A simple definition of supply chain can be said as a focus on recording activities involving the complete logistics of a given product. Food safety concerns to be an indispensable consideration for both consumers, producers and regulators. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 420,000 people die each year as a result of food contamination, which affects one in ten people across the world. Based on the reports from WHO, each year 125,000 children are being hospitalized because of foodborne illness, potentially placing them at the highest risk [1]. Due to this, Blockchain food traceability is gaining momentum in the global agri-food sector. The capability to track the life process of products from origin through every point of contact on its journey to the consumer instantaneously, bolsters credibility, efficiency and safety. Consumers would have the ability to trace their food from fields to plate, with the help of an Id. Blockchain holds the promise of disruptive transformation, but not without potential roadblocks along the way. In a fast-paced economy, transparency can be a double-edged sword.

Thermal analysis model of a building equipped with green roof and its energy optimization

In this research, the simulation and modeling of the energy use for a two-story theoretical building which is equipped with the green roof in three various climates of Iran (Tabriz: cold and dry;Tehran: mild and dry;and Bandar Abbas: tropical and dry) has been done. The purpose of this simulation is to show the impacts of the green roof on reducing thermal loads of a building and also its role in reducing the heat flux passing through the roof of the building. The procedure is that first this building takes its model in one software and then this 3D model is delivered to the Energy Plus simulation engine, then simulation is done in different period of times. For each city, a normal building with an asphalt roof was simulated along with a completely similar building which has the vegetation cover rather than asphalt in the last layer of its roof and the output results are compared with each other. The simulation results show that by applying the green roof, the basic state of annual electricity consumption in the cities of Tehran, Tabriz and Bandar Abbas decrease 16.3%, 12.5% and 23%, respectively. According to the values obtained, using the green roof is more efficient in tropical areas (Bandar Abbas) than cold areas (Tabriz). Bandar Abbas with tropical and dry climate needs much energy to cool the environment in the summer, but due to the balanced temperature in the cold months and no need of energy for heating, the amount of energy consumption in Bandar Abbas is much lower than other cities during the year. Also, the sensitization analysis tests have shown that the energy consumption of building is strongly dependent on the thickness of the soil parameters changes and plant density of the green roof structure, therefore more thickness of the applied soil has better thermal insulation. The economic savings per year based on the use of a green roof for the building, located in Tehran, Tabriz and Bandar Abbas are 562, 660 and 381 $ respectively. © 2023 The Author(s)

Talking face generation (TFG) allows for producing lifelike talking videos of any character using only facial images and accompanying text. Abuse of this technology could pose significant risks to society, creating the urgent need for research into corresponding detection methods. However, research in this field has been hindered by the lack of public datasets. In this paper, we construct the first large-scale multi-scenario talking face dataset (MSTF), which contains 22 audio and video forgery techniques, filling the gap of datasets in this field. The dataset covers 11 generation scenarios and more than 20 semantic scenarios, closer to the practical application scenario of TFG. Besides, we also propose a TFG detection framework, which leverages the analysis of both global and local coherence in the multimodal content of TFG videos. Therefore, a region-focused smoothness detection module (RSFDM) and a discrepancy capture-time frame aggregation module (DCTAM) are introduced to evaluate the global temporal coherence of TFG videos, aggregating multi-grained spatial information. Additionally, a visual-audio fusion module (V-AFM) is designed to evaluate audiovisual coherence within a localized temporal perspective. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate the reasonableness and challenges of our datasets, while also indicating the superiority of our proposed method compared to the state-of-the-art deepfake detection approaches. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

In this study, unidentified flying machines are built with real-time monitoring in mid-course settings for obstacle avoidance in mind. The majority of the currently available methods are implemented as comprehensive monitoring systems, with significant success in monitored applications like bridges, railways, etc. So, the predicted model is developed exclusively for specific monitoring settings, as opposed to the broad conditions that are used by the current approaches. Also, in the design model, the first steps are taken by limiting the procedure to specific heights, and the input thrust that is provided for take up operation is kept to a minimum. Due to the improved altitudes, the velocity and acceleration units have been cranked up on purpose, making it possible to sidestep intact objects. In addition, Advanced Image Mapping Localization (AIML) is used to carry out the implementation process, which identifies stable sites at the correct rotation angle. Besides, Cyphal protocol integration improves the security of the data-gathering process by transmitting information gathered from sensing devices. The suggested system is put to the test across five different case studies, where the designed Unmanned aerial vehicle can able to detect 25 obstacles in the narrow paths in considered routs but existing approach can able to identify only 14 obstacle in the same routes.

Cooperative spectrum sharing is a method to allocate the radio spectrum amongst users for high-velocity wireless networks. Ontologies play an important role in sharing and reusing knowledge. Several ontologies have been developed to describe a particular domain but from different perspectives from communities of developers and users. This has led to the existence of multiple ontologies covering the same or a different domain with varying degrees of variability. Ontology Alignment is typically used to identify correspondences between semantically related elements of two or more ontologies in order to address this problem. We propose A-LIOn a system that learns alignments by combining lexical and semantic approaches as well as machine learning. The system utilizes OWL EL reasoning for negative sampling which is iteratively used to inform the correction of the learning of the alignments. We demonstrate that A-LIOn produces alignments that are coherent with respect to OWL EL. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

The amalgamation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) into Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) provides significant prospects to improve network capabilities. This study examines the energy renewable efficiency and performance of UAVs operating in WSNs and MANETs. The assessment considers a variety of elements that influence energy consumption, including the possibility of integrating renewable energy, energy management measures, and the impact on overall network performance. This seeks to provide insights into optimizing energy usage and improving the operating efficiency of UAVs in these dynamic network situations through extensive analysis and evaluation. A special emphasis is placed on the management of mobility, the optimization of energy usage, and the effectiveness of routing protocols. The paper explores existing protocols such as LEACH, AODV and OLSR highlighting their benefits and challenges for UAV’s. A comparative analysis evaluates adapted protocols based on metrics such as energy efficiency, latency, and reliability.

Deep learning has been used in many applications where patterns from past-trained data can be extracted to predict future outcomes. Deep learning is characterized by training and testing data with the identical input feature space and same data distribution. However, whereas the data distribution is same between the training and testing data, the results might be different. This study introduces input image preprocessing, an enhanced neural network optimization method, and prediction probability ensemble to minimize the number of trainable parameters but maintain the outcome accuracy. In the suggested methodology, input images are separated into pixel interval and the fully connected layer jointly used with saved weights. Outcome results of separated input images are ensembled to the corresponding class probabilities of the original image. The results of the proposed method were compared with those of other previous methods in the image classification task and achieved successful performance accuracies in several datasets. © 2022 IEEE.

Accurate depth estimation from light field images is essential for various applications. Deep learning-based techniques have shown great potential in addressing this problem while still face challenges such as sensitivity to occlusions and difficulties in handling untextured areas. To overcome these limitations, we propose a novel approach that utilizes both local and global features in the cost volume for depth estimation. Specifically, our hybrid cost volume network consists of two complementary sub-modules: a 2D ContextNet for global context information and a matching cost volume for local feature information. We also introduce an occlusion-aware loss that accounts for occlusion areas to improve depth estimation quality. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach on the UrbanLF and HCInew datasets, showing significant improvements over existing methods, especially in occluded and untextured regions. Our method disentangles local feature and global semantic information explicitly, reducing the occlusion and untextured area reconstruction error and improving the accuracy of depth estimation. © 2023 IEEE.

We present a general approach for determining the unknown (or uncertain) position and orientation of a sensor mounted on a robot in a known environment, using only a few distance measurements (between 2 to 6 typically), which is advantageous, among others, in sensor cost, and storage and information-communication resources. In-between the measurements, the robot can perform predetermined local motions in its workspace, which are useful for narrowing down the candidate poses of the sensor. We demonstrate our approach for planar workspaces, and show that, under mild transversality assumptions, already two measurements are sufficient to reduce the set of possible poses to a set of curves (one-dimensional objects) in the three-dimensional configuration space of the sensor $\mathbb{R}^{2}\times \mathbb{S}^{1},$ and three or more measurements reduce the set of possible poses to a finite collection of points. However, analytically computing these potential poses for non-trivial intermediate motions between measurements raises substantial hardships and thus we resort to numerical approximation. We reduce the localization problem to a carefully tailored procedure of intersecting two or more implicitly defined two-manifolds, which we carry out to any desired accuracy, proving guarantees on the quality of the approximation. We demonstrate the real-time effectiveness of our method even at high accuracy on various scenarios and different allowable intermediate motions. We also present experiments with a physical robot.
