The smart meter is among the most important device used in the smart grid. This paper deals with brief descriptions of several aspects of smart meters. It also shortly depicts the roadmap of smart meters in India, their working, and the need for it in the power system. The paper also discusses the communication hub which is an important part of the working of smart meters. This paper also presents the government of India's several projects for the development of smart meters in India. The smart meter has a bright future, especially in a country like India. It also describes manufacturers, models, and types of smart meters. The deployment of smart meters results in the detection of power theft which is the major reason for transmission and distribution loss, especially in India. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper proposes a physiological signal-based stress detection approach for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to be used in social and assistive robot intervention. Electrodermal activity (EDA) and blood volume pulse (BVP) signals are collected with an E4 smart wristband from children with ASD in different countries. The peak count and signal amplitude features are derived from EDA signal and used in order to detect the stress of children based on the previously provided reference baselines. Furthermore, a comparison has been made with the stress values determined using low frequency (LF) and high frequency (HF) values extracted from BVP signal.

This research introduces the distributed ledger technology (blockchain) in terms of sustainable development in the future. This study is based on private, public and global communications in various industries. The growing demands for secure and decentralized transactions around the world demonstrate the need for Blockchain technology as a medium of operations and communications. The blockchain system is completely decentralized and allows users to exchange messages in an efficient and secure manner. The highlight of the paper is the anticipated future use of blockchain networks as a communication tool in every business and digital economy for a safe and sustainable development, while presenting its advantages and limitations that have been confirmed based on the experiences of various experts. Moreover, the article provides recommendations for the use of blockchain to greatly complicate its identification in future communications. software systems have been employed in many fields as a means to reduce human efforts;consequently,stakeholders are interested in more updates of their *** smells arise as one of the obstacles in the software *** are characteristics of software source code that indicate a deeper problem in *** smells appear not only in the design but also in software *** smells introduce bugs,affect software maintainability,and lead to higher maintenance *** code smells can be formulated as an optimization problem of finding the best detection *** researchers have recommended different techniques to improve the accuracy of code smell detection,these methods are still unstable and need to be *** research has sought only to discover a few at a time(three or five types)and did not set rules for detecting their *** research improves code smell detection by applying a search-based technique;we use the Whale Optimization Algorithm as a classifier to find ideal detection *** this algorithm,the Fisher criterion is utilized as a fitness function to maximize the between-class distance over the withinclass *** proposed framework adopts if-then detection rules during the software development life *** rules identify the types for both medium and large *** are conducted on five open-source software projects to discover nine smell types that mostly appear in *** proposed detection framework has an average of 94.24%precision and 93.4%*** accurate values are better than other search-based algorithms of the same *** proposed framework improves code smell detection,which increases software quality while minimizing maintenance effort,time,and ***,the resulting classification rules are analyzed to find the software metrics that differentiate the nine code smells.

software development companies commonly use Global software Development (GSD) in their industry. A competent Scrum team supports the success of the GSD project. This research aims to identify the game components in the form of types, elements, and technologies that contribute to building experience for the Scrum team in a GSD environment. We used a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the Kitchenham and snowball method. From the 12 papers, we concluded that none of the games specifically focused on the competence of the Scrum team at GSD. The SLR results also identify ten game elements and technologies as a reference for game development to meet the challenges in GSD. The conclusion is that there are still great opportunities to develop a game that can improve the competence of the GSD Scrum team. Game development should refer to elements and identified technologies.

One of the most challenging area of diabetes research is to provide such automated insulin delivery systems - so called artificial pancreas systems - that have robust and adaptive capabilities in a highly sophysticated way. I.e. they are able to provide robust insulin delivery actions at the beginning of the therapy to satisfy the requirements of the patients without knowing the users daily lifestyle and preferences however adaptive on the short-term to learn these patient specifics to increase the quality of the therapy. One possible solution is the closed-loop systems that have self-learning features. In the present study, we have examined a glucose regulatory problem using direct reinforcement learning based controller. The approach represents the fully automatic insulin administration as the timepoint and the carbohydrate content of the meals were unknown and randomized. We constructed a virtual environment of the patient with type 1 diabetes by applying a mathematical model. Proximal policy optimization learning model with continuous action space was used. Furthermore, we evaluated the effect of different training lengths on the test scenario. © 2022 IEEE.

The research is aimed at the development of virtual environments of various configurations created by means of 3D computer modeling in such areas as photogrammetry, computer vision systems, robotics at the design stages of devices and systems. In addition, virtual simulators simulating real operating conditions, it is proposed to use for testing and modeling methods of shooting mobile video systems. It is assumed that the means of 3D-graphics emulates not only the environment, shooting conditions, but also the video systems themselves: means of technical vision, onboard cameras of robots and UAVs. The use of such simulators will allow to create, improve and test various algorithms of applied intelligent systems without creating complex expensive stands, will save time for various experiments. The article deals with the evaluation of the quality of recognition and reconstruction systems using a polygonal grid as a data representation. The results of testing these methods: the use of virtual environments and the assessment of the similarity of the polygon meshes. At the stage of segmentation and finding the vertices and segments of the objects under study demonstrated the use of both real images obtained by a real camera and synthesized images. During the reconstruction phase, a set of synthesized images was also used to test one of the reconstruction systems. To assess the similarity of polygonal objects based on the Hausdorff dimension, the corresponding functions were developed and the result of their work is given. © 2020 IEEE.

Customer reviews on online platforms have grown to become an important source of insight into a company's performance. Food delivery services (FDS) companies aim to effectively use customers' feedback to identify areas for improvement of customer satisfaction. Although Arabic is becoming one of the most widely used languages on the Internet, only a few studies have focused on Arabic sentiment analysis to date. The present study conducts an extensive emotion mining and sentiment analysis on FDS-related reviews in Arabic, exploiting natural language processing, and machine learning techniques to extract information that reflects customers' subjective viewpoints, recognize their feelings, and determine polarity in the FDS domain. This work begins with collecting the FDS dataset (Talabat), and then extracting and creating a dialects lexicon for Arabic dialects, followed by walking the reader through detailed steps of cleaning and pre-processing a manually annotated dataset. Finally, we examined classification algorithms including Decision Tree (DT), and Support Vector Machine (SVM). We achieved a maximum accuracy of about 82% using the SVM classifier.

The computation of short paths in graphs with arc lengths is a pillar of graph algorithmics and network science. In a more diverse world, however, not every short path is equally valuable. For the setting where each vertex is assigned to a group (color), we provide a framework to model multiple natural fairness aspects. We seek to find short paths in which the number of occurrences of each color is within some given lower and upper bounds. Among other results, we prove the introduced problems to be computationally intractable (NP-hard and parameterized hard with respect to the number of colors) even in very restricted settings (such as each color should appear with exactly the same frequency), while also presenting an encouraging algorithmic result ("fixed-parameter tractability") related to the length of the sought solution path for the general problem. Affine correspondences have traditionally been used to improve feature matching over wide baselines. While recent work has successfully used affine correspondences to solve various relative camera pose estimation problems, less attention has been given to their use in absolute pose estimation. We introduce the first general solution to the problem of estimating the pose of a calibrated camera given a single observation of an oriented point and an affine correspondence. The advantage of our approach (P1AC) is that it requires only a single correspondence, in comparison to the traditional point-based approach (P3P), significantly reducing the combinatorics in robust estimation. P1AC provides a general solution that removes restrictive assumptions made in prior work and is applicable to large-scale image-based localization. We propose a minimal solution to the P1AC problem and evaluate our novel solver on synthetic data, showing its numerical stability and performance under various types of noise. On standard image-based localization benchmarks we show that P1AC achieves more accurate results than the widely used P3P algorithm.
