This paper investigates ethical issues implicated in multi-robot cooperation development. The authors explore the possibilities of applying ECCOLA - a tool and method for ethical AI software development in the context of robot-to-robot cooperation. The method entailed a workshop of researchers (N=10) who ideated multi-robot ethical concerns (N=149). These were analysed by an external researcher and emergent themes were compared to the ECCOLA framework. The results show the need for expansion of the ECCOLA framework. The paper makes three important contributions: 1) application of ECCOLA in multi-robot cooperation;2) identification of ethical concerns for robot-to-robot cooperation;and 3) urgency for attention towards mutual cooperation and confrontation in multi-robot cooperation. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper describes an innovative mobile phone application, named Rokkha that allows users to send location to predefined contacts by SMS to improve personal safety without internet connectivity. It discusses the development of the application, highlighting its offline functionality, intuitive interface, and the potential implications for emergency response systems. The literature review reveals the fact that in many of the existing emergency applications, connectivity with data is essential. Rokkha addresses this gap by providing a reliable alternative for location sharing during emergencies, particularly in areas with limited or no internet access. This paper aims to cover the designing considerations, implementation challenges and greater impact of using Rokkha in terms of reduced essential response time and assistance in crisis.

The demand for and use of residential electrical appliances has increased rapidly in recent years, as people seek a more comfortable life. Consequently, the number of faults and anomalies within these appliances has grown, resulting in a considerable amount of energy waste. Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools have shown promising results in appliance fault identification. However, most existing methods require the installation of individual sensors for each appliance, which is expensive and complicated. Additionally, these approaches are limited to a few numbers of appliances and fault types and often require manual intervention to set up rules with calculated threshold values for fault identification, which limits their expansion and generalization capability. Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) is an approach that monitors individual appliance energy consumption non-intrusively without installing individual sensors at the appliance level. This study proposes a NILM-based hierarchical faulty identification model that addresses many of the existing limitations. The proposed low load hierarchical NILM based model can easily expand for new appliances and faults without requiring manual rule settings. The solution has been developed on a modular basis using a convolutional neural network (CNN) that works in plug-and-play mode. The results have revealed unbiased performance of the model with minimal computational overheads.

Orthogonal matrices have become a vital means for coding and signal processing owing to their unique distributional *** orthogonal matrices based on amplitude or phase combinations have been extensively explored,the orthogonal matrix of polarization combinations(OMPC)is a novel,relatively unexplored ***,we propose a method for constructing OMPCs of any dimension encompassing 4n(where n is 1,2,4,8,…)mutually orthogonal 2ncomponent polarization *** the field of holography,the integration of polarization multiplexing techniques with polarization-sensitive materials is expected to emerge as a groundbreaking approach for multichannel hologram multiplexing,offering considerable enhancements in data storage capacity and security.A multidimensional OMPC enables the realization of multichannel multiplexing and dynamical modulation of information in polarization holographic *** consolidating all information into a single position within the material,we effectively avoided extraneous crosstalk during the reconstruction *** results show that achieving four distinct holographic images individually and simultaneously depends on the polarization combination represented by the incident *** discovery opens up a new avenue for achieving highly holographic information storage and dynamically displayed information,harnessing the potential of OMPC to expand the heretofore limited dimensionality of orthogonal polarization.

Electrical energy distribution faces the significant issue of losses, with power theft being a main factor contributing to these losses. This difficulty is not limited to Pakistan but is also prevalent in several other nations worldwide. This study introduces a technique that utilizes smart meters to identify the approximate whereabouts of power theft. In addition to the detection of power theft, this study also presents a mechanism for the eradication of unauthorized users. The methodology used involves comparing the overall energy with the energy that is lawfully utilized. Wireless communication systems, such as Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Network Repository Function (NRF), are used for communication between the meters.

Recent breakthroughs in computer vision have led to the invention of several intelligent systems in different sectors. In transportation, this advancement led to the possibility of proposing autonomous vehicles. This recent technology relies heavily on wireless sensors and Deep learning. For an autonomous vehicle to navigate safely on highways, the vehicle needs equipment to aid with detecting road anomalies such as potholes ahead of time. The massive improvement in computer vision models such as Deep Convolutional Neural networks (DCNN) or vision transformers (ViT) resulted in many success stories and tremendous breakthroughs in object detection tasks;this enabled the use of such models in different application areas. But many of the reported results are theoretical and unrealistic in real-life. Usually, the nature of these models is extensive;they are trained on High-performance computers or cloud computing environments with GPUs, which challenge their usage on edge devices. However, to come up with a light model that can fit into embedded devices, the model size has to be reduced significantly so that the performance will not be affected. Therefore, this paper proposes a lightweight model of pothole detection for an embedded device. The model achieved a state-of-the-art accuracy of 98%, with the number of parameters reduced to more than 70% compared with a deep CNN model;the model can be trained and deployed on embedded devices such as smartphones efficiently. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press. Today, financial technology is a part of consumer needs. Mobile payments are used to support daily transactions, so a study of factors that can support behavioral intention and mobile money use is conducted. This study examines the support of digital literacy, perceived security, and perceived compatibility of mobile payments in increasing behavioral intention and mobile money use. The research was conducted on mobile payment users in Bandung City (Indonesia), and 416 research participants were asked using a questionnaire. The research was conducted using a quantitative survey and was processed using the SmartPLS tool. Two tests, namely, the PLS Algorithm and Bootstrapping, were used to test the research model. Next, the research hypothesis testing was used to explain the results. The research results found positive support from digital literacy, perceived security, and perceived compatibility on mobile payment behavioral intention. However, only perceived compatibility can directly increase the use of mobile money. In line with the hypothesis test, behavioral intention can support increased mobile money use by digital payment users. The research findings explain the ability of behavioral intention to mediate support for digital literacy, perceived security, and perceived compatibility in mobile money use. © 2024 IEEE.

Digital face manipulation and classification have recently attracted the attention of academia and industry worldwide. Researchers have developed deep learning and computer vision techniques for detecting face manipulations, and it has become a challenging task to differentiate between authentic and manipulated face images manually. The challenge results in the decline of authenticity in digital media content. In this paper, we propose a framework for the classification of manipulating face images using the EfficientNet learning model. The proposed framework takes four digital facial forgeries: Face-Swap, Face-2-Face, DeepFakes, and neural textures. Multiple manipulation techniques are used to process manipulated faces, such as the Blaze-face tracking method, to determine the locations of the face images and pixel coordinates. The proposed framework is used first to identify the type of face manipulation and then to perform detection of the tampered regions in the face images. The proposed framework provided an automated benchmark that considers all four modification techniques in a realistic situation. The results show that the proposed framework outperforms existing approaches regarding accuracy and efficiency. Furthermore, the proposed framework is suitable for detecting digital face video manipulation in various applications, including forensics and security. © 2023 IEEE.
