Machine learning(ML)is increasingly applied for medical image processing with appropriate learning *** applications include analyzing images of various organs,such as the brain,lung,eye,etc.,to identify specific flaws/diseases for *** primary concern of ML applications is the precise selection of flexible image features for pattern detection and region *** of the extracted image features are irrelevant and lead to an increase in computation ***,this article uses an analytical learning paradigm to design a Congruent Feature Selection Method to select the most relevant image *** process trains the learning paradigm using similarity and correlation-based features over different textural intensities and pixel *** similarity between the pixels over the various distribution patterns with high indexes is recommended for disease ***,the correlation based on intensity and distribution is analyzed to improve the feature selection ***,the more congruent pixels are sorted in the descending order of the selection,which identifies better regions than the ***,the learning paradigm is trained using intensity and region-based similarity to maximize the chances of ***,the probability of feature selection,regardless of the textures and medical image patterns,is *** process enhances the performance of ML applications for different medical image *** proposed method improves the accuracy,precision,and training rate by 13.19%,10.69%,and 11.06%,respectively,compared to other models for the selected *** mean error and selection time is also reduced by 12.56%and 13.56%,respectively,compared to the same models and dataset.

Supervisory Control of Discrete Event systems Modeled With Labeled Petri Nets for Diagnosability Enforcement

This paper proposes an active fault diagnosis method to enforce the diagnosability of discrete event systems using labeled Petri nets by constructing a diagnostic supervisor. For a non-diagnosable net model, its diagnosability is viewed as a control specification and addressed by using supervisory control techniques. First, an event-based monitor and a Petri net structure, referred to as data isolation arcs, are introduced to apply control specifications for labeled Petri nets. Then, a diagnostic supervisor reachability graph is generated to estimate the current state of the diagnoser. By analyzing the diagnostic supervisor reachability graph, an integer linear programming model is formulated to design a diagnostic supervisor, which can prevent the system from entering into any indeterminate cycle only by observing the occurrence of events. Finally, by the obtained diagnostic supervisor, the resulting net model is shown to be diagnosable. Some examples are presented to demonstrate the proposed method. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

The neuron doctrine defines the neuron as the basic unit of the nervous system, which drives the dynamic behavior of our organs. This has led to neurons becoming the focus of modern neuroscience research and to the rise of neurocomputing, in which we try to digitally simulate human behavior. The goal being to better understand the human nervous system and gain more control over neuron-related diseases, helping doctors establish faster and more reliable medical diagnoses. In this context, we aim to simulate eye diseases and vision problems by convolving input images using a new class of neural networks based on a variable structure model of neurons presented in [1]. In this work, we focus on recreating the common convolution filters as a first step. This is the first time in neurocomputing literature that dendritic neurons have been used for dynamic convolution kernels generation and eye diseases simulation. We start with a presentation of our upgrades to the model’s flexibility and accuracy. Then, we propose a novel kernel generator algorithm to convolve the input images. Finally, we show its promising results in creating the outline, pixelization, and night convolution kernels, as well as control some metrics, including brightness and data retention. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a system of interconnected sensors that can gather environmental information. On the other hand, data redundancy is a common source of problems with WSNs. The literature presents a plethora of approaches. Despite these mechanisms’ best efforts, most current systems still need help with difficulties like noise, redundancy, or application specificity. Thus, we proposed an algorithm to overcome all the problems with redundant and highly correlated data. The longest common subsequence (LCSS)-enabled sliding window algorithm can resolve issues in constrained networks related to energy conservation and congestion control. The proposed method exhibits remarkable performance on multiple benchmark datasets. According to the result analysis, the suggested technique can outperform its equivalents for a range of data sets by about 32%. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

With the rapid development of intelligent transportation systems and growing emphasis on driver safety, real-time detection of driver drowsiness has become a critical area of research. This study presents a robust and scalable driver drowsiness detection framework that integrates a Swin Transformer-based deep learning model with a diffusion model for image denoising. While conventional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are effective in standard vision tasks, they often suffer performance degradation in real-world driving scenarios due to noise, poor lighting, motion blur, and adversarial attacks. To address these challenges, the proposed model focuses on eye-state detection, specifically, prolonged eye closure, as a primary indicator of driver disengagement and fatigue. Our system introduces a novel preprocessing stage using a denoising diffusion model built on a U-Net encoder-decoder architecture, effectively mitigating the impact of Gaussian noise and adversarial perturbations. Additionally, we incorporate adversarial training with Fast Gradient Sign Method (FGSM) and Projected Gradient Descent (PGD) attacks, demonstrating significant improvements in classification accuracy and resilience. Evaluations are conducted on two benchmark datasets, Eye-Blink and Closed Eyes in the Wild (CEW), under both clean and noisy conditions. Comparative experiments show that the proposed system outperforms several state-of-the-art models, including ViT, ResNet50V2, InceptionV3, MobileNet, DenseNet169, and VGG19, in terms of accuracy (up to 99.82%), PSNR (up to 41.61 dB), and SSIM (up to 0.984), while maintaining competitive inference times suitable for practical deployment. Moreover, a detailed sensitivity analysis of data augmentation strategies reveals that techniques such as rotation and horizontal flip substantially enhance the model’s generalization across variable visual inputs. Segmenting a breast ultrasound image is still challenging due to the presence of speckle noise,dependency on the operator,and the variation of image *** paper presents the UltraSegNet architecture that addresses these challenges through three key technical innovations:This work adds three things:(1)a changed ResNet-50 backbone with sequential 3×3 convolutions to keep fine anatomical details that are needed for finding lesion boundaries;(2)a computationally efficient regional attention mechanism that works on high-resolution features without using a transformer’s extra memory;and(3)an adaptive feature fusion strategy that changes local and global featuresbasedonhowthe image isbeing *** evaluation on two distinct datasets demonstrates UltraSegNet’s superior performance:On the BUSI dataset,it obtains a precision of 0.915,a recall of 0.908,and an F1 score of *** the UDAIT dataset,it achieves robust performance across the board,with a precision of 0.901 and recall of ***,these improvements are achieved at clinically feasible computation times,taking 235 ms per image on standard GPU ***,UltraSegNet does amazingly well on difficult small lesions(less than 10 mm),achieving a detection accuracy of *** is a huge improvement over traditional methods that have a hard time with small-scale features,as standard models can only achieve 0.63–0.71 *** improvement in small lesion detection is particularly crucial for early-stage breast cancer *** from this work demonstrate that UltraSegNet can be practically deployable in clinical workflows to improve breast cancer screening accuracy.

Changes in the Atmospheric Electric Field Signal (AEFS) are highly correlated with weather changes, especially with thunderstorm activities. However, little attention has been paid to the ambiguous weather information implicit in AEFS changes. In this paper, a Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method is used for the first time to develop an innovative approach to characterize the weather attributes carried by AEFS. First, a time series dataset is created in the time domain using AEFS attributes. The AEFS-based weather is evaluated according to the time-series Membership Degree (MD) changes obtained by inputting this dataset into the FCM. Second, thunderstorm intensities are reflected by the change in distance from a thunderstorm cloud point charge to an AEF apparatus. Thus, a matching relationship is established between the normalized distance and the thunderstorm dominant MD in the space domain. Finally, the rationality and reliability of the proposed method are verified by combining radar charts and expert experience. The results confirm that this method accurately characterizes the weather attributes and changes in the AEFS, and a negative distance-MD correlation is obtained for the first time. The detection of thunderstorm activity by AEF from the perspective of fuzzy set technology provides a meaningful guidance for interpretable thunderstorms. © 2024

This paper deals with the simulation calculation of the transmission (S21) parameter in a biomaterial calculated parametrically on the basis harvest waste (residues) as a function of the density, moisture and temperature of the material. Since this material is essentially wood, empirical and semi-empirical models are used to determine the electromagnetic parameters of the wood material as a function of the density, moisture and temperature of the material according to the available literature. The structural - geometric and environmental parameters of the material that are the subject of the research are: density, moisture and temperature of the material, and the electromagnetic parameters that "describe" them are: relative permittivity Εr, loss tangent tan δ and electrical conductivity σ. The simulation model is based on a system for measuring coupling parameters in free space, which consists of two antennas, between which a 600 × 600 mm sample of the biomaterial is placed, and a network analyzer. With increasing density and moisture significantly increases the relative dielectric constant, the loss tangent and the electrical conductivity of the measured biosamples. The temperature change in a wide temperature range (20 ℃–100 ℃) has no significant influence on the electromagnetic parameters. Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide,significantly impairing motor and cognitive *** rehabilitation is often hindered by the heterogeneity of stroke lesions,variability in recovery patterns,and the complexity of electroencephalography(EEG)signals,which are often contaminated by *** classification of motor imagery(MI)tasks,involving the mental simulation of movements,is crucial for assessing rehabilitation strategies but is challenged by overlapping neural signatures and patient-specific *** address these challenges,this study introduces a graph-attentive convolutional long short-term memory(LSTM)network(GACL-Net),a novel hybrid deep learning model designed to improve MI classification accuracy and ***-Net incorporates multi-scale convolutional blocks for spatial feature extraction,attention fusion layers for adaptive feature prioritization,graph convolutional layers to model inter-channel dependencies,and bidi-rectional LSTM layers with attention to capture temporal *** on an open-source EEG dataset of 50 acute stroke patients performing left and right MI tasks,GACL-Net achieved 99.52%classification accuracy and 97.43%generalization accuracy under leave-one-subject-out cross-validation,outperforming existing state-of-the-art ***,its real-time processing capability,with prediction times of 33–56 ms on a T4 GPU,underscores its clinical potential for real-time neurofeedback and adaptive *** findings highlight the model’s potential for clinical applications in assessing rehabilitation effectiveness and optimizing therapy plans through precise MI classification.
