023 Architectural Institute of Japan. This work presents multi-fidelity multi-objective infill-sampling surrogate-assisted optimization for airfoil shape *** optimization problem is posed to maximize the lift and drag coefficient ratio subject to airfoil geometry *** Fluid Dynamic(CFD)and XFoil tools are used for high and low-fidelity simulations of the airfoil to find the real objective function value.A special multi-objective sub-optimization problem is proposed for multiple points infill sampling exploration to improve the surrogate model *** validate and further assess the proposed methods,a conventional surrogate-assisted optimization method and an infill sampling surrogate-assisted optimization criterion are applied with multi-fidelity simulation,while their numerical performance is *** results obtained show that the proposed technique is the best performer for the demonstrated airfoil shape *** to this study,applying multi-fidelity with multi-objective infill sampling criteria for surrogate-assisted optimization is a powerful design tool.

Construction companies that started to embrace the circular economy and sustainable development concepts in their organisational mission are often faced with technical and managerial challenges. The reason is that the use of sustainable building materials is not well understood. The aim of this article is to review the applications of sustainability concepts in the entire lifecycle of the building façade and to assess the alignment with universally recognised sustainable practices such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The novelty of this article is the tracing of the whole lifecycle of the most used type of façade from design and material selection to end of life, focusing particularly on the management of waste for achieving sustainability of the built environment. We review state of the art in facade waste management in Australia using published scholarly articles and industry practices. The findings show that while certain lifecycle stages, such as manufacturing and construction, are directly connected to the concept of sustainability, a few gaps within the application of sustainable core values have been revealed. The most significant knowledge gaps were identified: a lack of comparison of environmental impacts of recycled and virgin materials used, lack of consideration of transportation routes and distances, and the end-of-life waste management to divert façade waste from the landfill. This article contributes to the façade waste management domain by summarising the current knowledge. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In order to investigate the coupling mechanisms of bottom fixed offshore wind turbines (OWTs) under environmental loads, the scaled physical model of DTU 10-MW wind turbine with jacket substructure is designed. The geometry scale ratio is selected as 1/75 in the study, and the joint Froude number and elastic similarity is applied to design the scaled model of the support system. Meanwhile, the airfoil of SD7032 is applied and the sectional geometries are updated in the design of blade model, in order to ensure the similarity of aerodynamic loads. Meanwhile, the drivetrain and mechanical control system developed accordingly. Then the performance scaled RNA model is developed. The simulation accuracy of the RNA model is primarily validated. Sequentially, the dynamic tests of the scaled OWT model under different wind speeds are conducted. The coupling mechanisms are obtained from the experimental data, such as the coupling effects between the rotor and support system. It can be seen the remarkable influence of the rotational frequencies on the structural responses of an operation OWT, besides the OWT fundamental frequency. The fundamental and blade collective flap modes dominate the responses of OWT in the parked state. Therefore, it proved the necessity of applying coupled numerical model in the analysis of OWTs. © 2022 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).

Nowadays, the probabilistic-based design method is gradually getting attention as an alternative method in the design and analysis field of offshore wind turbines (OWTs) to substitute the traditional deterministic design methods, which account for the uncertainties existing in structural geometrical parameters, loadings, materials, etc. by employing partial safety factors (PSFs). However, the partial safety factors method is a simplified and indistinct approach because it condenses several uncertain parameters that affect the OWTs' performance into a factor, and it ignores the discrepancy in the structural responses caused by these different uncertainties. In this paper, the sensitivity analysis of the typical load characteristics and structural responses concerning structural geometrical parameters, met–ocean parameters, and material behaviors are investigated for a 5 MW OWT installed on a monopile foundation. The standardized regression coefficients (SRC) method and elementary effects (EE) method are utilized for two different load cases. Results show that the same parameters have different significance rankings according to which load case is considered. In general, the highest influence on deformation and stress output are both governed by these met–ocean parameters. This work points out the parameters that affect the OWT structural response and should be emphasized by the designers. © 2023 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).

Building construction projects encounter various uncertainties in achieving their objectives because of a wide range of causes, such as finance, technology, weather. The effects of these uncertainties on the project objectives are different during each stage of its life cycle (design, construction, and operation). However, due to the high level of sustainability objectives, green building projects can face even more inaccurate cost estimation, uncertain workforce availability, and green material availability risks. Green building projects are reported to confront more risks than conventional buildings because of the need to achieve sustainability goals. This article aims to explore risk mitigation measures in green building projects. To accomplish this, we review the fundamental risk treatment strategies (avoidance, transference, mitigation, escalation, and acceptance) documented in ‘The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)’. We also review and analyse green building project case studies reported in the literature and the standard risk mitigation methods for green building projects. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
