Due to the significant ongoing expansion of computer networks in our lives nowadays, the demand for network security and protection from cyber-attacks has never been more imperative to either clients or businesses alike, which signifies the key role of cyber intrusion detection systems in network security. This article proposes a cyber-intrusion detecting system classification with MLP trained by a hybrid metaheuristic algorithm and feature selection based on multi-objective wrapper method. The classifier, named as HADMLP is trained using a hybridization of the artificial bee colony along with the dragonfly algorithm. A multi-objective artificial bee colony model which is wrapper-based is used for selection of feature. Hence, collective name of the proposed technique referred as MO-HADMLP. For performance evaluation, the proposed method was assessed using ISCX 2012 and KDD CUP 99 datasets. The results of our experiments indicate a significant enhancement to the efficacy of network intrusion detection when compared to other approaches. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Low-altitude mobility, exemplified by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), has introduced transformative advancements across various domains, like transportation, logistics, and agriculture. Leveraging flexible perspectives and rapid maneuverability, UAVs extend traditional systems’ perception and action capabilities, garnering widespread attention from academia and industry. However, current UAV operations primarily depend on human control, with only limited autonomy in simple scenarios, and lack the intelligence and adaptability needed for more complex environments and tasks. The emergence of large language models (LLMs) demonstrates remarkable problem-solving and generalization capabilities, offering a promising pathway for advancing UAV intelligence. This paper explores the integration of LLMs and UAVs, beginning with an overview of UAV systems’ fundamental components and functionalities, followed by an overview of the state-of-the-art LLM technology. Subsequently, it systematically highlights the multimodal data resources available for UAVs, which provide critical support for training and evaluation. Furthermore, key tasks and application scenarios where UAVs and LLMs converge are categorized and analyzed. Finally, a reference roadmap towards agentic UAVs is proposed to enable UAVs to achieve agentic intelligence through autonomous perception, memory, reasoning, and tool utilization. Nowadays, manual and automated tests, among other things, are used to achieve the best quality of a software product. There are several types of automated tests that try to meet the needs of today’s technology, but in addition to the advantages of these techniques, there are also disadvantages that are analysed in detail in this article. The aim of this article is to develop and present the possibilities of exploiting the potential of protocol orientation in a less common programming paradigm in user interface tests that do not suffer from the previously mentioned disadvantages. The manuscript meets the theory of user interface testing with protocol orientation, creating a test project that takes advantage of Swift’s unique language capabilities by transferring best practices from traditional testing procedures, resulting in easy-to-read, easy-tomaintain test codes.

Home Health Care (HHC) is an essential and critical part of palliative care and especially for terminal cancer patients. This research is aimed as a first attempt to align with the research gap in modelling the social requirements of palliative care processes and the HHC process in particular. Consequently, this research is a first attempt at developing an \mathbf{i}{\ast} framework visual goal-oriented and social requirements models of the HHC process of the domain of palliative care with a reflected application using a case study from a leading regional cancer centre in the Middle East, namely KHCC. Furthermore, this research has made it possible for palliative care domain experts in the HHC process and using the associated \mathbf{i}{\ast} framework strategic dependency and strategic rationale models to visually trace the most critical and strategic actors in the HHC process along with the highly interacting dependers and dependees. Finally, the HHC \mathbf{i}{\ast} strategic models contribute to bridging the gap between the world of palliative care requirements and their reflective computer-based information systems and \mathbf{IoT} smart devices. Hence, this sheds light towards the realisation of the field of palliative care as being a 'systems of systems' virtual organisation with the respective socio-technical systems involvement, for the best care of the palliative patient and especially terminal cancer patients. A further corollary of this research is the insufficiency and less representativeness of palliative care process models to utilise in guiding the development of the HHC \mathbf{i}{\ast} framework strategic models without linking to the full associated strategic and policy documents of palliative care. © 2022 IEEE.

These are the proceedings of the first teacher training of the Erasmus+ project No. 2020-1-PT01-KA203-078646 -- Sustrainable. The full title of this project is Promoting Sustainability as a Fundamental Driver in software Development Training and Education and the interested reader may know more about it at: https://*** The flagship contribution is the organization of two summer schools on sustainable software production. The first summer school is moved due to the Corona pandemic. It is now scheduled for July 2022 in Rijeka, Croatia. This summer school will consist of lectures and practical work for master and PhD students in the area of computing science and closely related fields. There will be contributions from Plovdiv University, University of Ko\v{s}ice, University of Coimbra, University of Minho, E\"otv\"os Lor\'and University, University of Rijeka, Radboud University Nijmegen, University of Pula, University of Amsterdam and Babe\c{s}-Bolyai University. To prepare and streamline this summer school, the consortium organized a teacher training in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. This was an event of five full days on November 1-5, 2022 organized by Ingrid Berenbroek, Mart Lubbers and Pieter Koopman on the campus of the Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Sustainability is one of the themes within the strategy of the Radboud University called `A Significant Impact', see https://***/sustainability/organisation/radboud-sustainable/. Conversational agents or chatbots are becoming an increasingly common mean of communication between humans and computers, tackling all aspects of human activity, including the field of education. In this paper a part of ongoing research is presented, with the aim to reveal what kind of interactions with the chatbot in the educational setting would take place. The ultimate goal is to identify informative models and design artifacts that would enable creation of the chatbot which will provide meaningful information to the students of the faculty. The research is performed by following user-centered design approach and engaging the final users in the product lifecycle. For that purpose, students have participated in an online survey and provided examples of the questions they would ask the chatbot about the exams, midterms, office hours, and location of rooms. Participants’ answers were analysed with thematic analysis that revealed nineteen themes of the chatbot user interactions of which nine categories (design artifacts) of the chatbot user interface were novel in educational context. In addition to identifying students’ needs, survey revealed preferences of the students regarding the form and tone of communication with the prospective chatbot. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Green software and its products are crucial in solving the problems associated with the long-term use of software, especially from a sustainability point of view. A few studies have proposed green software but are still limited and lack balance measurements to attain green products. At the same time, without a mechanism for measuring the green ability of a particular software product executed in a specific environment, the mentioned benefits will not be guaranteed. Although sustainability and green can be accomplished when all dimensions are in balance, there is still a lack of balance measurements to achieve green products as needed by the industries and societies. The contributions of this study revolve around the works on green software measurements to attain a green software product from a sustainability's perspective. It provides a green measure structure consisting of the element, measurements, sub measurement, and metric. The study presented in this paper was conducted through theoretical review and contributed to the initial green software measurements investigation. © 2021 IEEE.

The advent of Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has revolutionized manufacturing and production systems, enhancing efficiency and communication through the integration of advanced technologies such as IoT devices and AI. However, this increased digitization has also led to heightened cybersecurity risks, with a notable rise in the frequency and complexity of cyber-attacks. Cyber Ranges emerges as a critical solution in addressing these challenges, offering a controlled environment for simulating cyber-attack scenarios, training cybersecurity teams, and developing robust defense strategies. The escalating demand for cybersecurity professionals has highlighted the crucial need for effective training solutions. This article presents an open-source Cyber Range constructed on container-based architecture, meticulously engineered for efficient operation with minimal resource consumption. In response to the scarcity of cybersecurity experts, this platform prioritizes extensive scalability and robust isolation between exercises, ensuring secure learning environments, and also integrates a complex developed exercise series aimed at strengthening cybersecurity learning experiences. These exercises encompass a variety of scenarios and challenges, catering to professionals at different skill levels. Each exercise replicates real-world cyber threats, offering practical, hands-on learning opportunities. Additionally, a comprehensive questionnaire accompanies these exercises, designed to gather feedback on participants' experiences.

The inspection of products and assessment of quality is connected with high costs and time effort in many industrial domains. This also applies to the forestry industry. Utilizing state-of-the-art deep learning models allows automizing the analysis of wooden piles in a vision-based manner. In this work, a parallel two-step approach is presented for the segmentation and multi-facet classification of individual logs, according to the wood type and quality. The present approach is based on a preliminary log localization step and like this allows determining the quality, volume and also the value of individual logs, respectively the whole wooden pile. Using a YOLOv4 model for wood species classification for douglas firs, pines and larches results in an accuracy of 74.53%, while a quality classification model for spruce logs reaches 86.58%. In addition to that, the trained U-NET segmentation model reaches an accuracy of 93%. In the future, the underlying data set and models will be further improved and integrated to a mobile application for the on site analysis of wooden piles by foresters. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
