Following the successful WCET Tool Challenges in 2006 and 2008, the third event in this series was organized in 2011, again with support from the ARTIST DESIGN Network of Excellence. Following the practice established in the previous Challenges, the WCET Tool Challenge 2011 (WCC'11) defined two kinds of problems to be solved by the Challenge participants with their tools, WCET problems, which ask for bounds on the execution time, and flow-analysis problems, which ask for bounds on the number of times certain parts of the code can be executed. The benchmarks to be used in WCC'11 were debie1, PapaBench, and an industrial-strength application from the automotive domain provided by Daimler. Two default execution platforms were suggested to the participants, the ARM7 as "simple target" and the MPC5553/5554 as a "complex target," but participants were free to use other platforms as well. Ten tools participated in WCC'11: aiT, Astrée, Bound-T, FORTAS, METAMOC, OTAWA, SWEET, TimeWeaver, TuBound and WCA.

The increasing popularity and influence of service-oriented computing give rise to the need of representational and methodological supports for the development and management of business services. From an IT perspective, there is a proliferation of methods and languages for representing Web services. Unfortunately, there has not been much work in modeling high-level services from a business perspective. Modeling business services should arguably capture their inherent features, along with many other representational artifacts. We propose a novel approach for business services representation featuring a three-dimensional representational space of which dimensions stand for the service consumer, service provider and service context. We also discuss how the proposed representation approach provides methodological supports to the area of service orientation. This study presents a novel hybrid intelligent system, which focuses on the optimisation of machine parameters for dental milling purposes. The basis of this approach is hybridizing two bio-inspired algorithms, as Neural Networks with Genetic Algorithms for choosing and modelling the feature subset that best descript the operation conditions. These operating conditions are given as parameters for a dental drill machine. The aim of this approach is twofold: a feature selection process is carried out while the modelling of the operating conditions is achieved. The reliability of the proposed novel hybrid system is validated with a real industrial use case, based on the optimisation of a high-precision machining centre with five axes for dental milling purposes.

We introduce a possibilistic mean value for interval-valued fuzzy numbers as the arithmetic mean of the possibilistic mean values of its upper and lower fuzzy numbers. Furthermore, we suggest a ranking method for interval-valued fuzzy numbers based on their possibilistic mean value and show an application to capital budgeting decisions when the revenues from projects are represented by interval-valued trapezoidal fuzzy numbers.

Social networking has become a part of our life. We redundantly share our personal information with people in social networks and Internet. These networks allow users to share just about everything: data, photos, videos, favorite music, status updates, and more applications. Sharing large amounts of information causes privacy and security problems for users in these networks. To prevent privacy problems, we can provide built-in applications that help to protect our privacy by limiting the friends who get access to our personal information. Many users still do not make use of these applications. Users fail to use the application either because they are not aware that it exists or because of the tedious process that is involved when manually grouping friends into different categories to form a friends list. The privacy problem has prompted us to provide a solution that offers the social networks users an opportunity to protect their privacy. In this study, a privacy and security technique, its algorithm and design were mentioned. Our approach proposes an API, which provides grouping of friends through an automated system into different social groups by analyzing the user's social graph and depending on what common information they would like to share that should not be accessed by other friends. We assume that a user shares the same information in a group, as we call social circles. Finding these social circles will help users to group their friends easily and meaningfully. © 2010 IEEE.

One of the main issues in wireless sensor networks is energy efficiency. Most of the energy is used for wireless transmission. To reduce an amount of data being sent, if a particular compression algorithm is used, than it can significantly reduce a power consumption and increase node's operating lifetime. Presented in this paper is a research, in which the possibility of use of IEEE 802.15.4 wireless sensor networks in electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring applications is analyzed. ECG signal, measured from a patient heart, is in the first step compressed that uses Autoregressive (AR) predictive coding and then again, using Huffman's entropy coding. It has been studied, through the use of simulations, how reduction in data rate of compressed data will affect node's average power consumption. The results obtained from data compression of ECG signal show that sufficient energy saving can be achieved.

In 2009 the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) started to roll out regional bioinformatics conferences in Africa, Latin America and Asia. The open and competitive bid for the first meeting in Asia (ISCBAsia) was awarded to Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet) which has been running the International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB) in the Asia-Pacific region since 2002. InCoB/ISCB-Asia 2011 is held from November 30 to December 2, 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Of 104 manuscripts submitted to BMC Genomics and BMC Bioinformatics conference supplements, 49 (47.1%) were accepted. The strong showing of Asia among submissions (82.7%) and acceptances (81.6%) signals the success of this tenth InCoB anniversary meeting, and bodes well for the future of ISCB-Asia. © 2011 licensee BioMed Central Ltd.

Digital Library is a way to represent, retrieval, and study Thai E-san culture heritages without directly accessing and touching. It may help to reduce a dilapidation of Thai E-san culture heritages. We commence our project with organizing a collection of images through classification technique. Therefore, this work is motivated by two main drivers. Firstly, we aim to apply an alternative dimension of CBIR to classify a collection of Thai E-san heritage images into two classes: the class of heritage images which involve human activities, and the class of heritage images with non-human activities (e.g. images of ancient remains and antiques). Secondly, we also propose a new method of images classification. It is to apply Naive Bayes to produce image classifier based on edge histogram features. This approach is valuable for the automatically classifying heritage images, where it is a time-consuIning and labour-intensive process if it is done by manual classification. After testing, the experimental results show an effective accuracy. This would demonstrate that our approach is sufficiently reliable for use.

Abstract This paper suggests a new stability analysis theorem dedicated to a class of fuzzy logic control systems. The fuzzy logic control systems consist of nonlinear Single Input-Single Output (SISO) discrete-time processes controlled by Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy logic controllers. The stability analysis is conducted on the basis of Lyapunov's direct method with quadratic Lyapunov function candidates. The theorem proves that if the derivative of the Lyapunov function candidate is negative definite in the active region of each fuzzy rule then the fuzzy logic control system will be asymptotically stable in the sense of Lyapunov. Sufficient stability conditions are offered. An example related to the design of a stable fuzzy logic control system for the discrete-time Lorenz chaotic system and simulation results are included.

The 2011 International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB) conference, which is the annual scientific conference of the Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet), is hosted by Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is co-organized with the first ISCB-Asia conference of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB). InCoB and the sequencing of the human genome are both celebrating their tenth anniversaries and InCoB's goalposts for the next decade, implementing standards in bioinformatics and globally distributed computational networks, will be discussed and adopted at this conference.
