This paper presents a review study that explores the landscape and challenges of AI-assisted impact analysis in software requirements engineering. The growth of complex and change-prone software systems has highlighted the need for AI techniques - especially machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) - to be harnessed to improve impact analysis scalability and efficiency. Key challenges identified include data quality issues, scalability constraints, and ethical problems related to bias and accountability. To investigate these challenges and provide insights, a review was conducted across IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, and Google Scholar, cross referencing between keywords that include concepts from the domains of "software requirements", "impact analysis", and "AI-Assisted approaches". Inclusion criteria focused on studies that presents empirical data on AI-assisted impact analysis. This study highlights research gaps and presents insights for overcoming obstacles using emerging technologies such as edge AI in order to enhance post-impact analysis. Findings show that while AI improves traditional impact analysis, further work is necessary to deliver effective, ethical and practical implementations within evolving software contexts. © 2024 IEEE.

Robust steganographic approach using generative adversarial network and compressive autoencoder

Nowadays, social media applications and websites have become a crucial part of people’s lives;for sharing their moments, contacting their families and friends, or even for their jobs. However, the fact that these valuable data are transferred via the Internet and open channels, which are vulnerable to attacks and espionage, requires using defense methods to improve the security of data transmission. Recently, the progress of Deep Learning (DL) inspired researchers to use it with security methods such as steganography, the art of hiding secret data in unrelated content. DL and steganography combined enhanced the hiding properties, especially in the Coverless Image Steganography (CIS) methods. In this paper, we propose a Compressive Coverless Image Steganography (CCIS) model, which is a generated-based CIS, to improve the capacity and robustness of Steganography. This model uses the compressive autoencoder to compress the message, thus increasing the capacity, and uses the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) to generate a stego image from the compressed vector, thus enhancing concealment ability, besides using a regression model and optimization method to extract the data. Another version was designed to enable sending binary messages by replacing the compressive autoencoder network with a robust mapping rule. Experiments show that the proposed model could improve the characteristics of Steganography. Furthermore, the proposed model could extract binary messages with 256 bits from attacked stego images with 99% recovery accuracy. Thus, capacity and robustness were enhanced using our model with both images and text as secret messages. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Distributed systems based on the Internet allow resources widely dispersed throughout the network to be utilized cooperatively and shared. This allows the end-user to obtain massive computational power to perform a computationally intensive task. This is where the essential function of resource finding comes into play. Even though different procedures have been presented to identify multi-attribute resources, these processes have been plagued by many problems, including significant overhead and inefficiency as the number of resources increases. Distributed Quadtree Overlay is the innovative technology presented in this academic study. With DOTO, distance-aware querying is used. Moreover, since DOTO is constructed via the local network, it does not need any communication. As a result of the trials, the Distributed Quadtree Overlay performed better than the Chord. According to the findings, Distributed Quadtree Overlay is superior to Chord in terms of communication time since it needs fewer hopes and messages, uses less memory, and produces better (shortened) communication times. © 2024 IEEE.

In general, parallel applications require lots of computer power and grid computing. Efficient Resource Discovery (RD) algorithms determine grid resource allocation and execution time. To improve the resource distribution and reduce grid node communication costs, this study introduces hierarchical, weighted RD (WRD). A behavioral modeling technique checks the algorithm's accuracy and efficacy. For complete analysis and simulation, StarUML implements a WRD algorithm behavioral model. The NuSMV model checker evaluates reachability and deadlock-free RD. The WRD algorithm is assessed using key performance metrics. To evaluate resource-finding efficiency, each request's inspected nodes are counted. The number of re-discovery operations shows the algorithm's resource flexibility. Algorithms that find free resources with high bandwidth links are also evaluated to optimize grid resource allocation. Resource information tables could improve resource location. Resource information is stored in a table to help the algorithm allocate resources. This research seeks to develop grid computing by solving RD problems. The hierarchical architecture and weighted resource selection of the WRD algorithm improve resource inspection, flexibility, and high-bandwidth RD. Behavioral modeling and verification show the algorithm's accuracy and grid suitability. WRD and resource information tables boost grid computing RD efficiency and efficacy. This research optimizes grid performance and resource allocation. © 2024 IEEE.

Bidirectional attentional mechanism for Arabic chatbot

A chatbot is an intelligent agent that developed based on Natural language processing (NLP) to interact with people in a natural language. The development of multiple deep NLP models has allowed for the creation of a vector representation of words and sentences that captures meaning in context. In this paper, a generative Arabic chatbot is trained with the Sequence to Sequence (Seq2Seq) model based on encoder-decoder architecture. It utilizes both the bi-directional encoder types of Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). The chatbot was trained using preprocessed dataset of 12 k conversations that were translated from English to Arabic. An attention layer was provided to the RNNs to focus on the important data between the input and output sequences. The obtained results showed that the proposed chatbot performed well with long sentences and elicited positive responses. In addition to that BiLSTM with attention performs better than BiGRU without attention. Increasing demand of high-speed connectivity has challenged the future technologies (5G/B5G) in terms of large bandwidth, ultralow latency, massive coverage, reliable connectivity and rapid deployment. Free space optical (FSO) communication addresses these challenges in a cost effective way due to its unlicensed spectrum, high data-rate and long range. To develop a low-cost indoor FSO link, we present high-speed transceivers based on laser diode and photodiode. The transceiver link has achieved signal transmission up to 65 MHz providing minimum data rate of 130 Mbps using NRZ modulation. Link measurements are performed in an indoor campus environment by employing an optical assembly consisting plano-convex lenses, to achieve a range of 50 meters. An experimental demonstration of a square wave transmission up to 1 MHz is presented along with 53% improved quality of retrieved signal. Moreover, OSNR (13.6 dB) and BER (10−9) parameters are studied to enhance the performance of future FSO networks. © 2025 SPIE.

Preservation of the crops depends on early and accurate detection of pests on crops as they cause several diseases decreasing crop production and quality. Several deep-learning techniques have been applied to overcome the issue of pest detection on crops. We have developed the YOLOCSP-PEST model for Pest localization and classification. With the Cross Stage Partial Network (CSPNET) backbone, the proposed model is a modified version of You Only Look Once Version 7 (YOLOv7) that is intended primarily for pest localization and classification. Our proposed model gives exceptionally good results under conditions that are very challenging for any other comparable models especially conditions where we have issues with the luminance and the orientation of the images. It helps farmers working out on their crops in distant areas to determine any infestation quickly and accurately on their crops which helps in the quality and quantity of the production yield. The model has been trained and tested on 2 datasets namely the IP102 data set and a local crop data set on both of which it has shown exceptional results. It gave us a mean average precision (mAP) of 88.40% along with a precision of 85.55% and a recall of 84.25% on the IP102 dataset meanwhile giving a mAP of 97.18% on the local data set along with a recall of 94.88% and a precision of 97.50%. These findings demonstrate that the proposed model is very effective in detecting real-life scenarios and can help in the production of crops improving the yield quality and quantity at the same time.
