Software Defined Networking (SDN) promises to introduce flexibility and programmability into networks by offering developers a northbound interface (NBI) to create SDN applications. However, current designs and implementations have drawbacks, including the lack of Proper Standardization, Controller-Lock-In Situation, and Loss of Compatibility with SDN applications. Using Google Remote Procedure Call (gRPC) Application Programming Interface (API), the SDN controller can offer network resources, such as statistics, flow information, or topology data, to registered SDN applications. Furthermore, the gRPC enables controller-agnostic and language-agnostic development to enable proactive and reactive applications and services to interact with controller services. Transport Layer Security (TLS) enables confidentiality with encryption, authenticity with mutual authentication, and integrity with Message Authentication Code (MAC). Finally, Attribute-based Access Control (ABAC) and Logging capability for controller services allow fine-grained access control and accountability enforcement to ensure the security goals of the NBI. This research paper provides a complete architecture to converge different Northbound API streams into one secure, language-agnostic, controller-agnostic API stream with the help of the gRPC framework. © 2023 IEEE.

Interactive Recommendation(IR)formulates the recommendation as a multi-step decision-making process which can actively utilize the individuals’feedback in multiple steps and optimize the long-term user benefit of *** Reinforcement Learning(DRL)has witnessed great application in IR for ***,user cold-start problem impairs the learning process of the DRL-based recommendation ***,most existing DRL-based recommendations ignore user relationships or only consider the single-hop social relationships,which cannot fully utilize the social *** fact that those schemes can not capture the multiple-hop social relationships among users in IR will result in a sub-optimal *** address the above issues,this paper proposes a Social Graph Neural network-based interactive Recommendation scheme(SGNR),which is a multiple-hop social relationships enhanced DRL *** this framework,the multiple-hop social relationships among users are extracted from the social network via the graph neural network which can sufficiently take advantage of the social network to provide more personalized recommendations and effectively alleviate the user cold-start *** experimental results on two real-world datasets demonstrate that the proposed SGNR outperforms other state-of-the-art DRL-based methods that fail to consider social relationships or only consider single-hop social relationships.

Intelligent vehicle tracking and detection are crucial tasks in the realm of highway ***,vehicles come in a range of sizes,which is challenging to detect,affecting the traffic monitoring system’s overall *** learning is considered to be an efficient method for object detection in vision-based *** this paper,we proposed a vision-based vehicle detection and tracking system based on a You Look Only Once version 5(YOLOv5)detector combined with a segmentation *** model consists of six *** the first step,all the extracted traffic sequence images are subjected to pre-processing to remove noise and enhance the contrast level of the *** pre-processed images are segmented by labelling each pixel to extract the uniform regions to aid the detection phase.A single-stage detector YOLOv5 is used to detect and locate vehicles in *** detection was exposed to Speeded Up Robust Feature(SURF)feature extraction to track multiple *** on this,a unique number is assigned to each vehicle to easily locate them in the succeeding image frames by extracting them using the feature-matching ***,we implemented a Kalman filter to track multiple *** the end,the vehicle path is estimated by using the centroid points of the rectangular bounding box predicted by the tracking *** experimental results and comparison reveal that our proposed vehicle detection and tracking system outperformed other state-of-the-art *** proposed implemented system provided 94.1%detection precision for Roundabout and 96.1%detection precision for Vehicle Aerial Imaging from Drone(VAID)datasets,respectively.

The study of sign language recognition has been a thriving area of research for nearly twenty years. SSL translation using computer vision relies on extensive training using large number of images or video sequences. Yet, it poses a challenge for languages with limited resources, like Sinhala Sign Language. Due to the absence of accessible datasets for such investigations and lack of SSL recognition systems for real-time scenarios, the authors of this research have developed a completed system that consist of three components which are, static sign recognition, dynamic sign recognition and natural language processing to output a meaningful sentence. This paper describes the models and the results which are developed for static sign recognition. The final model for the Sinhala Static recognition has developed using media-pipe and SVM algorithm. And to compare the results and performance authors have used CNN, SVM, KNN and Random-forest algorithms to compare the results and performance. In this research, authors have made a valuable contribution by introducing a new dataset and developing a system for translating static SSL that gives 99.67% of accuracy and best performance when compared to the other two models and algorithms described in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

In computer vision,emotion recognition using facial expression images is considered an important research *** learning advances in recent years have aided in attaining improved results in this *** to recent studies,multiple facial expressions may be included in facial photographs representing a particular type of *** is feasible and useful to convert face photos into collections of visual words and carry out global expression *** main contribution of this paper is to propose a facial expression recognitionmodel(FERM)depending on an optimized Support Vector Machine(SVM).To test the performance of the proposed model(FERM),AffectNet is *** uses 1250 emotion-related keywords in six different languages to search three major search engines and get over 1,000,000 facial photos *** FERM is composed of three main phases:(i)the Data preparation phase,(ii)Applying grid search for optimization,and(iii)the categorization *** discriminant analysis(LDA)is used to categorize the data into eight labels(neutral,happy,sad,surprised,fear,disgust,angry,and contempt).Due to using LDA,the performance of categorization via SVM has been obviously *** search is used to find the optimal values for hyperparameters of SVM(C and gamma).The proposed optimized SVM algorithm has achieved an accuracy of 99%and a 98%F1 score.

With the increase of computing-intensive and delay-sensitive applications, mobile edge computing (MEC) technology has sprung up. It effectively satisfies the needs of user equipment (UE) for real-time computing resources by placing servers at the edge of the network. However, traditional MEC infrastructures are constrained by their fixed locations and emergency mobility needs. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) offer an effective solution with low cost, high mobility, and flexible deployment capabilities. In this paper, we propose a region-centric UAV-assisted MEC model, where the whole network space is divided into a set of hexagonal cells of equal area, and all UAVs in the same cell jointly process UE offloading data. Assume all UAVs are assumed to be equipped with independent MEC servers, and both UAVs and terrestrial UE follow independent homogeneous Poisson point process (PPP) distributions. Using the stochastic geometry analysis framework, we derive the successful uplink communication probability (SUCP) of uplink transmission for users. Finally, we compare the simulation results with the theoretical values to verify the model’s accuracy and evaluate the influence of key performance parameters on the network performance. © IFIP International Federation for information Processing 2025.

Jordan has a high and growing level of traffic accidents reaching 160,600) accidents in 2021, (11,241) of them had human injuries, (589) deaths, and (320) million JOD losses. Road traffic accidents are currently the 8th leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for about 1.35 million fatalities annually. Understanding the primary causes of these accidents and the circumstances in which they occur is essential if governments throughout the world are to put policies in place to limit the number of fatalities brought on by traffic accidents. This project has two objectives: (i) to learn more about Jordan's present road accident situation by performing an exploratory study on several road accident datasets, and (ii) to investigate the effectiveness of various machine-learning techniques in predicting the severity of road accidents in Jordan. The dataset entities were collected, collated, explored, and prepared for use in the model. To assess their predictive performance, five different classification algorithms were trained and tested. The findings of the present study demonstrate that the best algorithm was Logistic Regression, which had an accuracy of 98.1%. © 2023 IEEE.

The information technologies (IT) sector has been an area of study whose significance has grown exponentially, taking into account the effects of growing technology and the importance of technology in recent years, taking into account the effects of the pandemic. The widespread use of remote working and hybrid working models in these sectors reveals the importance of making more careful performance evaluations of employees. Human resources are essential in the upkeep, renewal, and development of existing software products, as well as the creation of new ones. Infrastructures and system algorithms created with human impact as the most important resource can be finished on time for project success and in a manner that addresses future needs. This study, it is aimed to rank and monitor the performances of software engineers and analysts working in the software development sector by measuring both their technical skills and personal competencies. The most important items accepted as evaluation criteria in the sector were weighted by experts in their fields using the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) method. It was ensured that these weighted evaluation items had been scored for the people to be measured and results were obtained. In order to evaluate the employees in the roles of analyst and software developer in terms of both talent and technical knowledge, the evaluation of the criteria of the experts with Fuzzy AHP and the weighting of the criteria are shown in tables in the study. Then, newly hired people and interns to be recruited were evaluated by their mentors, and a method that could be useful for tracking their training and development experiences was provided. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are essential for various applications, but their architecture makes them vulnerable to attacks. While traditional security methods like authentication and encryption offer some protection, they often fall short against specific node attacks. This paper introduces the Secure Energy Aware Routing (SEAR) strategy, which uses trust-based assessments to exclude malicious nodes while optimizing energy consumption. SEAR factors in node trust, hop time, and residual energy to ensure reliable data transmission through trustworthy nodes. MATLAB simulations on networks of varying sizes (100-500) compare SEAR with existing methods (EAD and EASER), demonstrating SEAR's superior performance. Results show significant improvements in packet delivery ratio (13-16%), network throughput (19-24 %), energy consumption (32-36%), packet loss (16-190/0), and end-to-end latency (21-26%), proving SEAR's effectiveness in enhancing WSN security, energy efficiency, and performance. © 2024 IEEE.
