Fundamentals of Neutrosophical Simulation for Generating Random Numbers Associated with Uniform Probability Distribution

The simulation process depends on generating a series of random numbers subject to the uniform probability distribution in the interval [0, 1]. The generation of these numbers is starting from the cumulative distribution function of the uniform distribution. Through previous studies in classical logic, we found any random number R0, met with a cumulative distribution function value equal to R0, but these specific numbers may not have sufficient accuracy, which leads to obtaining results that are not sufficiently accurate when doing the simulation. To bypass this case, in this paper, we present a study that enables us to generate as accurate as possible random numbers, using neutrosophic logic ‘ this Logic given by American mathematician Florentin Smarandache in 1995‘. The first step in the study is, define the cumulative distribution function of the neutrosophic uniform distribution, depending on definition of the neutrosophic integral and definition of the neutrosophic uniform distribution. We used the new definition to generate random numbers subject to a neutrosophic uniform distribution on the interval [0, 1]. The result was that each random number R0 corresponds to a interval of the distribution function related to R0, So that it preserves enough precision for the random numbers, and thus we get a more accurate simulation of any system we want to simulate. © 2022. In past research on self-supervised learning for image classification, the use of rotation as an augmentation has been common. However, relying solely on rotation as a self-supervised transformation can limit the ability of the model to learn rich features from the data. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to self-supervised learning for image classification using several localizable augmentations with the combination of the gating method. Our approach uses flip and shuffle channel augmentations in addition to the rotation, allowing the model to learn rich features from the data. Furthermore, the gated mixture network is used to weigh the effects of each self-supervised learning on the loss function, allowing the model to focus on the most relevant transformations for classification.

This tertiary systematic literature review examines 29 systematic literature reviews and surveys in Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) to uncover trends, limitations, and future directions. The study explores current explanation techniques, providing insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers interested in enhancing AI transparency. Notably, the increasing number of systematic literature reviews (SLRs) in XAI publications indicates a growing interest in the field. The review offers an annotated catalogue for human-computer interaction-focused XAI stakeholders, emphasising practitioner guidelines. Automated searches across ACM, IEEE, and Science Direct databases identified SLRs published between 2019 and May 2023, covering diverse application domains and topics. While adhering to methodological guidelines, the SLRs often lack primary study quality assessments. The review highlights ongoing challenges and future opportunities related to XAI evaluation standardisation, its impact on users, and interdisciplinary research on ethics and GDPR aspects. The 29 SLRs, analysing over two thousand papers, include five directly relevant to practitioners. Additionally, references from the SLRs were analysed to compile a list of frequently cited papers, serving as recommended foundational readings for newcomers to the field.

The price prediction task is a well-studied problem due to its impact on the business *** are several research studies that have been conducted to predict the future price of items by capturing the patterns of price change,but there is very limited work to study the price prediction of seasonal goods(e.g.,Christmas gifts).Seasonal items’prices have different patterns than normal items;this can be linked to the offers and discounted prices of seasonal *** lack of research studies motivates the current work to investigate the problem of seasonal items’prices as a time series *** proposed utilizing two different approaches to address this problem,namely,1)machine learning(ML)-based models and 2)deep learning(DL)-based ***,this research tuned a set of well-known predictive models on a real-life *** models are ensemble learning-based models,random forest,Ridge,Lasso,and Linear ***,two new DL architectures based on gated recurrent unit(GRU)and long short-term memory(LSTM)models are ***,the performance of the utilized ensemble learning and classic ML models are compared against the proposed two DL architectures on different accuracy metrics,where the evaluation includes both numerical and visual comparisons of the examined *** obtained results show that the ensemble learning models outperformed the classic machine learning-based models(e.g.,linear regression and random forest)and the DL-based models.

The Internet of Flying Things (IoFT) holds significant promise in fields like disaster management and surveillance. However, it is increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks that can compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of sensitive data. Despite the growing interest in proposing Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) for IoFT networks, current literature faces key limitations, particularly the shortage of publicly available IoFT datasets with diverse attacks, and the fact that existing IDSs lack robustness against sophisticated adversarial machine learning attacks. This paper is the first study to address these limitations by proposing a more resilient and accurate IDS tailored for IoFT networks (RIDS-IoFT). We introduce a novel IDS that leverages Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to generate a hybrid dataset that combines real IoFT traffic data with GAN-generated adversarial attacks, addressing the dataset diversity issue. Additionally, we introduce an innovative adversarial training method to enhance the system’s defense against evolving threats, such as Fast Gradient Sign Method (FGSM), Basic Iterative Method (BIM), and Carlini & Wagner (C&W) attacks. The proposed RIDS-IoFT was evaluated using four machine learning models, Random Forest (RF), Decision Tree (DT), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Logistic Regression (LR), on two datasets: ECU-IoFT and CICIDS2018. The IDS’s performance was assessed based on its ability to detect both traditional and adversarial attacks. The results show that the Random Forest model achieved the highest detection accuracy, up to 96.5%, demonstrating superior performance across both real and hybrid datasets. The proposed RIDS-IoFT not only enhances detection accuracy but also strengthens resilience against adversarial threats, making it suitable for resource-constrained IoFT environments. In this paper, a coplanar waveguide-fed (CPW) printed antenna with circular polarization is suggested for the sub-6 GHz 5th generation spectrum. The proposed antenna is characterized by its single metallic layer being printed on one side of an FR4 substrate dielectric material with epsilon value (r) of 4.4 and tangent loss (tan δ) of 0.02. The total size of the suggested antenna is 30 × 23.2 × 1 mm3. The results show a wide-impedance bandwidth starts at 3.9GHz and going up to more than 8GHz with an S11 value smaller than-10dB (S11 ≤ 10 dB) and the axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) varying from 4GHz to 7.38GHz with an axial ratio(AR) value smaller than-3dB. The gain varies from 2.8dB up to 4.18dB in the entire band. This antenna covers all the sub-6GHz frequency bands of the fifth generation (5 G) applications. The HFSS software is used to design and simulate the suggested antenna and the *** is used to validate the results. © 2022 IEEE.

We present an algorithm for distributed estimation of an unknown vector parameter θ∗ ∈ M in the presence of heavy-tailed observation and communication noises. Heavy-tailed noises frequently appear, e.g., in densely deployed Internet of Things (IoT) or wireless sensor network systems. The presented algorithm falls within the class of consensus+innovation estimators and combats the effect of the heavy-tailed noises by adding general nonlinearities in the consensus and innovations update parts. We present results on almost sure convergence and asymptotic normality of the estimator. In addition, we provide novel analytical studies that reveal interesting tradeoffs between the system noises and the underlying network topology. © 2024 IEEE.

The root Mean Square Deviation (RMSD) is a popular measure of structural similarity between protein structures in the field of bioinformatics. The RMSD calculations involve alignment and optimal superposition between matched pairs of atoms, searching for the lowest RMSD result for both structures. Among the popular methods for calculating the optimal rotation matrix that minimizes the RMSD are the Kabsch algorithm and the Quaternion algorithm. The aim of this research is to present a simple tool for calculation of the RMSD between pairs of aligned three dimensional structures by applying the methods mentioned above. Without GPS data, ETA can be estimated with good precision from historical GPS data and the context of the traffic environment. In this paper, the estimated travel duration between bus stops was computed based on historical GPS data with time stamps. Three approaches were employed to compute the duration between bus stops: (i) statistical central tendencies, (ii) nonlinear regression techniques i.e., decision tree regressor, random forest regressor and k-nearest neighbors regressor, and (iii) an ANN predictive model. These three approaches capture different characteristics of the traffic environment. Statistical central tendencies give the overall view of the ETA information while nonlinear regressors can capture context from the time stamps (e.g., weekdays vs holidays). Finally, predicting the duration required to reach the next bus stop based on previous timespans on the same route implicitly captures temporal dynamics of the traffic environment from previous time steps and the ANN predictive model exploits this temporal information. The feasibility of ETA estimation using these three approaches was explained, evaluated and discussed. © 2023 IEEE.
