The recent unprecedented threat from COVID-19 and past epidemics,such as SARS,AIDS,and Ebola,has affected millions of people in multiple *** have shut their borders,and their nationals have been advised to *** variety of responses to the pandemic has given rise to data privacy *** prevention and control strategies as well as disease control measures,especially real-time contact tracing for COVID-19,require the identification of people exposed to *** tracing frameworks use mobile apps and geolocations to trace ***,while the motive may be well intended,the limitations and security issues associated with using such a technology are a serious cause of *** are growing concerns regarding the privacy of an individual’s location and personal identifiable information(PII)being shared with governments and/or health *** study presents a real-time,trust-based contact-tracing framework that operateswithout the use of an individual’sPII,location sensing,or gathering GPS *** focus of the proposed contact tracing framework is to ensure real-time privacy using the Bluetooth range of individuals to determine others within the *** research validates the trust-based framework using Bluetooth as practical and *** our proposed methodology,personal information,health logs,and location data will be secure and not *** research analyzes 100,000 tracing dataset records from 150 mobile devices to identify infected users and active users.

Nowadays, Innovative techniques, including artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML), have been employed in attack detection systems across numerous domains to create effective detection mechanisms that identify attacks more quickly and accurately. In this study, we propose a novel machine learning-based method that utilizes Random Forest (RF)-based feature fusion (RFBFF) to detect anomalies in computer networks. This method integrates two basic procedures: feature fusion and classification. In feature fusion, unlike traditional feature selection, all features are utilized in the creation of the new data set. This allows for the incorporation of the impact of each feature on the outcome. The feature fusion procedure generates a reduced dataset by combining similar features based on RF-derived gain scores, while the classification procedure uses this refined dataset to label the attack status in the network using various ML algorithms. Specifically, Decision Tree (DT), K-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN), Additive Logistic Regression (Logitboost), and Naïve Bayes (NB) have been employed as classification algorithms. The effectiveness of the proposed method in network attack detection has been validated by comparing it with ML methods based on RF-based feature selection (RFBFS). For a robust comparison and see the performance of the model in the real world, the NSL-KDD and UNSW_NB15 data sets, which contain data packet examples of normal or attack traffic that can be encountered in the internet environment, categorized with binary classification, were preferred as the benchmark data set. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach excels in detecting network attacks, achieving an accuracy rate of 0.995 on the NSL-KDD dataset and 0.924 on the UNSW-NB15 dataset. Leveraging the gain scores of all features, even if they are relatively low, has been found to positively impact the model's overall performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Hybrid active shape model and deep neural network approach for lung cancer detection

Lung cancer is consistently ranked as the primary cause of cancer-related fatalities worldwide. The timely identification and effective treatment of lung cancer play a pivotal role in patient survival rates. Generally, higher rates of lung cancer mortality have been observed in men compared to women, largely attributable to smoking levels. This article proposes a new hybrid approach to lung cancer detection using the Computed Tomography (CT) scan images. Our objective is two folds: first, the development of a robust and accurate segmentation approach based on the Active Shape Model (ASM), and second, the implementation of a fully automatic lung cancer detection system employing the Deep Neural Networks (DNN). Given the diverse nature of cancer growth within the lung, it can appear in any location, showing a wide range of shapes, sizes, and contrasts. The proposed approach thus lays the foundation for precise segmentation, enabling a comprehensive understanding of the structural nuances. The experimental evaluation shows that the proposed approach achieves good precision and accuracy and can help practitioners as an enhanced tool for fast and reliable cancer detection. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

Human Pose Estimation is a computer vision technique utilized in various fields such as healthcare, security, and sports to detect the pose of single or multi-person utilizing various machine learning and deep learning methodologies. These methodologies can be applied in a variety of ways, including top-down and bottom-up approaches. Furthermore, this technique can be used with images or videos, as well as in 2D or 3D domains. This paper delves into recent advancements in deep learning methods used for estimating the pose, covering commonly employed datasets, evaluation metrics, and the challenges encountered in this field. It aims to assist new researchers in getting familiar with this technique based on work published between 2019 and 2023, with a spotlight on 2D and omitting 3D. © 2024 IEEE.

An increasing number of clinicians (i.e., nurses and physicians) suffer from mental health-related issues like depression and burnout. These, in turn, stress communication, collaboration, and decision-making—areas in which Conversational Agents (CAs) have shown to be useful. Thus, in this work, we followed a mixed-method approach and systematically analysed the literature on factors affecting the well-being of clinicians and CAs’ potential to improve said well-being by relieving support in communication, collaboration, and decision-making in hospitals. In this respect, we are guided by Brigham et al. (2018)’s model of factors influencing well-being. Based on an initial number of 840 articles, we further analysed 52 papers in more detail and identified the influences of CAs’ fields of application on external and individual factors affecting clinicians’ well-being. As our second method, we will conduct interviews with clinicians and experts on CAs to verify and extend these influencing factors. A novel modular deep fully convolutional network for efficient low resolution facial expression recognition

Facial expression is one of the most important and natural way to express human feelings. Although deep convolutional neural networks have improved the performance of facial expression recognition (FER) systems, recognizing facial expressions from low resolution images is still a challenging task for real-time applications. A new modular deep fully convolutional neural network is designed to tackle this problem. The proposed network is composed of four modules namely, feature extraction (FE), residual spatial-channel attention (RSCA), atrous spatial pyramid pooling (ASPP), and classification module. The prominent facial regions relevant to facial expressions are extracted using FE module and then strengthened using RSCA and ASPP modules. Finally, a classification module using convolutional layers with adjusted stride parameter values is employed instead of fully connected layers to significantly reduce the number of learnable parameters. Experimental results using CK+, RAF-DB, and SFEW 2.0 datasets show that our proposed method achieves improved accuracies of 99.9%, 84.96%, and 53.0% at image resolutions of 32 × 32 , 48 × 48 , and 26 × 26 , respectively. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.
