We developed an information system using an object-oriented programming language and a distributed database (DDB) consisting of multiple interconnected databases across a computer network, managed by a distributed database management system (DDBMS) for easy access. An intelligent system was designed to assess the difficulty level of preliminary exams and select top-performing advanced students using a Neutrosophic Deep Learning Model. The dataset was randomly split into training (80%) and testing (20%) sets, and the model, trained with the Adam optimizer at a 0.001 learning rate over 50 epochs, incorporated early stopping based on validation loss. This system, implemented at a traditional Egyptian university, achieved a 95% accuracy in predicting student dropout. Student behavior, influenced by personal, environmental, and academic factors, is often evaluated subjectively, leading to inconsistent results. Traditional machine learning approaches struggle with the inherent uncertainty in behavioral data. To address this, we combined neutrosophic theory—a mathematical framework that accounts for truth, falsity, and indeterminacy—with deep learning, which excels at learning complex data relationships, to predict student outcomes such as dropout rates. Evaluating the model on student data, including attendance and grades, showed superior accuracy, achieving a determination coefficient of 0.95, demonstrating the approach's potential for identifying at-risk students and enabling targeted interventions. © 2025, University of New Mexico. Numerical and spatiotemporal features fusion for video summarization

In this paper, we propose a numerical spatiotemporal approach for video summarization. The current solutions leverage deep learning techniques to tackle this task. However, existing methods do not employ the video shots’ length data in their networks. We first introduce a new ground truth labelling for video summarization. This ground truth tackles multiple users’ annotations and is inclusive of video shot length information. We then propose a novel network architecture Numerical SpatioTemporal Fusion Net, NSTFNet. The proposed architecture leverages the temporal modelling ability of the self-attention mechanism to model video’s vision data to be fused with structured numerical features of video shots. We evaluate our results on TVSum and SumMe datasets. Experimental results show that the proposed model outperforms state-of-the-art performance on the SumMe dataset with 51.29% and 54.42% f-scores on the canonical and augmented configurations, demonstrating the effectiveness of our proposed model compared to state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

VGIS (Virtual Geographic information System) Platform is a unified oilfield operations management platform based on MaaS (Management as a Service) that integrates advanced technologies such as AIoT (Artificial Intelligence & Internet of Things), GIS (Geographic information System), Digital Twin, and AR (Augmented Reality)/ VR (Virtual Reality). The VGIS platform connects, collects, integrates, analyses, and acts on disparate data sources to provide the oilfield with a centralized view to help make informed decisions fast, bring operational visibility across all assets to improve safety and operational efficiency, reduce costs and improve margins, provide comprehensive analytics and decision support, increase business agility, and reduce management complexity. This is a case study of the application of the VGIS platform Majnoon oilfield, Basrah, Iraq. VGIS digital transformation, production process, and KPIs (Key performance indicators) are highly managed taking oilfield management to a higher level globally, in this study, the objective is to address and resolve the issue of high costs associated with using cloud services by utilising a local Data Center (a large group of networked computer servers typically used by organizations for the remote storage, processing, or distribution of large amounts of data). This approach involves directly uploading 3D maps to ensure faster service on the intranet, eliminating the need to pay for cloud *** aims providing a platform for researching and implementing monitoring and controlling processes in a more convenient and remote manner. The vGIS platform has emerged as a crucial instrument in the realm of disaster response and crisis management. This technology enables responders to rapidly evaluate, analyse, and respond to crucial information in real-time. Transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative games

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

The enhancement of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) is required to ensure protection of network resources and services. This is a hot research topic, especially in the presence of advanced intrusions and attacks. This paper provides a comparison between Distributed Cumulative Histogram (DCH) as a Feature Selection (FS) technique, information Gain Ratio (IGR) FS and wrapper-based FS in terms of accuracy and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). The utilization of DCH of the traffic instances in normal and attack cases allows us to compare the traffic charts. We can observe the difference between effective features and less effective ones. We verify the feasibility of using DCH as an FS technique in the field of anomaly detection with just six selected features giving more accurate results with most classifiers compared to the IGR and wrapper-based FS. We applied our experiments on the modern UNSW dataset with the WEKA simulation platform that contains a group of classification, feature reduction and selection techniques. © The Author(s) 2024.

A Weakly-Supervised Crowd Density Estimation Method Based on Two-Stage Linear Feature Calibration

In a crowd density estimation dataset,the annotation of crowd locations is an extremely laborious task,and they are not taken into the evaluation *** this paper,we aim to reduce the annotation cost of crowd datasets,and propose a crowd density estimation method based on weakly-supervised learning,in the absence of crowd position supervision information,which directly reduces the number of crowds by using the number of pedestrians in the image as the supervised *** this purpose,we design a new training method,which exploits the correlation between global and local image features by incremental learning to train the ***,we design a parent-child network(PC-Net)focusing on the global and local image respectively,and propose a linear feature calibration structure to train the PC-Net simultaneously,and the child network learns feature transfer factors and feature bias weights,and uses the transfer factors and bias weights to linearly feature calibrate the features extracted from the Parent network,to improve the convergence of the network by using local features hidden in the crowd *** addition,we use the pyramid vision transformer as the backbone of the PC-Net to extract crowd features at different levels,and design a global-local feature loss function(L2).We combine it with a crowd counting loss(LC)to enhance the sensitivity of the network to crowd features during the training process,which effectively improves the accuracy of crowd density *** experimental results show that the PC-Net significantly reduces the gap between fullysupervised and weakly-supervised crowd density estimation,and outperforms the comparison methods on five datasets of Shanghai Tech Part A,ShanghaiTech Part B,UCF_CC_50,UCF_QNRF and JHU-CROWD++.
