Infrared thermography as a non-destructive testing method provides radiometric records of surface temperature distribution in the form of an image. During thermographic measurements, emissivity coefficient should be (re)factored to obtain the correct temperature values. Corrections in corresponding software for infrared thermographic cameras for surfaces with high emissivities yield sufficiently accurate results. However, surfaces that are characterized by low emissivity which behaviors differ significantly from that of high emitters pose a challenge. This paper analyses the application of software assistance in the correction of radiation values of two surfaces with contrasting emissivities that compose the same object. Results of the analysis are presented in tabular and graphical form to illustrate the challenge of correction process.

This article is a contribution within the Erasmus+ project titled "The Future Lies in Applied Artificial Intelligence"(FAAI) and examines research of collected IT specifications of good practices in Area of Artificial Intelligence (AAI). The article describes research conducted, the purpose of which is to find IT specifications of good practices in AI and describe their characteristics, like an area of implementation of the AI solution, the result of processing the data, the source of data, Data processing, and quality, what tools are used for processing data, and others. AAI application cases and the technologies used for implementation are reviewed. The specifics of the data and the applications used are described. The examination of these technologies will provide insight into which ones are favored and provide an overview of what is commonly referred to as "best practices"in this particular *** research encompassed a global examination of cases. The analysis of the data offers valuable insights in various directions:•Application area of ML/AI•Type of machine learning problems in described good practices in Artificial Intelligence•Type of models were developed within the projects•What is the area of implementation of AI solution•Used AI libraries (frameworks).•Source of data•Data characteristics•Tools are used to store data•What platform solution is used•What type of storage is usedThe research and analysis done provide a clear picture of the used IT specifications of good practices in AI. The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the technologies that will be used all over the world in the future, and its security and privacy features are the primary concerns. However, the most critical limitation to overcome before the IoT's widespread use is addressing its security concerns. One of the most critical tasks to address the security problems posed by the IoT is the detection of network intrusions. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) for the IoT face substantial challenges because of the functional and physical diversity of the devices. In the rapidly growing IoT industry, the use of IDS is essential for ensuring security since many devices communicate efficiently. IDS are crucial for continual monitoring and responding to any security risks, ensuring the integrity and reliability of interconnected IoT networks. The primary objective of this research is to develop a feature-selection-based intrusion classification model. Therefore, we develop an IoT-IDS feature selection-based classification model to detect intrusions. We propose a metaheuristic algorithm, the Chaotic Vortex Search (CVS) algorithm, for feature selection. The Fast-Learning Network (FLN), an artificial neural network (ANN) model, is additionally proposed for classification. We use the IDS datasets, such as CIC IDS-2017 and BoT-IoT, to evaluate our research model. To test and validate the proposed model, extensive experiments were performed, and the outcomes stated that the CVS-FLN model achieved 99.77% accuracy, 99.92% specificity, 99.60% precision, 99.81% detection rate, and a 99.72% F1-score in the CIC IDS dataset, and 99.68% accuracy, 99.30% precision, 99.83% specificity, 99.11% detection rate, and a 99.21% F1-score in evaluating the BoT-IoT dataset. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

A phase demodulation method immune to laser phase noise based on time-delay beat-frequency coherent Φ-OTDR is proposed. In this method, the two Rayleigh backscattered light beams with time delay are beat with local light beams respectively, and the phase difference of the two beat signals is used instead of the traditional distance-difference phase to obtain the local disturbance information. In this way, the impact of laser phase noise introduce by the distance-difference phase is avoid, and the constraint of laser linewidth on phase demodulation performance is weakened. In the experiment, a demodulation accuracy of -63.5dB rad2/Hz is achieved under the condition of a laser with a linewidth of 100kHz, which is improve by 11dB compared to traditional phase demodulation method. © 2023 IEEE.

This article is devoted to the actual topic of studying scenarios for adapting a network infrastructure to a network of remote patient monitoring systems (PCMS). The paper presents an overview and analysis of scenarios for adapting the network infrastructure of monitoring systems. The stages of scenario execution have been studied and simulation models of the RPMS network infrastructure have been developed that implement various adaptation scenarios. A comparative analysis of adaptation scenarios was carried out according to several criteria, such as the speed of request delivery, delivery time, and network load. Simulation models built in the Anylogic environment, a powerful simulator of mass service system, showed the effectiveness of the mesh topology in relation to the ad-hoc topology according to several criteria. The theoretical significance of the work lies in carrying out analytical work on scenarios for adapting the network infrastructure of the RPMS, as well as in studying the network architecture. The practical significance of the work lies in the development of a simulation model that allows you to explore scenarios for adapting the network architecture. © 2022 IEEE.

Table, as an information carrier with high information density and direct display form, are widely used in scientific literature and social production documents. Accurately identifying tables from various documents will significantly promote the intelligent application of documents. The table's structural information is crucial for comprehending how the text content in the table relates to one another, but teaching a computer to fully understand a table's structure is still a very difficult undertaking. In this research work, we provided a unique edge-based method to recognize table structures. Specifically, we define the inter-cell relationships as an edge prediction problem and leverage graph convolutional networks to learn representations of the cells. These learned representations are then utilized to directly predict the connections between the cells. The experimental results conducted on three publicly available datasets for table structure recognition provide compelling evidence supporting the feasibility and usefulness of our presented methodology. © 2023 IEEE.

The combination of data-driven approaches and machine learning techniques has changed the design approach for new materials, propelling materials science research into the realm of the fourth paradigm. Researchers in the field of materials science have increasingly focused on utilizing machine learning methods to uncover the underlying nonlinear relationships within material data. However, there is currently limited research in the field of aluminum-silicon alloys regarding the prediction of alloy performance based on the composition-process-structure relationship. Additionally, there is a lack of data sharing in the aluminum-silicon alloy domain. Therefore, this study proposes a methodology. Firstly, an aluminum-silicon alloy dataset is constructed by mining relevant information from materials literature. Then, high-dimensional features in the dataset are subjected to feature selection techniques for dimensionality reduction. Subsequently, a multilayer perceptron model is applied to investigate the relationship between input features such as alloy composition, preparation process, and microstructural parameters, and output features such as yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and elongation, enabling performance prediction. © 2023 IEEE.

Federated graph learning (FGL) enables the collaborative training of graph neural networks (GNNs) in a distributed manner. A critical challenge in FGL is label deficiency, which becomes more intricate due to non-IID decentralized data. Existing methods have focused on extracting knowledge from abundant unlabeled data, leaving few-shot labeled data unexplored. To this end, we propose ConFGL, a novel FGL framework to enhance label efficiency in federated learning with non-IID subgraphs. We formulate a semi-supervised objective to harness both unlabeled and labeled data, where self-supervised learning is achieved via a graph contrastive module. Additionally, a personalized federated learning (FL) strategy is adopted to concurrently train a global model and an individual model, which helps alleviate the representation disparities encoded by local models. Extensive experiments on four node-level datasets under non-IID settings have shown that ConFGL can consistently provide an average of 4.10% accuracy gains over supervised FL personalization methods while maintaining a higher GPU throughput. © 2024 IEEE

In Mobile sensor Networks, Each and every wireless node dynamically changes its location due to its mobility nature. The routing information is maintained by the master node to deliver a data packet from source to destination. The attackers easily hack this wireless network. The performance of the complete networks is dropped by packets transmission attacks. Attacker node drops the packet. An enhanced protection technique in response to packets transmission misbehaviour attacks is provided to increase the energy efficiency of mobile nodes. This paper proposed the Cryptographic formed Malicious Node Detection and Secure Routing framework (CMNDSR). This model incorporates three various strategies specially algorithm for control of access, to protects initial illegal node in the network. The suspected identification and prevention techniques based on hop count value. Secure routing method with a private key generated at random like one time password (OTP). The proposed methods are power efficient, by operating a minimum number of nodes in challenging environment. The misbehaviour nodes are promptly identified and isolated using this proposed approach. The Cryptographic based Secure routing algorithm is applied to provide secure transmission in wireless networking environment. The outcomes of the simulation display how effectively the recommended approach can identify malicious nodes in a MANET. In comparison with previous methods, the energy consumption is 10% lower and the suspicious node detection rate is increased by 95%. © 2024 IEEE.
