The Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud computing model has become a compelling computing solution with a proven ability to reduce costs and improve resource efficiency. Virtualization has a key role in supporting the IaaS model. However, virtualization also makes it a target for potent rootkits because of the loss of control problem over the hosted Virtual Machines (VMs). This makes traditional in-guest security solutions, relying on operating system kernel trustworthiness, no longer an effective solution to secure the virtual infrastructure of the IaaS model. In this paper, we explore briefly the security problem of the IaaS cloud computing model, and present CloudSec, a new virtualization-aware monitoring appliance that provides active, transparent and real-time security monitoring for hosted VMs in the IaaS model. CloudSec utilizes virtual machine introspection techniques to provide fine-grained inspection of VM's physical memory without installing any monitoring code inside the VM. It actively reconstructs and monitors the dynamically changing kernel data structures instances, as a prior step to enable providing protection for kernel data structures. We have implemented a proof-of-concept prototype using VMsafe libraries on a VMware ESX platform. We have evaluated the system monitoring accuracy and the performance overhead of CloudSec.

Today, soft skills are crucial factors to the success of a project. For a certain set of jobs, soft skills are often considered more crucial than the hard skills or technical skills, in order to perform the job effectively. However, it is not a trivial task to identify the appropriate soft skills for each job. In this light, this study proposed a solution to assist employers when preparing advertisement via identification of suitable soft skills together with its relevancy to that particular job title. Bayesian network is employed to solve this problem because it is suitable for reasoning and decision making under uncertainty. The proposed Bayesian Network is trained using a dataset collected via extracting information from advertisements and also through interview sessions with a few identified experts.

Use case model is subject to changes throughout the software development life cycle. Impacts of these changes affect directly the requirements and consequently the resulted system. Scrapping and replacing use case is expensive;in this paper we proposed a solution that integrates changes in use case in requirement phase. This solution combines independent enhancements to some version of a use case into a new version that include the enhancements and the old use case. CASE tool implementation and experimental evaluation of the proposed approach showed promising results in terms of software development time saving and better use case models integrity.

Lack of hearing ability hinders deaf children from mastering grammar in language studies. Unfortunately, such software targeting Malay language is limited. This paper attempts to generate new approach in handling such software. These include detection of defects when switching into local languages, date format and accommodating the local laws. The acceptance of international software for local use goes beyond just these aspects. For this purpose, software that supports the multi-languages is evaluated. The main research question of this paper: The lack of cultural dimensions in localisation testing of assistive technology decreases the effectiveness of localisation testing of the localised software. On the account of cultural dimensions, Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions will be experimented to study which cultural dimensions are most suited for such software. From our empirical results, the failure rate of the testing is higher compared to incorporating culture dimensions.
