This paper implements a network traffic analysis system with a focus on cybersecurity applications. The novelty lies in its combined approach of real-time traffic monitoring and machine learning-driven anomaly detection. Using the Scapy library, the core system extracts features such as packet rates, inter-arrival times, port usage, and TTL distributions from live network traffic. Four classifiers were evaluated for their effectiveness in detecting potential threats or unusual patterns, such as VPN usage. The Random Forest classifier achieved the highest accuracy at (0.976), followed by Gradient Boosting with an accuracy of (0.967). Logistic Regression demonstrated an accuracy of (0.902), while the Support Vector Machine (SVM) recorded a lower accuracy of (0.694). These results underscore the system's potential to accurately identify network anomalies, making it a valuable tool for cybersecurity professionals. © 2024 IEEE.

Breast cancer is a disease that is prevalent all over the world, and that is essential for the efficient treatment and care of breast cancer patients who are monitored remotely. However, traditional conventional centralized systems for patient monitoring face challenges in providing effective and efficient care for breast cancer patients, including limited access to medical records, ineffective communication, and patient participation. Fragmentation of records and difficulty in obtaining information can hinder patient care in terms of both privacy and data security. The proposed system uses machine learning, blockchain, smart contracts, hybrid access control, and hybrid intrusion prevention and detection to diagnose breast cancer decentralized. The technology analyses medical data using advanced machine learning algorithms to diagnose breast cancer accurately and provide healthcare practitioners with relevant insights. The blockchain stores patient information, diagnostic results, and metadata transparently and securely to protect data integrity and privacy. Smart contracts automate and enforce rules, securing data and improving diagnostic workflow. User roles and attributes are used to manage access to sensitive data and improve collaboration. Patients, doctors, and researchers have different permits and limits. Secures granular data and prevents unauthorized access. Scalability and network congestion are addressed via a hybrid network management system. The system optimizes resource allocation, load balancing, and data transfer by integrating centralized and decentralized methodologies. These features reduce delays and assure seamless operation. Experimental results reveal that the suggested system detects breast cancer more accurately than centralized methods. In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

This paper presents SoloScholar, a novel asynchronous online learning platform designed to deliver personalized education to large undergraduate student groups by integrating established pedagogical frameworks with Large Language Models (LLMs). Leveraging Bloom's Revised Taxonomy, learners are categorized into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels to personalize the educational content. The platform employs the Questioning and Understanding to Improve Learning and Thinking (QUILT) model to structure tutorial sessions and simulate the teaching role of a tutor at a Higher Education Institute (HEI). To generate contextually relevant and cognitively appropriate questions, carefully crafted prompts are fed into LLMs, synthesizing information from reliable knowledge sources. The efficacy of SoloScholar was evaluated through a dual assessment approach: a technical evaluation using the Retrieval Augmented Generation Assessment (RAGAS) framework and a human evaluation involving academic experts. The technical evaluation demonstrated high scores in answer relevancy and context utilization across all learning levels. Similarly, quantitative responses from academic experts indicated strong satisfaction with the quality and appropriateness of the generated content. The findings underscore the potential of integrating LLMs with pedagogical models to enhance personalization in online education. SoloScholar effectively addresses challenges associated with large-group teaching by providing adaptive learning experiences that cater to diverse cognitive needs. © 2024 IEEE.

Usually, only time and distance are considered when choosing a route, not the risk involved. Due to not taking the danger into account before the trip, we might have to experience numerous problems and risks. As a result, there may be dangerous situations for the driver and passengers and time and fuel wastage. Thus, the issue is how to evaluate the road while choosing the route before using it and What elements are crucial to take into account while evaluating a route's issues. This project aims to develop a system to evaluate risk before a vehicle enters a dangerous area and predict the best path by evaluating aspects of roads including accidents, road repairs, and road blockers. Image Classification is used to detect road repairs and blockers. Federated Learning will be used to improve the accuracy of the Road blocker detector. Here, Clients will train locally using private data, send their optimized parameters to the central server, and then aggregate those trained parameters to produce a global model. This process will be continued until the system has a trained model that is ideal for predicting roadblocks. YOLOV7 object detector will be used to detect vehicle collisions and accidents in real-time. Finally, Federated Learning will be used to notify users about detected incidents and event details will be marked in a Google map which is running on a Flask application. Using the Blocker map, drivers can decide which route is more suitable based on the proposed system's detections and blocker details. © 2024 IEEE.

The focus group on drama patterns we organized at EuroPLoP 2023 attracted 16 participants (apart from the organizers), who together built a short drama play (created by Aleksandra Vranic) based on the motifs from the stories of Alice in Wonderland. We discussed how particular drama patterns metaphorically correspond to some software patterns and elaborated on two examples of such correspondence: the Thoughts Reflecting Environment drama pattern and its correspondence to the Observer design pattern and the Loosely Coupled Situations drama pattern and its correspondence to the Visitor design pattern. Both drama patterns were first played by the participants and then related to the corresponding design pattern. We also played Observer in a technical, nonmetaphoric way. We also made a performance at the banquet, which was accepted with delight. We achieved this with no rehearsals and with the actor for the main role appointed just before the performance, which confirmed once more how powerful patterns are. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). User contributions is an important part in software development, the pursuit of identifying effective means of user contributions in software development is a crucial area of interest for software companies and their development teams. Determining the most opportune moments, locations, and methods for such contributions presents a significant challenge for organizations, which necessitates the exploration of generic and proven solutions. Applying patterns, established and observed solutions may provide the answers to such challenges and similar ones. This paper offers insights into the practical implementation of seven newly discovered organizational patterns in a real-life environment. The amount of antisocial online behavior (AOB) in the political field has been on the rise in recent years. In the research, we are dealing with the reason for confusing AOB with other forms of antisocial behavior. We specifically dealt with NLP in the political field in the Slovak language, with a specific number of prefixes and suffixes. In this paper, we focus on the area of detection of manipulation of political discussions. The data source consisted of previously collected data in the period from April 2018 with an update until November 19, 2022 realized within this research from the site ***, which we supplemented with new claims. We trained several classification models on preprocessed data and evaluated them. For multi-class classification, the best results were achieved using logistic regression and a support vector machine trained on the resampled dataset-both achieving an accuracy of 0.56 and a macro F1 score of 0.39. In the case of binary classification, the best results were achieved by logistic regression-accuracy 0.7 and macro F1 score 0.56. These models could help detect manipulation in online political discussions. © 2023 IEEE.

Despite the efforts to narrow the gap between software engineering learning and the need for practice in the software industry, beginners often find it difficult to match their academic skills with professional life practices. Therefore, there is an urgent need to know the best ways to provide students with the practical experiences they need to build professional competencies in the field of software engineering. This research aims to evaluate the extent to which students can employ software engineering concepts and apply them to their graduation projects. Besides, this study seeks to shed light on the methods used in teaching software engineering courses at the faculty of information technology at the University of Benghazi, to improve them. To achieve this goal, we conducted a study spanning two semesters. The study includes a questionnaire to collect the answers of 74 university students studying in their final semester in the software engineering Department and working on their graduation project. We analyzed the results with responses from 30 students. The results show that students have some necessary skills that prepare them for future work in software engineering. The results also showed that there is a gap among students between the concepts they received and their practical application in their graduation projects. Some guidelines are presented that may contribute to improving the educational environment for teaching software engineering. © 2024 IEEE.

Digital transformation allows organizations to maintain sustainable development and address ongoing challenges. The current digital transformation and advanced technology mega-trend significantly impact society and organizations, making digital technology crucial for public and private organizations, universities, and daily life. Despite the rising demand, there is often a lack of standard policies governing the use of digital technology. Practical experience and literature reveal key challenges in transitioning from traditional to digital systems, including limited public awareness, mindset, ICT skills, government support, and collaboration between organizations and software engineering societies. Governments must establish digital transformation policies and offer software development guidelines for public organizations to digitalize their systems. Additionally, they should provide or support research projects funded by governmental and nongovernmental organizations to identify infrastructure and regulatory issues within Afghanistan’s digital transformation context. This study documents six organizational patterns observed during the transformation of traditional systems into digital systems, illustrating their sequence and explaining the development of a pattern language from these patterns. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
