The focus group on drama patterns we organized at EuroPLoP 2023 attracted 16 participants (apart from the organizers), who together built a short drama play (created by Aleksandra Vranic) based on the motifs from the stories of Alice in Wonderland. We discussed how particular drama patterns metaphorically correspond to some software patterns and elaborated on two examples of such correspondence: the Thoughts Reflecting Environment drama pattern and its correspondence to the Observer design pattern and the Loosely Coupled Situations drama pattern and its correspondence to the Visitor design pattern. Both drama patterns were first played by the participants and then related to the corresponding design pattern. We also played Observer in a technical, nonmetaphoric way. We also made a performance at the banquet, which was accepted with delight. We achieved this with no rehearsals and with the actor for the main role appointed just before the performance, which confirmed once more how powerful patterns are. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). The amount of antisocial online behavior (AOB) in the political field has been on the rise in recent years. In the research, we are dealing with the reason for confusing AOB with other forms of antisocial behavior. We specifically dealt with NLP in the political field in the Slovak language, with a specific number of prefixes and suffixes. In this paper, we focus on the area of detection of manipulation of political discussions. The data source consisted of previously collected data in the period from April 2018 with an update until November 19, 2022 realized within this research from the site ***, which we supplemented with new claims. We trained several classification models on preprocessed data and evaluated them. For multi-class classification, the best results were achieved using logistic regression and a support vector machine trained on the resampled dataset-both achieving an accuracy of 0.56 and a macro F1 score of 0.39. In the case of binary classification, the best results were achieved by logistic regression-accuracy 0.7 and macro F1 score 0.56. These models could help detect manipulation in online political discussions. © 2023 IEEE.

Digital transformation allows organizations to maintain sustainable development and address ongoing challenges. The current digital transformation and advanced technology mega-trend significantly impact society and organizations, making digital technology crucial for public and private organizations, universities, and daily life. Despite the rising demand, there is often a lack of standard policies governing the use of digital technology. Practical experience and literature reveal key challenges in transitioning from traditional to digital systems, including limited public awareness, mindset, ICT skills, government support, and collaboration between organizations and software engineering societies. Governments must establish digital transformation policies and offer software development guidelines for public organizations to digitalize their systems. Additionally, they should provide or support research projects funded by governmental and nongovernmental organizations to identify infrastructure and regulatory issues within Afghanistan’s digital transformation context. This study documents six organizational patterns observed during the transformation of traditional systems into digital systems, illustrating their sequence and explaining the development of a pattern language from these patterns. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). The paper proposes 'AdaptVR' a virtual reality (VR) system designed to enhance dental training through realistic real tile simulations and adaptive learning environment, to overcome traditional training challenges in dental education. The system aims to provide personalized learning experiences, facilitating skill development and comprehensive assessments for students. The proposed system was tested by 17 dentistry students and 5 experts. AdaptVR framework is done for operative dentistry which is removing decay especially Class I and Class II of classification of caries. Results from the experiment revealed that 77.3% of participants exceed their expectations, 59.1% saw a positive effect on their dental skills, 90.9% reported higher levels of engagement, and 65% indicated that vibration and force feedback provided students with a genuine sensation. AdpatVR's experimental findings show an average accuracy of 50.85% for Class I, 51.7% for Class II, and 82.09% for the Class II box technique. The error percentage averages 49% for Class I, 48% for Class II, and 18% for Class II box technique. © 2024 IEEE.

Single page applications (SPAs) are web applications that offer a fast and responsive user experience, but also pose some challenges in terms of navigation process management and platform compatibility. In this paper, we propose a DSL-based approach for code generation and management of SPA navigation process, based on the visual vocabulary proposed by Garrett. We use a Domain-Specific Language (DSL) to describe the elements of the SPA, such as pages, connectors, and transitions, in a concise and abstract way. We also propose a metamodel for Garrett vocabulary, which defines the concepts and relationships of the DSL. Then, we apply a Model-Driven engineering (MDE) technique to transform the DSL specification into a platform-specific project architecture and basic code for an SPA. We present a case study of using our DSL to generate an Angular SPA and evaluate the benefits of our approach in terms of productivity, maintainability, and reusability. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. A network with critical data streams, where the timing of incoming and outgoing data is a necessity, is called a deterministic network. These networks are mostly used in association with real-time systems that use periodic hard-real-time data which need to be scheduled. The algorithm proposed in this paper is focused on achieving the lowest possible latency within the specified network topology depending on the physical parameters of the network and the periodic requirements of the communicating nodes. The algorithm allows to add priorities to the data flow between nodes and also the option to specify if preemption is allowed within the network, since not all devices support it. The result is a schedule of hard-real-time data communication within a specified network topology where all requirements of communicating nodes are met if such a solution is possible. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

This paper proposes a hybrid partition clustering, which is the combination of three techniques: partitional clustering, proportional allocation, and center-of-gravity. The objective of this hybrid clustering is to identify the applicable position of established cloud servers to support the testing of a high-speed internet platform. These cloud servers will be installed in the Eastern region of Thailand. Moreover, hybrid clustering is developed using RStudio and R packages. The latitude-longitude position and the number of populations from each district that has internet service providers are considered as main factors to do the cluster. Regarding the experiment, we found that K-Means provide a better solution than K-Medoid with a silhouette width value equal to 0.45. In addition, the results of this hybrid clustering will also be compared with the existing solution. The difference in sample users between these two methods is approximately 25 percent. © 2023 IEEE.

This article aims to incorporate search engine optimization validation into the development process of JavaScript-based web applications, thus connecting two sides of optimizations, namely the selection of appropriate practices and their correct implementation. We summarize strategies for achieving search engine optimization (SEO) compliance in single-page applications (SPAs) and propose two distinct testing solutions aimed at addressing SEO concerns in modern web apps. Both approaches are incorporated into CI/CD pipelines, making it possible to enforce existing SEO strategies. The issue of visibility in search engines is especially characteristic for JavaScript-based frameworks. This is because of the way they load and render their content, are mostly unable to achieve satisfactory SEO scores and rankings. Due to the ever-increasing popularity of these frameworks, it is essential to identify and compare available optimization techniques to address this subject adequately. Here, we take a closer look at the SEO-friendly features of *** and *** frameworks and evaluate their capabilities using two mock e-commerce websites as examples. To fulfill our second objective, an approach to continuous SEO testing is presented. We discuss the results of similar CI/CD pipeline setups using distinct technologies and tools, in particular Jenkins and GitHub actions. The results show that by integrating specific tests focused on SEO into CI/CD pipelines, developers can identify crucial shortcomings of their product and eliminate them before they cause harm in the production environment. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

A machine learning approach for skin lesion classification on iOS: implementing and optimizing a convolutional transfer learning model with Create ML

The integration of machine learning (ML) into mobile applications presents unique challenges, particularly in resource-constrained environments such as iOS devices. Skin lesion classification is a critical task in dermatology, where accurate and efficient diagnostic tools can significantly aid in early detection of malignant lesions. This study aims to implement a machine learning-based iOS mobile application and develop a binary classification model for skin lesion images to determine whether a lesion is malignant. The research utilized Create ML to develop a convolutional neural network optimized for iOS, employing a transfer learning approach. A logistic regression model was cascaded with the convolutional neural network N to enhance classification accuracy. The model's performance was assessed through various validation metrics, ensuring its robustness and efficiency within the constraints of mobile hardware. A curated dataset from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration archive was used for training and testing. The model achieved an accuracy of 92%, a precision of 90%, a recall of 93%, and an F1-score of 91% in classifying skin lesions. These metrics validate the model's efficacy in identifying malignant lesions. Data curation involved collecting, labeling, and preparing a dataset from publicly available sources, ensuring the inclusion of diagnostically relevant features. The final model was integrated into an iOS application using Core ML and Vision frameworks. The developed application demonstrates reliable performance in classifying skin lesions with high accuracy on iOS devices. The inclusion of comprehensive performance metrics justifies the efficacy of the proposed approach. Future work will explore enhancements in model architecture and object detection capabilities to further improve diagnostic precision and application usability. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

In this paper, we present an optimization-based approach for star constellation recognition. The main components of the proposed procedure are the processing of digital images and the minimization of the error in point cloud matching by parameter optimization. In the optimization phase, the Nelder- Mead algorithm, the simulated annealing algorithm, and an evolutionary algorithm were used. Also, the behavior of these methods is evaluated and compared in the paper based on their average error values for different test images. Results on our test dataset showed that the Nelder-Mead simplex algorithm was performing the best in solving the recognition task. © 2023 IEEE.
