The rapid growth of machine learning(ML)across fields has intensified the challenge of selecting the right algorithm for specific tasks,known as the Algorithm Selection Problem(ASP).Traditional trial-and-error methods have become impractical due to their resource *** Machine Learning(AutoML)systems automate this process,but often neglect the group structures and sparsity in meta-features,leading to inefficiencies in algorithm recommendations for classification *** paper proposes a meta-learning approach using Multivariate Sparse Group Lasso(MSGL)to address these *** method models both within-group and across-group sparsity among meta-features to manage high-dimensional data and reduce multicollinearity across eight meta-feature *** Fast Iterative Shrinkage-Thresholding Algorithm(FISTA)with adaptive restart efficiently solves the non-smooth optimization *** validation on 145 classification datasets with 17 classification algorithms shows that our meta-learning method outperforms four state-of-the-art approaches,achieving 77.18%classification accuracy,86.07%recommendation accuracy and 88.83%normalized discounted cumulative gain.

Named Data Networking as an alternative network for 5G network traffic is required to be able to provide better performance compared to other networks such as internet protocol networks. In NDN wireless, it is known that there is producer mobility and consumer mobility, so optimal mobility management is needed, including the handover process. In this paper the author proposes a simple RSSI-based 5G handover algorithm with distance as a reference RSSI value. This algorithm is a preparation for the handover algorithm on the NDN wireless network. By using the assumed distance value MS to eNB as the basic value for calculating RSSI, handover determination is determined by comparing the RSSI value to the RSSI threshold value. With the scenario of different numbers of users and cluster sizes, from the handover process involving 8 eNB. It can be calculated how big the handover probability is for each user. From the simulation results, it can be concluded that the more users and the larger the cluster size, the greater the handover probability value. This is linear, with the wider the cluster, the probability of getting an RSSI signal from the original eNB becomes smaller, making it possible to get an RSSI signal from neighboring eNB, so that a handover occurs. © 2024 IEEE.

To achieve climate neutrality by 2050, the consistent transformation of the mobility sector is one of the most important pillars of the European Green deal. As a result of green and sustainable approaches, novel automotive concepts and massive digitalisation in the mobility ecosystem is undergoing a continuous development towards eco-friendly solutions and novel business models, and the changing landscape of automotive industry comes with a significant social impact as well. The overall horizontal collaboration on skills agenda in the Automotive-Mobility Ecosystem is assured throughout the Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA) [1], which is the Large-scale Pact for Skills Partnership. The latest strategic project of the partnership to support its activities is the Digital & Green Skills Towards Future of the Mobility Ecosystem (TRIREME) which promotes a collaboration between industry stakeholders and training providers including Vocational education Trainings (VETs), Higher Educations (HEs) and universities), moreover, also emphasizing the widespread public representation of different project segments and evaluating the social impacts and regional impact of the changes in the Automotive-Mobility Ecosystem. In parallel to the development of sectoral skills strategy, our department (Department of Electronics Technology-ETT) is contributing to deliver specific training materials and courses within Work Package 4 (WP4), which is based on the gathered and processed intelligence from previous desk research, survey activity and participation in professional events. The methodology of course development relies on the concept of modularity, our professional competences in the field of Automotive-mobility, and the fulfillment of requirements to cover the needed skills, the competence and the occupational profile subsets. © 2024 IEEE.

Nowadays, there is massive volume of data transmitted constantly through digital mediums. This data faces the risks of various cyber-attacks like eavesdropping, traffic analysis, packet injection, and packet dropping. There has been several security mechanisms to secure sensitive data and ensure their confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Indeed, Encryption, which is the process of converting the plain-text data into a non-understandable form known as the cipher-text, can secure the sensitive data. However, Encryption techniques are costly in terms of computational resources. Steganography, on the other hand, attempts to exploit the redundancy in data representation and structure to hide secret information within the data. Text steganography refers to the art of hiding secret information inside long passages of text. This paper proposes a new text steganography technique that exploits grammatical structures of Arabic language. Specifically, the paper exploits the redundancy in the language structure of Arabic grammar. The paper also presents the results of applying the proposed technique on a large dataset of articles from different categories such as politics, sports, and religion. The conducted experiments measure the number of secret bits that can be hidden in 1000 words for each category. The results show that some steganography rules can perform differently when annlied to different categories of text. © 2024 IEEE.

Code smells are common in poorly designed software that can hinder code maintainability. Automatic detection of design flaws assists developers in identifying code smells in theirsoftware programs to avoid low-quality delivery. However, the interpretation of code smells is subjective, and existing machine learning-based detection tools are limited in their ability to capture complex semantic relationships in textual code. To address this limitation, the paper proposes a detection system that exploits machine learning and deep learning techniques and compares their effectiveness in identifying the feature envy code smell. The study applies six deep learning techniques based on code semantics features extracted from abstract syntax trees, and eleven machine learning techniques based on code structural features. The results show that both approaches are effective in detecting code smells, with Random Forest achieving exceptional performance among the machine learning classifiers. © 2023 IEEE.

Visible light communication(VLC)has a paramount role in industrial implementations,especially for better energy efficiency,high speed-data rates,and low susceptibility to ***,since studies on VLC for industrial implementations are in scarcity,areas concerning illumination optimisation and communication performances demand further *** such,this paper presents a new modelling of light fixture distribution for a warehouse model to provide acceptable illumination and communication *** proposed model was evaluated based on various semi-angles at half power(SAAHP)and different height levels for several parameters,including received power,signal to noise ratio(SNR),and bit error rate(BER).The results revealed improvement in terms of received power and SNR with 30 Mbps data *** modulations were studied to improve the link quality,whereby better average BER values of 5.55×10^(−15) and 1.06×10^(−10) had been achieved with 4 PAM and 8 PPM,*** simulation outcomes are indeed viable for the practical warehouse model.

In the world of technology, data have been available easily and in huge amounts. Because of the large amounts of data, Educational Data Mining (EDM) is increasingly gaining more importance. Educational data mining is trending as it is the analysis method for analyzing educational data. It involves checking the relationship between the characteristics of students and which features affect their final grades the most. It can also involve predictive modeling by predicting the final grades of students in the future to help educational institutes rescue failing students before they actually fail. Predictive analysis was the main focus in past years where most researchers targeted predicting grades of students. However, not all educational institutes are able to collect the amount of data suitable for machine learning models to achieve good accuracy. That is why the main target of the work presented in this paper is to develop an interactive interface that gives the ability to educational institutes to check by themselves the relation between different factors using correlation mining. The output of the tool is visual with message boxes to make it understandable by users. That is the best way to discover hidden patterns and trends without the need for a large amount of data in addition to removing the cost of deploying machine learning models. The second goal of the work is to give teachers the ability to check the quality of the content of their slides to help them provide a better learning process. © 2023 IEEE.

The hand-eye calibration problem represents a major challenge in robotics, arising from the widespread usage of robotic systems along with robot-mounted sensors. Briefly, consisting of estimating the position and orientation of a visual sensor (usually a camera attached to the robot’s end-effector) with respect to the robot itself, calibration is critical in tracking rigid bodies—a common task within mixed reality applications. Hand-eye calibration implies solving the problem formulated as AX = XB or AX = YB equations. The solution lies in computing the unknown homogeneous transformation matrices X and Y, given the A and B parameterizations of rigid body motions. We present the dual vectors based approaches for AX = XB and AX = YB calibration problems, making use of the isomorphism between the special Euclidean group and the orthogonal dual tensor group. Comparisons with state-of-the-art algorithms are used to assess our obtained results. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Experiment on Multi-hop LoRa for Tracking Application

Background: The Internet of Things (IoT) is an embryonic model that converts real-world things (objects) into smarter devices. IoT is applicable to a variety of application domains, including healthcare, smart grid, and agriculture. Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technology can transmit data over long distances with a low data rate without using the internet. There-fore, this technology is suitable for sending sensor measurement data in Internet of Things (IoT) applications. LPWANs, such as LoRa, use a star topology to reach their coverage to the maximum power that can be transmitted, considering the environmental conditions in the test area and the LoRa parameters used. Whereas for application development in rural areas, there is no internet connection, and often longer coverage is required from the sensor node to the gateway. Objective: This study aims to increase the transmission range from the end node to the gateway by adding an intermediate node. It is used as a relay from the end node to the gateway. Method: Static routing was applied so that any broadcast data from the end node would be for-warded first to the intermediate node and then to the gateway. Results: The LoRa transmission range expanded by changing the topology from peer-to-peer to multi-hop. An intermediate node between the transmitter (end node) and the gateway is available. In the experiment performed, a multi-hop with static routes successfully expanded the distance from 150 meters (single hop) to 250 meters (multi-hop), with a packet delivery ratio of 97%. In this experiment, GPS Ublox Neo was used for the sensor position and was successfully tested on the end node with an accuracy rate of 2.4% for latitude and 0.2% for longitude. Conclusion: The transmission range from the sensor node to the gateway can be extended using static routing by installing an intermediate node between the gateway and the sensor node.
