computer-Aided Pronunciation Training (CAPT) systems are gaining popularity recently due to the advancements in deep neural networks (DNN) and machine learning and the availability of databases of speech of language learners. Unfortunately, research in Arabic CAPT systems suffer from the lack of CAPT datasets compared to other languages. In this paper, we present the details of and the ideas used in the development of a versatile dataset of speech, real and synthesized, of Arabic Learners. To develop the dataset, we utilized an existing Arabic speech corpus, King Saud University Speech Database (KSU-SD). KSU-SD's main application was a speaker recognition system, but it was designed to be useful in other applications such as CAPT systems. KSU-SD includes a large number of speakers from diverse nationalities (Saudis, Arabs, and Non-Arabs). KSU-SD contains the recording of about 60 non-native speakers from more than 20 nationalities, hence we selected it to build the non-native Arabic-CAPT corpus. The developed corpus consists of transcribed, segmented, and annotated speech, which makes it suitable for building Arabic CAPT systems. In addition to presenting the details of developing the dataset, we also present an analysis of the text and speech errors of the dataset. The dataset was verified by many CAPT systems. © 2023 IEEE.

With the increased complexity in mobile applications, many challenges and issues emerged for the software project management team to develop mobile application effectively and accurately. Effort estimation is one of the most critical issues the Software management project team faces in general, and the mobile application development team in specific. Effort estimation helps to approximate the cost required for successful software application development. The mobile application is distinct in various aspects from the traditional software and web-based applications. There is a need for a specific methodology to be followed for accurate estimation of size and efforts. This research aims to review the effectiveness of COSMIC and Machine Learning techniques in performing mobile effort estimation and propose a hybrid approach for efficient mobile effort estimation. This research work's mains represent the methodology followed to achieve the input parameters and mobile applications' efforts using a tailor-made approach. Acoustoelectric impedance tomography (AET) is a new non-invasive medical imaging procedure used to map the electrical properties of biological tissues with higher spatial resolution than traditional electrical impedance tomography (EIT). It exploits the acoustoelectric effect where modulated ultrasonic pressure changes the local tissue conductivity. This provides additional information to reconstruct a tomographic image, and has a stabilizing effect on an otherwise highly unstable inverse *** this paper, a novel approach to solving the AET inverse problem for image reconstruction is proposed. In the algorithm, the acoustoelectric effect is assumed to create small perturbations in the local resistance of the medium under observation. A lumped model consisting of a finite mesh of resistors approximates the medium under observation, through which boundary voltage differences between the excited and unexcited medium are calculated. A variation of the Modified Newton Raphson (MNR) algorithm is then proposed, where each pattern in the algorithm is created from small perturbations of the tissue conductivity. A total of eight simulation scenarios are evaluated, where the conductivity perturbations are in the order of 1%, 2.5% to 5% of the nominal tissue conductivity. The algorithm can successfully reconstruct the images in the presence of random noise. The obtained images are compared against traditional EIT where the percentage error is calculated for each simulated tomographic image. The simulation results indicate that the proposed approach is superior to traditional EIT as it constructs more distinct and high contrasting images with less percentage error. © 2022 IEEE.

This study investigates the comparative effectiveness of manual PID tuning versus Fuzzy-PID control in enhancing the performance of a robot arm with two degrees of freedom (2-DOF). The experimental approach involves conducting two scenarios: manual tuning of PID parameters in Scenario 1 and utilizing a fuzzy algorithm for PID parameter tuning in Scenario 2. The novelty of this research lies in the new 3D mechanical design of the 2-DOF robot arm and the utilization of the ESP8266 microcontroller for implementing Fuzzy-PID control. Performance evaluation is conducted using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Root Mean Square Percentage Error (RMSPE) calculations. The results reveal that Fuzzy-PID control significantly reduces errors compared to manual PID tuning, with lower RMSE and RMSPE values indicating more precise and stable control. These findings underscore the potential of integrating fuzzy logic with PID control to enhance system adaptability and flexibility. Additionally, the ESP8266 is capable of handling the computations required for fuzzy-PID control while being cost-effective. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid increase in cloud services and the increasing shift toward them, balancing the cloud load has become a critical research issue. The increasing demand from customers for technology services worldwide is largely due to its direct impact on performance quality. Therefore, to provide better service quality, it is essential to consider reducing response time and cost in load balancing. This paper addresses the load-balancing problem by optimizing response time and computing cost in cloud computing systems. Specifically, we first formulated the load balancing problem in cloud computing mathematically by designing an objective function that optimizes response time and cost, including constraints to ensure task assignment to a single virtual machine (VM) and resource limits are not exceeded. To solve this optimization problem, we proposed a hybrid algorithm, ACOCSA, that combines Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Crow Search Algorithm (CSA). We implemented the ACOCSA algorithm, evaluated the response time, cost, and load balancing metrics, and found that our algorithm performed better in terms of response time and computational cost, and showed good fairness among VMs. © 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. Concept drift is a common phenomenon appearing in evolving data streams of a wide range of applications including credit card fraud protection, weather forecast, network monitoring, etc. For online data streams it is difficult to determine a proper size of the sliding window for detection of concept drift, making the existing dataset-distance based algorithms not effective in application. In this paper, we propose a novel framework of Density-based Concept Drift Detection (DCDD) for detecting concept drifts in data streams using density-based clustering on a variable-size sliding window through dynamically adjusting the size of the sliding window. Our DCDD uses XGBoost (eXtreme Gradient Boosting) to predict the amount of data in the same concept and adjusts the size of the sliding window dynamically based on the collected information about concept drifting. To detect concept drift between two datasets, DCDD calculates the distance between the datasets using a new detection formula that considers the attribute of time as the weight for old data and calculates the distance between the data in the current sliding window and all data in the current concept rather than between two adjacent windows as used in the exiting work DCDA [2]. This yields an observable improvement on the detection accuracy and a significant improvement on the detection efficiency. Experimental results have shown that our framework detects the concept drift more accurately and efficiently than the existing work. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In developed and developing countries, breast cancer is one of the leading forms of cancer affecting women alike. As a consequence of growing lifeexpectancy, increasing urbanization and embracing Western lifestyles, the highprevalence of this cancer is noted in the developed world. This paper aims todevelop a novel model that diagnoses Breast Cancer by using heterogeneous datasets. The model can work as a strong decision support system to help doctors tomake the right decision in diagnosing breast cancer patients. The proposed modelis based on three datasets to develop three sub-models. Each sub-model worksindependently. The final diagnosis decision is taken by the three sub-models independently. The power of the model comes from the diversity checks of patientsand this reduces the risk of wrong diagnosing. The model has been developedby conducting intensive experiments. Several classification algorithms were usedto select the best one in each sub-model. As the final results, the sub-modelaccuracies were 72%, 74% and 97%.

A substitution box(S-Box)is a crucial component of contemporary cryptosystems that provide data protection in block *** the moment,chaotic maps are being created and extensively used to generate these SBoxes as a chaotic map assists in providing disorder and resistance to combat cryptanalytical *** this paper,the construction of a dynamic S-Box using a cipher key is proposed using a novel chaotic map and an innovative tweaking *** projected chaotic map and the proposed tweak approach are presented for the first time and the use of parameters in their workingmakes both of these dynamic in *** tweak approach employs cubic polynomials while permuting the values of an initial S-Box to enhance its cryptographic *** of the parameters are provided using the cipher key and a small variation in values of these parameters results in a completely different unique *** analysis and exploration confirmed that the projected chaoticmap exhibits a significant amount of chaotic *** security assessment in terms of bijectivity,nonlinearity,bits independence,strict avalanche,linear approximation probability,and differential probability criteria are utilized to critically investigate the effectiveness of the proposed S-Box against several *** proposed S-Box’s cryptographic performance is comparable to those of recently projected S-Boxes for its adaption in real-world security *** comparative scrutiny pacifies the genuine potential of the proposed S-Box in terms of its applicability for data security.

White blood cells (WBC) or leukocytes are a vital component ofthe blood which forms the immune system, which is accountable to fightforeign elements. The WBC images can be exposed to different data analysisapproaches which categorize different kinds of WBC. Conventionally, laboratorytests are carried out to determine the kind of WBC which is erroneousand time consuming. Recently, deep learning (DL) models can be employedfor automated investigation of WBC images in short duration. Therefore,this paper introduces an Aquila Optimizer with Transfer Learning basedAutomated White Blood Cells Classification (AOTL-WBCC) technique. Thepresented AOTL-WBCC model executes data normalization and data augmentationprocess (rotation and zooming) at the initial stage. In addition,the residual network (ResNet) approach was used for feature extraction inwhich the initial hyperparameter values of the ResNet model are tuned by theuse of AO algorithm. Finally, Bayesian neural network (BNN) classificationtechnique has been implied for the identification of WBC images into distinctclasses. The experimental validation of the AOTL-WBCC methodology isperformed with the help of Kaggle dataset. The experimental results foundthat the AOTL-WBCC model has outperformed other techniques which arebased on image processing and manual feature engineering approaches underdifferent dimensions.
