Deep learning has achieved significant success in single hyperspectral image super-resolution (SHSR);however, the high spectral dimensionality leads to a heavy computational burden, thus making it difficult to deploy in real-time scenarios. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel lightweight SHSR network, i.e., LKCA-Net, that incorporates channel attention to calibrate multi-scale channel features of hyperspectral images. Furthermore, we demonstrate, for the first time, that the low-rank property of the learnable upsampling layer is a key bottleneck in lightweight SHSR methods. To address this, we employ the low-rank approximation strategy to optimize the parameter redundancy of the learnable upsampling layer. Additionally, we introduce a knowledge distillation-based feature alignment technique to ensure the low-rank approximated network retains the same feature representation capacity as the original. We conducted extensive experiments on the Chikusei, Houston 2018, and Pavia Center datasets compared to some SOTAs. The results demonstrate that our method is competitive in performance while achieving speedups of several dozen to even hundreds of times compared to other well-performing SHSR methods. One of the main challenges facing hyperspectral image super-resolution is the complex high-dimensional data processing. Mamba leverages its ability to model long-range dependencies of linear complexity to capture the global spatial and spectral information of high-dimensional data while maintaining linear complexity. However, its visual state space equation mainly focuses on the band dimension mapping of the image, while ignoring the modeling of the spatial dimension. To overcome this limitation, we develop a Mamba hyperspectral image super-resolution framework, which comprises three essential components. The first component, i.e., the spatial Mamba subnetwork, models the spatial dimensions of hyperspectral data. It captures long-range dependencies in the pixel space, thereby integrating global spatial information into the framework. The second component, i.e., the spectral Mamba subnetwork, serves to capture long-range spectral dependencies. The third component, i.e., reconstruction, generates hyperspectral images with rich spatial and spectral details through pixel interpolation. Our Mamba framework fully develops the potential of the Mamba model in hyperspectral image super-resolution, significantly enhancing the restoration quality and accuracy of hyperspectral images. Extensive experiments on the Houston and QUST-1 datasets show that our framework outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both quantitative metrics and visual quality across diverse scenarios. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

This paper introduces an advanced movie recommendation system that combines neural collaborative filtering (NCF) with sentiment analysis to improve personalization, accuracy, and robustness in recommending movies. By integrating user preferences with the sentiment polarity of reviews, the system refines recommendations, effectively addressing challenges such as the cold start problem, data sparsity, and limited semantic understanding. Unlike traditional collaborative and content-based filtering methods, which often struggle with diversity and accuracy, our approach utilizes deep learning within NCF to reveal hidden patterns in user behavior, enhancing recommendations’ relevance and precision. The proposed system is evaluated using standard performance metrics, including RMSE, MSE, and MAE, demonstrating its superior performance over conventional filtering techniques. Its enhanced scalability and adaptability position it as a promising tool for personalized content delivery in digital entertainment, with considerable potential for large-scale, dynamic recommendation environments. This research contributes to the existing knowledge on recommendation systems and offers new insights into improving content personalization and user satisfaction. Medical image segmentation is crucial for precise diagnosis, treatment planning, and disease monitoring in clinical settings. While convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have achieved remarkable success, they struggle with modeling long-range dependencies. Vision Transformers (ViTs) address this limitation by leveraging self-attention mechanisms to capture global contextual information. However, ViTs often fall short in local feature description, which is crucial for precise segmentation. To address this issue, we reformulate self-attention in the frequency domain to enhance both local and global feature representation. Our approach, the Enhanced Wave Vision Transformer (EW-ViT), incorporates wavelet decomposition within the self-attention block to adaptively refine feature representation in low and high-frequency components. We also introduce the Prompt-Guided High-Frequency Refiner (PGHFR) module to handle image degradation, which mainly affects high-frequency components. This module uses implicit prompts to encode degradation-specific information and adjust high-frequency representations accordingly. Additionally, we apply a contrastive learning strategy to maintain feature consistency and ensure robustness against noise, leading to state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance in medical image segmentation, especially under various conditions of degradation. This survey provides detailed perspectives on Malaysian solar energy system adoption in relation to the economic outcome and environmental and policy context. This work has been done by using comprehensive keyword lists and inclusion criteria to confirm that the findings of this survey capture as many relevant publications as possible from the research period from 2010 to 2024. Unlike numerous papers that investigate such systems with mere commercial or industrial perspective, this survey aims at assessing residential installation, and providing accurate cost benefit analysis while showing the business belief of such schemes. It also examines various opinions, especially the Malaysian government policies and strategic incentives and staking its success on public awareness and acceptance. We equally allocate a considerable portion of this survey to discussing the environmental effects and the life cycle analyses comparing solar energy with other energy types. Notably, the survey is also under sustainable development goal 7 with the goal of achieving universal access to affordable reliable, sustainable and modern energy. Such a focus also makes the identified topics relevant for Malaysia, which is useful for references in subsequent projects and activities. These would include use of web-survey, the coverage on the residential sector, the ability to incorporate policy analysis and emphasis on sustainability to the study on solar energy usage in residential Malaysia. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Software reliability has become an increasingly important characteristic as software systems continue to be integrated into all parts of our lives. While the occurrence of failure after a period of time is within the nature of all software systems, the ability to estimate and predict failure is greatly beneficial to software development and maintenance. Hence, Software Reliability Growth Models (SRGMs) were developed to fulfill this requirement. Conventional parameter estimation methods of SRGM functions were complex and left more to be desired. Consequently, metaheuristics such as Swarm Intelligence algorithms were introduced to estimate and optimize the parameters of SRGM functions. Likewise, Swarm Intelligence algorithms were found to be exceptionally effective in estimating and optimizing the parameters of SRGM functions. This paper presents a novel approach to parameter estimation on three different SRGM functions through Harris’ Hawks Optimization (HHO). The proposed HHO design is compared against numerous different variants of Swarm Intelligence algorithms and is shown to be significantly more efficient than the majority of the compared designs. Moreover, as the proposed design is a base variant of Swarm Intelligence algorithms, various avenues of future improvements have also been presented to improve its overall prediction accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This study explores Blockchain technology in the global financial industry using trends analysis, bibliometric analysis, and a literature appraisal using Elsevier Scopus data from 2016 to 2023. The Blockchain in Finance (BCF) study produced 185 publications: 53.5% papers, 45.4% conference proceedings, and 1.1% reviews. Analysis of the subject area revealed three important Computer science, Engineering, and Decision sciences articles. However, source title analysis showed that ACM International Conference Proceeding Series, Sustainability Switzerland, and E3S Web of Conferences publish BCF research most often. According to the stakeholders study, Jon M. Truby and Qatar University (Qatar) are the top BCFin researchers and affiliations with 4% and % publications, respectively. China produces the most research on the topic. Due to active support from funding sources like the Chinese National Natural science Foundation (NNSF), 18 publications have been funded. Co-occurrence of keywords The investigation indicated that BCFin’s top keywords include Blockchain, Finance, and Supply Chain Finance. Three clusters with 4–8 keywords, 132 linkages, and 866 TLS were found via cluster analysis. Keywords classify the clusters as Integrated Business Solutions (Cluster 1), Digital Commerce Infrastructure (Cluster 2), and Decentralized Financial Network (Cluster 3). The findings indicate that BCFin is a dynamic and influential multidisciplinary study field. BCFin has transformed the global financial sector by improving trust, transaction security, and communication. Energy efficiency of cache eviction algorithms for Zipf distributed objects

Executive Summary This paper presents a summary analysis of the Least Frequently Used (LFU) and Perfect Least Frequently Used (PLFU) cache eviction algorithms on real data, transferred on Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), as well as on Zipf’s distributed samples. In light of the growing emphasis on energy efficiency in CDNs in recent years due to rising energy costs, this paper considers and discusses the total CPU time required to run a cache algorithm. The total CPU time represents a novel metric for evaluating cache performance, and it is contrasted with the conventional Cache Hit Ratio (CHR) metric. Furthermore, a new algorithm with an admission policy and the eviction strategy that of PLFU is presented. The results demonstrate that it is a simple and straightforward algorithm to implement and offers high CHR and low CPU time. © 2025, CC BY.

Physics-Inspired Generative Models in Medical Imaging

Physics-inspired generative models (GMs), in particular diffusion models and Poisson flow models, enhance Bayesian methods and promise great utility in medical imaging. This review examines the transformative role of such generative methods. First, a variety of physics-inspired GMs, including denoising diffusion probabilistic models, score-based diffusion models, and Poisson flow generative models (including PFGM++), are revisited, with an emphasis on their accuracy, robustness and acceleration. Then, major applications of physics-inspired GMs in medical imaging are presented, comprising image reconstruction, image generation, and image analysis. Finally, future research directions are brainstormed, including unification of physics-inspired GMs, integration with vision-language models, and potential novel applications of GMs. Since the development of generative methods has been rapid, it is hoped that this review will give peers and learners a timely snapshot of this new family of physics-driven GMs and help capitalize their enormous potential for medical imaging.
