This Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) uses technology to improve the well-being, autonomy, and security of seniors and disabled individuals. AAL services depend on Human Activity Recognition to detect human behaviors from sensor data. Compared to single-view models, multi-view HAR, which aggregates data from multiple sensors, provides improved accuracy and reliable detection. In this review, we assess recent progress in multi-view HAR for AAL, focusing on the value of lightweight deep learning models. We cover the development of HAR systems, as well as the emergence of multi-view datasets and highly efficient deep learning models that are explicitly designed for AAL scenarios. Furthermore, we address problems such as data synchronization, data protection, and adaptability, as well as possible remedies like sensor fusion and transfer learning. As a result, we also demonstrate the potential of multi-view HAR to increase AAL services and outlining future research trends in providing adaptive, efficient, and privacy-aware systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Supplier selection is a critical component of Supply Chain Management (SCM), as suppliers provide raw materials or services essential for supporting a company's operations. Traditional supplier selection methods often rely on subjective assessments to determine the weighting of criteria, which can lead to biases and suboptimal decision making. To address this issue, this study combines the Logarithmic Percentage Change of Weight (LOPCOW) method with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to enhance objectivity in the supplier selection process. The LOPCOW method is used to assign criterion weights objectively based on logarithmic percentage changes, which helps minimize subjectivity, These weights are then applied using the SAW method to evaluate and rank suppliers. The results of the study show that this combined approach is more reliable for selecting suppliers objectively and accurately. The study suggests integrating other Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods to further strengthen the results while recommending the inclusion of real-time data analytics to improve the model's adaptability to dynamic market conditions. The LOPCOW-SAW approach can be applied across various industries for more effective and efficient SCM supplier selection. © 2024 IEEE.

As the demand for reliable and accurate electricity metering escalates in the digital era, traditional systems increasingly need to improve due to their centralized nature, prone to inaccuracies, privacy breaches, and cybersecurity threats. This paper proposes a novel solution that harnesses the transformative power of Blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to address these critical challenges. By integrating the immutable ledger capabilities of blockchain with the real-time data acquisition prowess of IoT, we introduce a decentralized system that ensures the secure and transparent measurement and billing of electricity for domestic consumers. Adopting Hyperledger Fabric within our framework offers a robust, scalable architecture that supports secure transactions and enhances trust through digital identities for all participants. This system mitigates the vulnerabilities associated with centralized authorities and efficiently monitors and manages energy consumption with unprecedented precision. Through this approach, we aim to revolutionize the electricity metering infrastructure, providing a blueprint for future advancements in the energy sector. © 2024 IEEE.

Sustainability factors of building information modeling (BIM) for a successful construction project management life cycle in Indonesia

Building information modeling (BIM) is an important asset in construction projects from conceptual planning to the preconstruction and operation stages. While many construction projects in developed countries are gradually implementing BIM, the development of this technology in developing countries is still lagging. Some research shows that the application of BIM for certain uses can improve the performance of construction projects, but in Indonesia, its use is still very low. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that can answer the challenges in the sustainability of BIM implementation in construction projects in Indonesia for success in its life cycle. Data were obtained from 44 respondents who answered the questionnaire questions, including owners, supervisory consultants, and contractors representing construction parties in Indonesia. Empirical analysis using multiple linear regression states that there are five factors that, if used to sustainably support the application of BIM, will affect the success of construction project management in its life cycle. The five factors rank as follows based on the results of the analysis: Understanding and Awareness of the importance of BIM;Establishment of BIM standards, codes, rules, and regulations;Competencies and Skills;Commitment and Consistency;and Monitoring and Evaluation. The development of BIM has resulted in new work processes and new ways to interact in construction projects throughout their life cycles. © 2024, The Author(s).

The paper proposes 'AdaptVR' a virtual reality (VR) system designed to enhance dental training through realistic real tile simulations and adaptive learning environment, to overcome traditional training challenges in dental education. The system aims to provide personalized learning experiences, facilitating skill development and comprehensive assessments for students. The proposed system was tested by 17 dentistry students and 5 experts. AdaptVR framework is done for operative dentistry which is removing decay especially Class I and Class II of classification of caries. Results from the experiment revealed that 77.3% of participants exceed their expectations, 59.1% saw a positive effect on their dental skills, 90.9% reported higher levels of engagement, and 65% indicated that vibration and force feedback provided students with a genuine sensation. AdpatVR's experimental findings show an average accuracy of 50.85% for Class I, 51.7% for Class II, and 82.09% for the Class II box technique. The error percentage averages 49% for Class I, 48% for Class II, and 18% for Class II box technique. © 2024 IEEE.

Kindergarten education has a very important role in shaping the foundation of child development. For parents, see reports on the achievement of children's development at school through the results of each semester's assessment. The process of preparing teacher assessments uses 4 types of assessments, one of which is anecdotal record assessment. However, teachers experience problems in analyzing the topics in children's anecdotal notes so that the results become less clear. In addition, it is still done manually so it takes a long time to analyze. Assessment of children's anecdotal notes is an assessment in the form of a record of events that occur to children while at school. Anecdotal notes are in the form of text data, therefore this research aims to find out the topics in children's anecdotal notes data by utilizing topic modeling using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) method. The children's anecdotal notes data is used as one dataset with a total of 276 collected directly from YBPK Sidorejo Kindergarten, after which data preprocessing is carried out in the form of case folding, remove punctuation, tokenizing, stopwords, and stemming. In the LDA topic modeling research using the Gensim library, 5 experiments were carried out by determining the number of different iterations, and displaying a range of 2-10 topics for each experiment. Analysis and evaluation using coherence score to determine the optimal number of topics by looking at the highest coherence score value in the experiment conducted. The analysis results in 3 topics with a coherence score of 0.4704 and 40 iterations or passes. © 2024 IEEE.

This study scrutinizes five years of Sarajevo's Air Quality Index (AQI) data using diverse machine learning models - Fourier autoregressive integrated moving average (Fourier ARIMA), Prophet, and Long short-term memory (LSTM) - to forecast AQI levels. Focusing on various prediction frames, we evaluate model performances and identify optimal strategies for different temporal granularities. Our research unveils subtle insights into each model's efficacy, shedding light on their strengths and limitations in predicting AQI across varied timeframes. This research presents a robust framework for automatic optimization of AQI predictions, emphasizing the influence of temporal granularity on prediction accuracy, automatically selecting the most efficient models and parameters. These insights hold significant implications for data-driven decision-making in urban air quality control, paving the way for proactive and targeted interventions to improve air quality in Sarajevo and similar urban environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Creating programming questions that are both meaningful and educationally relevant is a critical task in computer science education. This paper introduces a fine-tuned GPT4o-mini model (C2Q). It is designed to generate meaningful questions by leveraging semantic feature extraction and well- crafted prompts. The approach addresses the limitations of traditional generative models, offering a deeper understanding of programming code and producing questions that are precise, diverse, and relevant to a given code snippets. The proposed framework incorporates essential code elements, such as control structures and method attributes, to generate questions that align with programming concepts. Evaluation metrics used were BLEU, ROUGE-1, and ROUGE-L to evaluate the model's performance. The findings reveal that the model achieves better structural coherence and conceptual relevance while focusing on contextual understanding over exact term matching. This work highlights the potential of the proposed approach to advance teaching and assessment methods in computer science. © 2024 IEEE.

The exchange of knowledge is widely recognized as a crucial aspect of effective knowledge management. When it comes to sharing knowledge within Prison settings, things get complicated due to various challenges such as limited resources, social stigma, isolation, communication barriers, and security concerns. Additionally, there's a scarcity of resources dedicated to promoting knowledge sharing in secure environments. This study aims to dig deep into the key factors that influence how knowledge is shared in Indonesian prisons. To navigate this intricate terrain, the study uses questionnaires distributed among Prison officers to understand the complex relationship between the identified critical factors and knowledge sharing in Prison. Leadership support, organizational culture, organizational structure, incentives, and individual beliefs emerge as pivotal elements in knowledge sharing. It's also noted that the connection between these critical factors and the intention to share knowledge is significantly influenced by organizational structure. Recognizing and addressing critical factors in knowledge sharing within prisons not only improves rehabilitation within prison walls but also transforms the broader criminal justice system. This approach fosters evidence-based practices, better communication, and a comprehensive understanding of factors leading to successful rehabilitation and reduced recidivism, ultimately creating a more just and effective system. © 2024 International Conferences e-Society 2024 and Mobile Learning 2024.
