Citrus Limon L. (Lemon) is a type of fruit that is currently widely consumed, because it contains abundant vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. This fruit have high potential in the agribusiness sector and is widely cultivated by traditional farmers. However, during harvest time, traditional farmers generally still use manual methods using the human eye in distinguishing the maturity level of lemons which is less efficient because it has a low accuracy. Digital image processing is one solution to this problem. In the research on the classification of lemon maturity levels using digital image processing with the feature extraction method of the Mean RGB, HSV, and LBP methods and the K-Nearest Neighbor classification algorithm in this study, a total of 120 lemon images were used which were divided into 80 training image data and 40 image data. testing. The results of model performance measurements in the form of the highest accuracy level in the Mean RGB method of 100%, the highest accuracy in the HSV method of 98%, and the highest accuracy in the LBP method of 82.5%. © 2023 IEEE.

Building a Stereo and Wide-View Hybrid RGB/FIR Imaging System for Autonomous Vehicle

In this work, a novel paradigm is proposed to build a hybrid RGB/FIR camera, which outputs pixel-wisely aligned and temporally synchronized RGB and FIR frames simultaneously. Compared with the existing schemes, we innovate in several ways to make it compact, practical, and extendable for real-world applications. First, we propose a new structure layout design of the hybrid camera, and we also design a removable adjuster to detach the hybrid camera from the base platform. For RGB and FIR image registration, we have achieved a pixel-wise spatial registration of the FIR and RGB frames by a two-step alignment, where we propose a ghost-effect removal scheme to remove the ghost effect from the rolling-shutter-based FIR camera. Finally, multiple hybrid cameras are extended to a hybrid camera array, through which we can obtain wide-view spatially aligned FIR, RGB and disparity images simultaneously. The experimental results demonstrate the accuracy of the hybrid camera and the effectiveness of the designed stereo wide-view hybrid camera system. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Blockchain technology, due to its decentralized, traceable, and tamper-resistant characteristics, has been applied in a wide range of collaborative computing scenarios, including smart grid, industrial production, and smart cities. Consensus algorithm, as the key blockchain technology, plays a decisive role in terms of performance, security, and scalability, ensuring that system nodes reach consensus on transaction data. However, with the increase of user nodes and the diversity of application scenarios, existing consensus algorithms face some performance and security challenges. To overcome these challenges, this article proposes a novel blockchain consensus mechanism, namely the Reputation-Aware Randomization Consensus Algorithm (RRCA). The proposed mechanism first constructs a dynamic reputation evaluation model to divide nodes into ordinary ones and candidate ones. Secondly, a selection model is constructed for candidate nodes to select consensus nodes, which run the consensus algorithm. Finally, a random selection mechanism for the leader node of the proposed consensus algorithm is constructed to ensure the unpredictability and reduce the probability of the leader node being subjected to malicious attacks. Theoretical analysis and experimental results indicate that the RRCA can significantly reduce consensus latency and increase the unpredictability of the leader node, which improves the performance and security of blockchain systems.

EFS-XGBoost: A robust framework for precision classification of COVID-19 cases

The emergence of the novel COVID-19 virus has had a profound impact on global healthcare systems and economies, underscoring the imperative need for the development of precise and expeditious diagnostic tools. Machine learning techniques have emerged as a promising avenue for augmenting the capabilities of medical professionals in disease diagnosis and classification. In this research, the EFS-XGBoost classifier model, a robust approach for the classification of patients afflicted with COVID-19 is proposed. The key innovation in the proposed model lies in the Ensemble-based Feature Selection (EFS) strategy, which enables the judicious selection of relevant features from the expansive COVID-19 dataset. Subsequently, the power of the eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) classifier to make precise distinctions among COVID-19-infected patients is *** EFS methodology amalgamates five distinctive feature selection techniques, encompassing correlation-based, chi-squared, information gain, symmetric uncertainty-based, and gain ratio approaches. To evaluate the effectiveness of the model, comprehensive experiments were conducted using a COVID-19 dataset procured from Kaggle, and the implementation was executed using Python programming. The performance of the proposed EFS-XGBoost model was gauged by employing well-established metrics that measure classification accuracy, including accuracy, precision, recall, and the F1-Score. Furthermore, an in-depth comparative analysis was conducted by considering the performance of the XGBoost classifier under various scenarios: employing all features within the dataset without any feature selection technique, and utilizing each feature selection technique in isolation. The meticulous evaluation reveals that the proposed EFS-XGBoost model excels in performance, achieving an astounding accuracy rate of 99.8%, surpassing the efficacy of other prevailing feature selection techniques. Due to the prosperity of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) ecosystems and the rise of Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) groups, blockchain as the underlying revolutionary theory has been attracted a lot of attention. How to achieve cryptographically unpredictable randomness in the publicly verifiable blockchain network, one of the typical collaborative systems, is a critical issue. Since Ethereum finished merging its mainnet with beacon chain, the research on randomness beacon in the blockchain field has become a hotspot. Most of the current distributed randomness beacon schemes are interactive protocols. They are constructed with Public Verifiable Secret Sharing (PVSS), leading high communication complexity O(n 2 ). In contrast, randomness beacons constructed based on Verifiable Delay Functions (VDFs) rely on the sequentiality and uniqueness of VDFs could solve this problem. This paper proposes a blockchain non-interactive randomness beacon protocol: InfinityRand (IR), which decoupled from the underlying message distribution mechanism. It could generate publicly verifiable, strongly bias-resistant, and fair random numbers. In designing InfinityRand, we also design a new trapdoor VDF scheme, which is constructed using negative wrapped convolution (NWC) based number theoretic transform (NTT) on polynomial ring. We conduct security analysis and evaluation experiments. Experiments show that InfinityRand could provide well unpredictability, leader election fairness and scalability guarantees.

We present GauKGT5, a sequence-to-sequence model proposed for knowledge graph completion (KGC). Our research extends the KGT5 model, a recent sequence-to-sequence link prediction (LP) model. GauKGT5 takes advantage of textual characteristics inherent in the knowledge graph, exhibiting a small model size. However, KGT5's proficiency in link prediction necessitates the ensemble with a knowledge graph embedding model, which itself poses challenges due to its substantial size and expense. By integrating the Gated Attention Unit into the KGT5 model and directly applying it to the encoder-decoder structure, we achieve improved contextual dependency capturing within the sequence, resulting in enhanced prediction accuracy, accelerated training speed, and enhanced computational efficiency. At the same time, we introduce parallel computing as a means to enhance the efficiency of model training and inference within the XPU distributed computing environment. © 2023 IEEE.

Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs)provide intelligent navigation and efficient route management,resulting in time savings and cost reductions in the transportation ***,the exchange of beacons and messages over public channels among vehicles and roadside units renders these networks vulnerable to numerous attacks and privacy *** address these challenges,several privacy and security preservation protocols based on blockchain and public key cryptography have been proposed ***,most of these schemes are limited by a long execution time and massive communication costs,which make them inefficient for on-board units(OBUs).Additionally,some of them are still susceptible to many *** such,this study presents a novel protocol based on the fusion of elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)and bilinear pairing(BP)*** formal security analysis is accomplished using the Burrows–Abadi–Needham(BAN)logic,demonstrating that our scheme is verifiably *** proposed scheme’s informal security assessment also shows that it provides salient security features,such as non-repudiation,anonymity,and ***,the scheme is shown to be resilient against attacks,such as packet replays,forgeries,message falsifications,and *** the performance perspective,this protocol yields a 37.88%reduction in communication overheads and a 44.44%improvement in the supported security ***,the proposed scheme can be deployed in VANETs to provide robust security at low overheads.

In this study, we propose and demonstrate an all-fiber orbital-angular-momentum (OAM) mode encoding system, where through helical fiber gratings (HFGs), binary symbols are encoded to or decoded from two OAM modes with topological charges (TCs) of ?1 and +1, respectively. We experimentally validate that the OAM mode generated by a clockwise-helix HFG (cHFG) can be converted back into fundamental mode by using an HFG with a helix orientation opposite to that of the c HFG, i.e., ccHFG.
