In this paper, combined with Tatsuoka 's Rule Space Model and the Attribute hierarchy Method (AHM), Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is firstly applied into Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT). Based on FCA, an initiatory and systemic CAT with cognitive diagnosis (CD) is designed, which diagnoses examinees real time. The result of Monte Carlo study shows that examinees ' knowledge states are well diagnosed and the precision in examinees ' abilities estimation is satisfied.

The information measurement of the NAR (network access requester) is the key element for trusted network access. The only issues TNC (trusted network connection) proposed the conception of integrity measurement and pointed out that only if the measurements passed can the NAS ((network access server) let the endpoint enter. But no concrete techniques are expatiated in TNC, and the related specification IMM (integrity measurement model) is too complex to implement. Virtually, the measurement cannot be localized to the integrity. In this paper, a new information measurement architecture is proposed, in which not only the integrity information of the platform, but also the identity of user and platform, and the information of system availability are considered. The related techniques (information collection and verification etc.) are illustrated, and the trust chain transfer is analyzed at the end.

In our work, we mainly use a lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) to simulate the underlying dynamics of miscible mixtures in binary fluid simulation called TFLBM. However, it suffers from the limitation of only resolving mixture flows with low Reynolds number, and it would blow up when the Reynolds number gets higher. In order to resolve such mixture flows with higher Reynolds number, by further investigation, we proposed to use a subgrid method to stabilize the computation of two fluid mixtures. The idea of the subgrid method is to split the actual velocity field into large-scale (resolved) and small-scale (unresolved) components. The effect of the unresolved motion on the resolved one is included by introducing a so-called eddy viscosity, and the method is also referred to as large eddy simulation (LES).

In this paper we present the findings of our research which aims to develop an emotions filter that can be added to an existing Malay text-to-speech system to produce an output expressing happiness, anger, sadness and fear. The end goal is to produce an output that is as natural as possible, thus contributing towards the enhancement of the existing system. The emotions filter was developed by manipulating pitch and duration of the output using a rule-based approach. The data was made up of emotional sentences produced by a female native speaker of Malay. The information extracted from the analysis was used to develop the filter. The emotional speech output underwent several acceptance tests. The results showed that the emotions filter developed was compatible with FASIH and other TTS systems using the rule-based approach of prosodic manipulation. However, further work need to be done to enhance the naturalness of the output.

We propose a new 3D image segmentation method based on prediction, block-matching and partial 3D constraint in this paper. The algorithm only needs to set a few key points in the first image. We use intensity information and block-matching to optimize the initial condition, and consider the 3D object's characteristics at the same time. By using the partial 3D constraints we can get the result of 2D and 3D smoothness. Experimental results validate its usefulness in 3D image segmentation.

Providing fault tolerance for message passing parallel application on a distributed environment is a rule rather than an exception. A node failure can cause the whole computation to stop and has to be restarted from the beginning if no fault tolerance is available. However, introducing fault tolerance has some overhead on speedup that can be achieved. In this paper, we introduce a new technique called replication with cross-over packets for reliability and to increase fault tolerance over Very Large Scale Grids (VLSG). This technique has two pronged effect of avoiding single point of failure and single link of failure. We incorporate this new technique into the L-BSP model and show the possible speedup of parallel process. We also derive the achievable speedup for some fundamental parallel algorithms using this technique.

In this paper,we propose a novel method that represents the highly-complex point sets by clustering the points to normal-mapped B-spline surfaces (NBSs). The main idea is to construct elaborate normal maps on simple surfaces for the realistic rendering of complex point-set models. Based on this observation,we developed the coarse,normal-mapped B-spline surfaces to approximate the original point datasets with fine surface details. In our algorithm,a genetic clustering algorithm is proposed to automatically segment the point samples into several clusters according to their statistical properties,and a network of B-spline patches with normal maps are constructed according to the clustering results. Our experimental results show that this representation facilitates the modeling and rendering of complex point sets without losing the visual qualities.
