Body fitness monitoring applications are using mobile sensors to identify human activities. Human activity identification is a challenging task because of the wide availability of human activities. This paper proposes a novel technique that extracts the discriminative dimensions for human activity identification. Particularly, a novel technique with convolutional neural networks (CNN) is used for catching dependency. A deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) consists of two different types of layers, convolutional and pooling are used. The depth of each filter increases from left to right in the network. Three activities like walking, running, remaining still are collected from smart mobile sensors. The axis like x, y, and z information was transferred with column vector magnitude information and utilised for studying or training CNN. Experimental results show that CNN-based method achieves 93.67% accuracy than the baseline random forest approach's 89.20%. Copyright © 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT (Conditional Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is an artificial intelligence technology that is fine-tuned using supervised machine learning and reinforcement learning techniques, allowing a computer to generate natural language conversation fully autonomously. ChatGPT is built on the transformer architecture and trained on millions of conversations from various sources. In this study, after reviewing the existing literature, we examine the applications, opportunities, and threats of ChatGPT in 10 main domains, providing detailed examples for the business and industry as well as education. We also conducted an experimental study, checking the effectiveness and comparing the performances of GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, and found that the latter performs significantly better. Despite its exceptional ability to generate natural-sounding responses, the authors believe that ChatGPT does not possess the same level of understanding, empathy, and creativity as a human and cannot fully replace them in most situations. © 2023 IEEE.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk assessment and prognosis in otherwise healthy people is an important part of disease management. Early detection and diagnosis of CVD, supported by the extensive health data on the condition already stored in hospital systems, has the ability to greatly improve disease outcomes. Clinical practice for the management of Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) stands to benefit greatly from the use of machine learning approaches. Patients and the healthcare system can save money thanks to these methods, which can be used to create evidence-based clinical guidelines and management algorithms. This will cut down on expensive and time-consuming clinical and laboratory examinations. This study suggests creating new deep learning algorithms that can automatically identify important variables and detect early-stage heart disease;these algorithms should be resilient, effective, efficient, and unique in order to improve early anticipation and interference for CVDs. An F1-score of around 89% is produced by the suggested Catboost model. Hence, it outperformed numerous other state-of-the-art methods by maximizing classification efficiency with better correctness and precision. © 2024 IEEE.

The legal judgement prediction (LJP) of judicial texts represents a multi-label text classification (MLTC) problem, which in turn involves three distinct tasks: the prediction of charges, legal articles, and terms of penalty. Nevertheless, extant multi-label text classification models tend to eschew the consideration of multiple correlations and semantic information between labels when predicting judicial texts, which may result in the loss of pertinent information. Furthermore, these models do not take full advantage of the local and overall information of the labels in the process of selecting appropriate labels for the text using the multi-head attention mechanism. To address these issues, we propose a new model, BGFLFF, which explores label correlation and semantics among the three tasks by employing Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) and multi-head attention mechanisms. In particular, we propose a Bi-Graph Fusion GCN (BGF-GCN), which fuses the co-occurrence matrix of labels with the cosine similarity matrix, thereby fully exploiting the multiple correlations between labels. Furthermore, prior to embedding the tags, the interpretations of the labels are obtained via Google in order to enhance the semantic information between the labels. To further reinforce the interconnections between labels and text and more effectively comprehend the interrelationships between the three tasks, we propose a Multi-Head Label Feature Fusion Attentional Mechanism (MH-LFFAtt), which assigns distinct weights to the pertinent label information in the text by fusing the local and overall features of the labels. The experimental results demonstrate that the F1 score exhibits an improvement of up to 2. 2 8 % and a minimum of 1. 2 9 % across the various tasks of the two datasets. This evidence substantiates the assertion that BGFLFF outperforms the existing baseline model. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper,an Observation Points Classifier Ensemble(OPCE)algorithm is proposed to deal with High-Dimensional Imbalanced Classification(HDIC)problems based on data processed using the Multi-Dimensional Scaling(MDS)feature extraction ***,dimensionality of the original imbalanced data is reduced using MDS so that distances between any two different samples are preserved as well as ***,a novel OPCE algorithm is applied to classify imbalanced samples by placing optimised observation points in a low-dimensional data ***,optimization of the observation point mappings is carried out to obtain a reliable assessment of the unknown *** experiments have been conducted to evaluate the feasibility,rationality,and effectiveness of the proposed OPCE algorithm using seven benchmark HDIC data *** results show that(1)the OPCE algorithm can be trained faster on low-dimensional imbalanced data than on high-dimensional data;(2)the OPCE algorithm can correctly identify samples as the number of optimised observation points is increased;and(3)statistical analysis reveals that OPCE yields better HDIC performances on the selected data sets in comparison with eight other HDIC *** demonstrates that OPCE is a viable algorithm to deal with HDIC problems.

This study presents a dipper-throated-based ant colony optimization (DTACO) with the Seasonal Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average with eXogenous factor (SARIMAX) model (DTACO+SARIMAX) to forecast monkeypox cases. The work optimizes the SARIMAX model using grid search cross-validation and fine-tunes its hyperparameters using DTACO to improve prediction accuracy. The suggested model's consistency and accuracy are considerable compared to previous studies. Comparisons with state-of-the-art models validate the proposed model's predictions. DTACO+SARIMAX can be used to control disease and monitor monkeypox. Healthcare organizations and governments can better manage and track the pandemic's course by offering accurate predictions, reducing public panic, and enabling effective pandemic planning. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests are conducted on the proposed DTACO-SARIMAX model and compared models. © 2023 IEEE.

The convergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is significantly transforming the landscape of future networking. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technological paradigm that encompasses embedded systems, wireless sensors, and automation, facilitating the integration of various applications ranging from smart homes to wearable devices. In addition, the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) amplifies this influence by providing data-driven analytics, optimising processes, and presenting novel opportunities for growth. Nevertheless, the widespread adoption of devices within Internet of Things (IoT) networks gives rise to apprehensions regarding increased energy consumption. In order to ensure the longevity of network operations, it is imperative to employ energy-efficient protocols for sensor nodes that possess limited power resources. One example of a protocol that demonstrates this concept is the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) protocol. This protocol effectively divides networks into clusters and dynamically adjusts the cluster heads to optimise the transmission of data to the base stations. Our study enhances the LEACH protocol by incorporating digital twin simulation, thereby enhancing the efficiency of IoT systems. Virtual network models and AI analytics are employed to assess energy consumption and performance. Cache nodes play a crucial role within this framework as they collect data from cluster heads in order to transmit it to the base station. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and simulation techniques, we are able to improve the energy efficiency and reliability of the Internet of Things (IoT) systems. The findings indicate a significant reduction of 83% in non-functioning nodes and a notable increase of 1.66 times in energy levels of nodes compared to conventional approaches. Halide perovskites exhibit high performance in all sorts of optoelectronic and photonic areas, suggesting their huge potential in integrated photonic devices. However, until now, all optical logic gates based on perovskites are still rarely explored, hindering the development of all-optical networks and computing. Herein, a new concept of all-optical logic gates is proposed based on the modulation of photoluminescence(PL) from perovskite nanocrystals(PNCs). A hierarchical photonic crystal(Hie PhC) is developed by self-assembling polystyrene(PS) and SiO2nanoparticles, which exhibit a higher PL enhancement than that of a monolayer PhC. Moreover, the light-controlled PL is realized by taking advantage of the high thermal response of the PL from PNCs/Hie PhC on polyethylene(PE) substrate, assisted by a graphene layer for light-heat conversion. Consequently, optical diode and triode are achieved based on the modulated PL, which exhibit contrast ratios(CR) of 24.7 and 74.0 dB, ***-optical logic gates, including “AND”, “OR” and “NOT”, are realized based on the optical diode and triode.
