Using software components has become a widely used development technique for building large enterprise systems. However in practice, component applications are still primarily built using simple component models and advanced component models offering valuable features like component nesting, multiple communication styles, behavior validation, etc. are omitted (by industry in particular). Based on our experience, such an omitting is mainly caused due to usually unbalanced semantics of these advanced features. In this paper, we present a "next-generation" component model SOFA 2.0, which in particular aims at a proper support of such advanced features.

Development and maintenance of information systems often face integration and re-factoring challenges; therefore diminishing similar difficulties is stressed within this paper. Research was based on literature review of several integrability parameters, describing an information system, where the goal was finding optimal specifications that need to be met to build an integration friendly information system. As a result, a model of parameter groups, which should be included in development, was composed and we named it integrability index. Also a comparison between the index and the Capability Maturity Model was preformed and parallels between them were searched for. Both models are significant to information system improvement and indirectly to business processes they support.

The paper presents a review of previously published work and reports on the findings regard managerial control mechanisms of virtual teams working in an environment of virtual community. Within the preparing phase of the research we focused on open source virtual communities that work on larger projects for information system development. We also formed research questions that will guide us in the future research. This paper concludes with specific research needs in the study of virtual teams and their knowledge and use of project management principles.

In this work, a new type of collaborative learning activity is proposed in order to enable students to explore and understand information in highly mobile situations. We call this "mobile sensemaking" and is based on people engaged in multiple parallel, rapid and ad-hoc interactions, rather than structured decision processes. This activity takes place in a traditional classroom context, thus proposing a new way to design more participative and active "lectures". Mobile sensemaking proposes a proximity model and uses mobile computing devices in order to carry on collaborative activities according to the domain context and physical proximity.

Models of behavior mining from logs in adaptive systems are one from many methods how to obtain useful information for personalized navigation. Target of this paper is to describe modified results of full scan algorithm used to creation recommended links to concepts. For creation recommended links is used technique of traversal patterns. Established weights up to concepts and links along with the results of full scan algorithm created relevant recommended links within the scope of all subject matter and within the scope of topic in actual concept. The fundamental part is facilitating orientation for user in hyperspace.

Managing a team of heterogeneous robots in a dynamic environment poses a challenging job. In this paper a model for a multi-purpose, real-time, adaptable, strategical coordination layer is presented. Based on previous work developed for the RoboCup Soccer simulation, small-size, middle-size and legged leagues, a generic coordination model was built. As both centralized and distributed environment are handled by the layer, communication was an important factor to consider only introducing a minor overhead. A multi-level hierarchical approach was followed with hybrid methods used to switch between concepts. The model was tested with two strategy instances, RoboCup Rescue Simulation and RoboCup Soccer. Strategies are designed with the help of a graphical tool. Results achieved by the team in RoboCup Rescue and Soccer Simulation competitions demonstrate the usefulness of this approach. The main goal of this research is to create a web based Geographic Information Systems(GIS) application,which would help to people living in flood plains,who may at one point be vulnerable due to their proximity to the river and the amplitude of the *** main result of our research is a web based GIS system that provides appropriate information to the relevant authority and general public in a timely manner and easy to understand. Relevant authorities in this case may include flood managers,flood warning practitioners,professional partners and emergency *** easy to use interface we developed also allow non-GIS experts to be in a position to interactively view and explore,as well as query the data base,to select different data variables and to view maps at several levels of detail.

For some time now, researchers have been seeking to place software measurement on a more firmly grounded footing by establishing a theoretical basis for software comparison. Although there has been some work on trying to employ information theoretic concepts for the quantification of code documents, particularly on employing entropy and entropy-like measurements, we propose that employing the Similarity Metric of Li, Vit´anyi, and coworkers for the comparison of software documents will lead to the establishment of a theoretically justifiable means of comparing and evaluating software artifacts. In this paper, we review previous work on software measurement with a particular emphasis on information theoretic aspects, we examine the body of work on Kolmogorov complexity (upon which the Similarity Metric is based), and we report on some experiments that lend credence to our proposals. Finally, we discuss the potential advantages derived from the application of this theory to areas in the of software engineering. Copyright © (2007) by Knowledge Systems Institute (KSI).

This paper explores the resistance of MOS Current Mode Logic (MCML) against Differential Power Analysis (DPA) attacks. Circuits implemented in MCML, in fact, have unique characteristics both in terms of power consumption and the dependency of the power profile from the input signal pattern. Therefore, MCML is suitable to protect cryptographic hardware from DPA and similar side-channel attacks. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of different logic styles against power analysis attacks, the non-linear bijective function of the Kasumi algorithm (known as substitution box S7) was implemented with CMOS and MCML technology, and a set of attacks was performed using power traces derived from SPICE-level simulations. Although all keys were discovered for CMOS, only very few attacks to MCML were successful. ©2007 IEEE.

Linear feedback shift registers (LFSR) and other pseudo-random pattern generators (PRPG) have become one of the central elements used in testing and self testing of contemporary complex electronic systems like processors, controllers, and high-performance integrated circuits. The current paper describes a training and research tool for learning basic and advanced issues related to PRPG-based test pattern generation. Unlike other similar systems, this tool facilitates study of various test optimization problems, allows fault coverage analysis for different circuits and with different LFSR parameters. The main didactic aim of the tool is presenting complicated concepts in a comprehensive graphical and analytical way. The multi-platform JAVA runtime environment allows for easy access and usage of the tool both in a classroom and at home. The BIST analyzer represents an integrated simulation, training, and research environment that supports both analytic and synthetic way of learning. Due to the above mentioned facts the tool provides a unique training platform to use in courses on electronic testing and design for testability. The BIST Analyzer has got a positive feedback from students of Darmstadt TU (Germany) and Tallinn TU (Estonia).
