Drones have evolved into sophisticated autonomous systems with a multitude of applications, including military operations, environmental monitoring, traffic oversight, data transmission, package delivery, fire targeting, and film production. As the Internet of Drones (IoD) ecosystem expands, ensuring secure and real-time access for authorized users becomes increasingly vital. User and drone authentication is crucial for this reason. In response to these challenges, Srinivas et al. proposed a lightweight three-factor authentication protocol designed for the IoD. While the authors assert that their protocol is resilient against known cyber threats, our research identifies critical vulnerabilities that challenge this claim. Although this scheme has already been cryptanalyzed in previous studies, in this paper we propose two new attacks on this scheme. Firstly, we present a concrete attack against the perfect forward secrecy of this scheme, and then we show that it is vulnerable to unauthorized access attack by a valid user to an unauthorized area's information. These weaknesses highlight the pressing need for the development of more secure authentication mechanisms in the IoD environment. Moving forward, addressing these vulnerabilities will be essential for fostering trust and ensuring the safe integration of drones into various applications, ultimately contributing to the advancement of IoD technology.

This paper describes what has been happening in SRAM scaling trend in terms of bit-cell size and operating voltage (Vdd) since 65 nm process generation. The key design solutions to extend a 6T SRAM lifetime are reviewed and discussed including a possible bit cell scaling trend comparing with an 8T SRAM as one of the successors. Each dependency of 3 key margins of write margin (WRM), static noise margin (SNM), and cell current (Icell) on the scaling ratio of Vdd and MOSFET channel feature size has been shown to clarify the real issues in the scaling. The bit cell area scaling trends of 6T and 8T SRAMs are predicted. It has been shown that the area of 6T will be getting closer to that of 8T at 32 nm and should cross over around 22 nm. In addition, design solutions to brake on runaway leakage increasing with scaling threshold voltage (Vt) and gate oxide thickness are reviewed and discussed.

This paper describes the comparisons of area scaling trend of various SRAM margin-assist solutions for VT variability issues, which are based on efforts by not only the cell topology changes from 6 T to 8 T and 10 T but also incorporating multiple voltages supply for cell terminal biasing and timing sequence controls of read and write. The various solutions are analyzed in light of an impact of ever increasing VT variation (sigma VT ) on the required area overhead for each design solution, resulting in slowdown in the scaling pace. It has been found that 6 T will be allowed long reign even in 15 nm, if sigma VT increasing pace is optimistically assumed, which sigma VT can be suppressed to <70 mV even at 15 nm, thanks to EOT scaling for LSTP process, otherwise 10 T and 8 T with read modify write will be needed.

Toward ubiquitous network society, there have been challenges to construct smart spaces in living space such as homes and offices by connecting embedded devices with each other;however, many existing smart spaces tend to depend on particular platform or be a self-contained environment. In this paper, we describe requirements on frameworks for smart spaces with embedded devices, and then propose a new framework based on the requirements. The proposed framework is designed to have high scalability and be suitable for cross-platform environments by employing RESTful web service for device interaction architecture. By encoding communication messages for requesting services in x-www-form-urlencoded scheme, the proposed framework can support many kinds of devices including resource-limited devices which can't afford an XML parser. Evaluation with existing frameworks shows the proposed framework is suitable as a framework for smart spaces because of its simple and lightweight architecture.
