In the current social media landscape, cyberbullying and online harassment remain pressing issues. Therefore, we planned a cyberbullying detection system for social media platforms. It can protect online communities from toxic behaviors and make a global impact by fostering a safer and more constructive online environment. We are mainly focused on developing an improved technique to detect bot profiles on social media, developing a mechanism to detect abusive content and sarcasm, developing a mechanism to detect defamatory comments on social media, and developing an effective method for detecting offensive and abusive content in image-format reviews on social media using machine learning algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

Large language models (LLMs) have garnered significant attention lately, and one particular implementation that has captivated users is ChatGPT, a first-of-its kind innovation that sparks intense debates among professionals regarding its ethical boundaries, especially after it was released for public use. Some of the debates are ongoing, with several people getting more used to this tool and some losing touch with several ethical concerns. Thus, it is crucial to explore the early professional’s perspectives surrounding ChatGPT to comprehend its potential impact on the educational sector and, in particular, society in general. This research aims to address this knowledge gap by employing data mining techniques on LinkedIn to analyze ChatGPT-related discussions and provide a comprehensive textual examination. The dataset for this investigation consists of 166 records written in English by LinkedIn users discussing ChatGPT in its early stage. The study utilized VOSviewer software to clean, analyze, mine, and visualize the data. Among the sample, it was observed that 49% of the users are PhD holders, predominantly with experience in scientific research and data science fields. Hence, the findings reveal that issues such as plagiarism, references, citations, manuscripts, papers, and literature reviews stand out as the major concerns. These results suggest that while ChatGPT can contribute to academic progress by fostering new knowledge, thoughts, and ideas, it can also facilitate academic misconduct, including plagiarism and inaccurate information dissemination. Therefore, this paper also provides discussions on the implications and ethical issues of ChatGPT. In particular, it is imperative to establish clear ethical boundaries and guidelines for the appropriate use of LLMs in academic settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

In the era of big data,there is an urgent need to establish data trading markets for effectively releasing the tremendous value of the drastically explosive *** security and data pricing,however,are still widely regarded as major challenges in this respect,which motivate this research on the novel multi-blockchain based framework for data trading markets and their associated pricing *** this context,data recording and trading are conducted separately within two separate blockchains:the data blockchain(DChain) and the value blockchain(VChain).This enables the establishment of two-layer data trading markets to manage initial data trading in the primary market and subsequent data resales in the secondary ***,pricing mechanisms are then proposed to protect these markets against strategic trading behaviors and balance the payoffs of both suppliers and ***,in regular data trading on VChain-S2D,two auction models are employed according to the demand scale,for dealing with users’ strategic *** incentive-compatible Vickrey-Clarke-Groves(VCG)model is deployed to the low-demand trading scenario,while the nearly incentive-compatible monopolistic price(MP) model is utilized for the high-demand trading *** temporary data trading on VChain-D2S,a reverse auction mechanism namely two-stage obscure selection(TSOS) is designed to regulate both suppliers’ quoting and users’ valuation ***,experiments are carried out to demonstrate the strength of this research in enhancing data security and trading efficiency.

Recognition of human activity is one of the most exciting aspects of time-series classification,with substantial practical and theoretical *** evidence indicates that activity recognition from wearable sensors is an effective technique for tracking elderly adults and children in indoor and outdoor ***,researchers have demon-strated considerable passion for developing cutting-edge deep learning sys-tems capable of exploiting unprocessed sensor data from wearable devices and generating practical decision assistance in many *** study provides a deep learning-based approach for recognizing indoor and outdoor movement utilizing an enhanced deep pyramidal residual model called Sen-PyramidNet and motion information from wearable sensors(accelerometer and gyroscope).The suggested technique develops a residual unit based on a deep pyramidal residual network and introduces the concept of a pyramidal residual unit to increase detection *** proposed deep learning-based model was assessed using the publicly available 19Nonsens dataset,which gathered motion signals from various indoor and outdoor activities,including practicing various body *** experimental findings demon-strate that the proposed approach can efficiently reuse characteristics and has achieved an identification accuracy of 96.37%for indoor and 97.25%for outdoor ***,comparison experiments demonstrate that the SenPyramidNet surpasses other cutting-edge deep learning models in terms of accuracy and ***,this study explores the influence of several wearable sensors on indoor and outdoor action recognition ability.

High-quality genome-scale metabolic models(GEMs)could play critical roles on rational design of microbial cell factories in the classical Design-Build-Test-Learn cycle of synthetic biology *** of the constant establishment and update of GEMs for model microorganisms such as Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae,high-quality GEMs for non-model industrial microorganisms are still *** mobilis *** ZM4 is a non-model ethanologenic microorganism with many excellent industrial characteristics that has been developing as microbial cell factories for biochemical *** five GEMs of *** have been constructed,these models are either generating ATP incorrectly,or lacking information of plasmid genes,or not providing standard format *** this study,a high-quality GEM iZM516 of *** ZM4 was *** information from the improved genome annotation,literature,datasets of Biolog Phenotype Microarray studies,and recently updated Gene-Protein-Reaction information was combined for the curation of ***,516 genes,1389 reactions,1437 metabolites,and 3 cell compartments are included in iZM516,which also had the highest MEMOTE score of 91%among all published GEMs of *** growth was then predicted by iZM516,which had 79.4%agreement with the experimental results of the substrate *** addition,the potential endogenous succinate synthesis pathway of *** ZM4 was proposed through simulation and analysis using ***,metabolic engineering strategies to produce succinate and 1,4-butanediol(1,4-BDO)were designed and then simulated under anaerobic condition using *** results indicated that 1.68 mol/mol succinate and 1.07 mol/mol 1,4-BDO can be achieved through combinational metabolic engineering strategies,which was comparable to that of the model species *** study thus not only established a high-quality GEM iZM516 to help understand and design microbial cell fac

An Attention-Based Deep Network for Plant Disease Classification

Plant disease classification using machine learning in a real agricultural field environment is a difficult task. Often, an automated plant disease diagnosis method might fail to capture and interpret discriminatory information due to small variations among leaf sub-categories. Yet, modern Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have achieved decent success in discriminating various plant diseases using leave images. A few existing methods have applied additional pre-processing modules or sub-networks to tackle this challenge. Sometimes, the feature maps ignore partial information for holistic description by part-mining. A deep CNN that emphasizes integration of partial descriptiveness of leaf regions is proposed in this work. The efficacious attention mechanism is integrated with high-level feature map of a base CNN for enhancing feature representation. The proposed method focuses on important diseased areas in leaves, and employs an attention weighting scheme for utilizing useful neighborhood information. The proposed Attention-based network for Plant Disease Classification (APDC) method has achieved state-of-the-art performances on four public plant datasets containing visual/thermal images. The best top-1 accuracies attained by the proposed APDC are: PlantPathology 97.74%, PaddyCrop 99.62%, PaddyDoctor 99.65%, and PlantVillage 99.97%. The controller area network (CAN) protocol is widely used in vehicle networks. However, it lacks essential security features like confidentiality and authentication. To enhance vehicle security, researchers have proposed and developed various methods, including intrusion detection systems (IDSs). These IDSs play a key role in early detection of potential cyberattacks, safeguarding vehicles, passengers, and road users. Machine learning (ML) algorithms are increasingly employed in CAN IDSs but they face challenges due to diverse experimental settings, datasets, and metrics used for evaluation, impeding progress and comparison of different approaches in this field. This study aims to benchmark well-recognized ML algorithms, including gaussianNB, k-nearest neighbors (KNN), decision trees (DT), random forest (RF), long short-term memory (LSTM), and convolutional neural networks (CNN), for intrusion detection in CAN. We evaluate the performance of these algorithms using seven evaluation metrics on the real ORNL automotive dynamometer (ROAD) dataset, a state-of-the-art benchmark in this field. Experimental results demonstrate that KNN, DT, RF, LSTM, and CNN can detect various types of attacks (e.g., Fuzzing, targeted ID, and masquerade attacks) with high accuracy. However, the computational and time efficiency of tree-based classifiers, namely DT and RF, makes them a potentially appealing choice for real-time intrusion detection tasks in CAN. © 2023 IEEE.

Smart city-aspiring urban areas should have a number of necessary elements in place to achieve the intended *** controlling and management of traffic conditions,increased safety and surveillance,and enhanced incident avoidance and management should be top priorities in smart city *** the same time,Vehicle License Plate Number Recognition(VLPNR)has become a hot research topic,owing to several real-time applications like automated toll fee processing,traffic law enforcement,private space access control,and road traffic *** VLPNR is a computer vision-based technique which is employed in the recognition of automobiles based on vehicle number *** current research paper presents an effective Deep Learning(DL)-based VLPNR called DLVLPNR model to identify and recognize the alphanumeric characters present in license *** proposed model involves two main stages namely,license plate detection and Tesseract-based character *** detection of alphanumeric characters present in license plate takes place with the help of fast RCNN with Inception V2 ***,the characters in the detected number plate are extracted using Tesseract Optical Character Recognition(OCR)*** performance of DL-VLPNR model was tested in this paper using two benchmark databases,and the experimental outcome established the superior performance of the model compared to other methods.
