Smart city promotes the unification of conventional urban infrastructure and information technology (IT) to improve the quality of living andsustainable urban services in the city. To accomplish this, smart cities necessitate collaboration among the public as well as private sectors to install ITplatforms to collect and examine massive quantities of data. At the same time,it is essential to design effective artificial intelligence (AI) based tools to handlehealthcare crisis situations in smart cities. To offer proficient services to peopleduring healthcare crisis time, the authorities need to look closer towardsthem. Sentiment analysis (SA) in social networking can provide valuableinformation regarding public opinion towards government actions. With thismotivation, this paper presents a new AI based SA tool for healthcare crisismanagement (AISA-HCM) in smart cities. The AISA-HCM technique aimsto determine the emotions of the people during the healthcare crisis time, suchas COVID-19. The proposed AISA-HCM technique involves distinct operations such as pre-processing, feature extraction, and classification. Besides,brain storm optimization (BSO) with deep belief network (DBN), called BSODBN model is employed for feature extraction. Moreover, beetle antennasearch with extreme learning machine (BAS-ELM) method was utilized forclassifying the sentiments as to various classes. The use of BSO and BASalgorithms helps to effectively modify the parameters involved in the DBNand ELM models respectively. The performance validation of the AISA-HCMtechnique takes place using Twitter data and the outcomes are examinedwith respect to various measures. The experimental outcomes highlighted theenhanced performance of the AISA-HCM technique over the recent state ofart SA approaches with the maximum precision of 0.89, recall of 0.88, Fmeasure of 0.89, and accuracy of 0.94.

Online customer reviews have developed into a significant source of information about a business's performance. Due to shifting consumer expectations and growing internet penetration, the Middle East, especially Jordan, is seeing an increase in the usage of online banking. This propensity toward digital transition has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mobile banking service companies aim to effectively use customers' feedback to identify areas for improvement in customer satisfaction. Although Arabic is becoming one of the most widely used languages on the Internet, only a few studies have focused on Arabic sentiment analysis to date. The present study conducts an extensive emotion mining and sentiment analysis on mobile banking reviews in Arabic, exploiting machine learning, natural language processing, and resampling methods to obtain subjective feedback, determine polarity, and identify customers' feelings in the banking domain. This work walks the reader through detailed steps of cleaning and preprocessing a manually annotated dataset of online banking reviews in Arabic, followed by features extraction and modeling, dataset splitting, and balancing training data. Finally, we examined classification algorithms including Decision Tree (DT), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression (LR), Naïve Bayes (NB), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Random Forest (RF). Ensemble hard and soft voting ML methods were also evaluated. We achieved a maximum accuracy of about 94% using the LR classifier and a maximum precision of 94% using the LR and hard voting methods. Our methodology will enable banks to acquire insights on how to develop their online presence and meet the demands of customers and stakeholders. © 2023 IEEE.

Osteosarcoma is one of the rare bone cancers that affect the individualsaged between 10 and 30 and it incurs high death rate. Early diagnosisof osteosarcoma is essential to improve the survivability rate and treatmentprotocols. Traditional physical examination procedure is not only a timeconsumingprocess, but it also primarily relies upon the expert’s *** this background, the recently developed Deep Learning (DL) models canbe applied to perform decision making. At the same time, hyperparameteroptimization of DL models also plays an important role in influencing overallclassification performance. The current study introduces a novel SymbioticOrganisms Search with Deep Learning-driven Osteosarcoma Detection andClassification (SOSDL-ODC) model. The presented SOSDL-ODC techniqueprimarily focuses on recognition and classification of osteosarcoma usinghistopathological images. In order to achieve this, the presented SOSDL-ODCtechnique initially applies image pre-processing approach to enhance the qualityof image. Also, MobileNetv2 model is applied to generate a suitable groupof feature vectors whereas hyperparameter tuning of MobileNetv2 modelis performed using SOS algorithm. At last, Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU)technique is applied as a classification model to determine proper class *** order to validate the enhanced osteosarcoma classification performance ofthe proposed SOSDL-ODC technique, a comprehensive comparative analysiswas conducted. The obtained outcomes confirmed the betterment of SOSDLODCapproach than the existing approaches as the former achieved a maximumaccuracy of 97.73%.

This article aims to compare forecasting techniques with machine learning techniques for predicting the number of people injured in road accidents using data from the Injury information Collaboration Center, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health Outpatient Files (OPD) spanning the years 2018 to 2022. The four machine-learning techniques examined in this study include Decision Tree Regression, Random Forest Regression, Support Vector Regression, and Multiple Linear Regression. The data analysis was performed using the R programming language. The results revealed that the Decision Tree Regression technique yielded the most accurate predictions for the number of road traffic injuries, as evidenced by its lowest values of MAE, MSE, and RMSE. © 2024 IEEE.

The recognition of the Arabic characters is a crucial task incomputer vision and Natural Language Processing fields. Some major complicationsin recognizing handwritten texts include distortion and patternvariabilities. So, the feature extraction process is a significant task in NLPmodels. If the features are automatically selected, it might result in theunavailability of adequate data for accurately forecasting the character ***, many features usually create difficulties due to high dimensionality *** this background, the current study develops a Sailfish Optimizer withDeep Transfer Learning-Enabled Arabic Handwriting Character Recognition(SFODTL-AHCR) model. The projected SFODTL-AHCR model primarilyfocuses on identifying the handwritten Arabic characters in the inputimage. The proposed SFODTL-AHCR model pre-processes the input imageby following the Histogram Equalization approach to attain this *** Inception with ResNet-v2 model examines the pre-processed image toproduce the feature vectors. The Deep Wavelet Neural Network (DWNN)model is utilized to recognize the handwritten Arabic characters. At last,the SFO algorithm is utilized for fine-tuning the parameters involved in theDWNNmodel to attain better performance. The performance of the proposedSFODTL-AHCR model was validated using a series of images. Extensivecomparative analyses were conducted. The proposed method achieved a maximum accuracy of 99.73%. The outcomes inferred the supremacy of theproposed SFODTL-AHCR model over other approaches.

Starting from the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the presence of students in the university laboratories was very limited, the research work on remote laboratories significantly increased. The most affected aspect of students' study experience at that time were the laboratory experiments intended to be conducted on-premises, in the university laboratories. The UbiLAB framework was envisioned as a digital space for implementing and conducting laboratory work and experiments that are rarely completely transferred into the digital world. Here we have identified two most difficult challenges: achieving a nearly realistic substitute for learning experiences in the actual physical laboratories, and a nearly realistic substitute for the social element of collaborative learning and 'making friends' in the process. The innovative cloud-based UbiLAB framework addresses both challenges, digitizing various and diverse actual laboratory experiments through a simple and widely available platform, while enhancing the reality of students' experience in the process. © 2023 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence(AI)is finding increasing application in healthcare *** learning systems are utilized for monitoring patient health through the use of IoT sensor,which keep track of the physiological state by way of various health ***,early detection of any disease or derangement can aid doctors in saving patients’***,there are some challenges associated with predicting health status using the common algorithms,such as time requirements,chances of errors,and improper *** propose an Artificial Krill Herd based on the Random Forest(AKHRF)technique for monitoring patients’health and eliciting an optimal prescription based on their health *** begin with,various patient datasets were collected and trained into the system using IoT *** a result,the framework developed includes four processes:preprocessing,feature extraction,classification,and result ***,preprocessing removes errors,noise,and missing values from the dataset,whereas feature extraction extracts the relevant ***,in the classification layer,we updated the fitness function of the krill herd to classify the patient’s health status and also generate a *** found that the results fromthe proposed framework are comparable to the results from other state-of-the-art techniques in terms of sensitivity,specificity,Area under the Curve(AUC),accuracy,precision,recall,and F-measure.

This study examines the academic field of Artificial Intelligence in Education (AI-ED) by examining the publications and indexed documents in Scopus from 2010 to 2023. Consequently, we examined the publishing trends, exemplary articles, and the most engaged participants and funding institutions in the domain of AI-ED research. A bibliometric analysis was performed to examine the network of co-authorships, keywords, and citations in the domain of AIED research. The Scopus search resulted in the discovery of 10,474 published documents on AI-ED. Additionally, trends analysis indicated a significant increase of over 3,000% in publications between 2010 and 2023. Conference papers are the most often utilized document type, including 6757 publications or 64.5% of the overall amount. The ACM International Conference Proceeding Series is the primary source for published materials, accounting for 675 publications or 6.44% of the total publications on the topic. The most prolific researchers in the field of AI-ED are Breazeal, C and Chai C.S, each having published 18 documents. Additionally, the two institutions that have produced the highest number of published documents are Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and the University of NC State University (NCSU). The output of the affiliations active in the topic is primarily attributed to the funders, specifically the National science Foundation, which is the leading funding institution based in the United States and has contributed to 354 publications. An analysis of keyword co-occurrence revealed 6 main study areas that cover the essential tools, theories, methodologies, and socioeconomic and financial aspects of artificial intelligence in education (AIED). Future research in the field of artificial intelligence in education will focus on employing sophisticated deep learning, machine learning, and neural network algorithms to precisely predict students' learning patterns. © 2024 IEEE.

The agriculture industry is one of the most significant sources of foreign exchange and employment in the Sri Lankan market. Therefore, small crops play a crucial role in ensuring the food security of the population as they are integral components of Sri Lankan cuisine. However, industry experts have identified inefficient disease and pest management as a hindrance to production. This issue requires immediate attention and proper action, which can be effectively addressed through the utilization of ICT technologies. Consequently, this research paper proposes a smart system that aims to assist farmers and agriculture professionals by providing them with farmer education, disease and infestation management tools, as well as progression level calculations. The implementation of this system aims to uplift the agriculture industry in Sri Lanka. The developed 'AI-based mobile application system for Brinjal Diseases,' which is based on analyzing the eating patterns of leafhopper damage, presents an innovative approach to identify the most significant threats to Brinjal, specifically focusing on leafhopper damage. This proposed system effectively informs various stakeholders, including the Area Agricultural Research Officer, Seed Certification and Plant Protection Center (SCPPC), Agricultural Service Center, Office of the Register of Pesticides (ROP), Plant Protection Service (PPS), as well as farmers, regarding the dispersion and prevention of brinjal diseases and pest infections. © 2023 IEEE.
