Shear Let Transform Residual Learning Approach for Single-Image Super-Resolution

Super-resolution techniques are employed to enhance image resolution by reconstructing high-resolution images from one or more low-resolution ***-resolution is of paramount importance in the context of remote sensing,satellite,aerial,security and surveillance ***-resolution remote sensing imagery is essential for surveillance and security purposes,enabling authorities to monitor remote or sensitive areas with greater *** study introduces a single-image super-resolution approach for remote sensing images,utilizing deep shearlet residual learning in the shearlet transform domain,and incorporating the Enhanced Deep Super-Resolution network(EDSR).Unlike conventional approaches that estimate residuals between high and low-resolution images,the proposed approach calculates the shearlet coefficients for the desired high-resolution image using the provided low-resolution image instead of estimating a residual image between the high-and low-resolution *** shearlet transform is chosen for its excellent sparse approximation ***,remote sensing images are transformed into the shearlet domain,which divides the input image into low and high *** shearlet coefficients are fed into the EDSR *** high-resolution image is subsequently reconstructed using the inverse shearlet *** incorporation of the EDSR network enhances training stability,leading to improved generated *** experimental results from the Deep Shearlet Residual Learning approach demonstrate its superior performance in remote sensing image recovery,effectively restoring both global topology and local edge detail information,thereby enhancing image *** to other networks,our proposed approach outperforms the state-of-the-art in terms of image quality,achieving an average peak signal-to-noise ratio of 35 and a structural similarity index measure of approximately 0.9.

Brain tumors are very dangerous as they cause death. A lot of people die every year because of brain tumors. Therefore, accurate classification and detection in the early stages can help in recovery. Various deep learning techniques have achieved good results in brain tumor classification. The traditional deep learning methods and training the neural network from scratch are time-consuming and can last for weeks of training. Therefore, in this work, we proposed an ensemble approach depending on transfer learning that utilizes pre-trained models of DenseNet121 and InceptionV3 to detect three forms of brain tumors: meningioma, glioma, and pituitary. While developing the ensemble model, some changes were made to the architecture of pre-trained models by replacing their classifiers (fully connected and SoftMax layers) with a new classifier to adopt the recent task. In addition, gradient-weighted class activation maps (Grad-CAM) are an explainable model to verify results and achieve high confidence. The suggested model was validated using a publicly available dataset and achieved 99.02% accuracy, 98.75% precision, 98.98% recall, and a 98.86% F1 score. The suggested approach outperformed others in detecting and classifying brain tumor MRI data, and verifying results using the explainable model achieved a high degree of trust. © The Author(s) 2024.

Specifically targeting Yemeni universities, the focus lies on their potential to enter these rankings and enhance their positions such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Ranking (QS), Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), Webometrics Ranking, Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking, and SCImago Institutions (SIR) Rankings. Its objective is to encourage Yemeni universities to prioritize the criteria outlined in these rankings and view them as a means to access other international rankings. The research tackles the challenge of comprehending the criteria and application process required for Yemeni universities to participate in these rankings, as well as the rankings they have achieved. The study underscores the importance of this research by providing Yemeni university administrators with valuable insights into the criteria used for international rankings and the rankings obtained by Yemeni universities. This understanding can facilitate efforts to enhance the quality of higher education within these institutions. The findings of the study reveal that there are two Yemeni universities listed in the QS. The University of Science and technology, ranks 151-170, while Thamar University, ranks 171-200 for 2023. While in 2024, the University of Science and technology ranked first locally and the University of Aden ranked second. This paper investigates the participation of Yemeni universities in global ranking systems such as ARWU, THE, QS, and SIR, with the aim of enhancing their international standing. It highlights the challenges and opportunities for Yemeni universities to meet ranking criteria, offering insights that can help improve the quality of higher education. © 2024 IEEE.

An Experimental Study on Dynamic Lifelong Learning with GPT for Mitigating Catastrophic Forgetting in Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis

GPT is widely recognized as one of the most versatile and powerful large language models, excelling across diverse domains. However, its significant computational demands often render it economically unfeasible for individuals and small businesses, underscoring the need for efficient, domain-specific alternatives. In Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA), existing models are typically optimized for single domains, facing challenges in performing effectively across multiple domains. A key issue, known as "catastrophic forgetting,"arises when models trained on one domain lose previously learned knowledge upon exposure to new domain data. This leads to two significant problems: limited cross-domain generalization and difficulty in retaining prior knowledge while learning domain-specific information. To address these challenges, we introduce the Dynamic Lifelong Learning Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis GPT (DllaGPT), a model designed to handle multiple domains while mitigating catastrophic forgetting. Leveraging datasets from four ABSA domains - Laptops, Restaurants, Tweets, and Finance - this study fine-tunes a pretrained GPT model from HuggingFace sequentially across domains. DllaGPT employs a mechanism to retain real data from earlier domains during new domain training, effectively preserving prior knowledge. Experimental results highlight that DllaGPT achieves an average accuracy of 0.85 and a Backward Transfer (BWT) score of -0.09 across the four domains, showcasing its high accuracy and robust lifelong learning capabilities. © 2013 IEEE.

A Systematic Literature Review on the Security Attacks and Countermeasures Used in Graphical Passwords

This systematic literature review delves into the dynamic realm of graphical passwords, focusing on the myriad security attacks they face and the diverse countermeasures devised to mitigate these threats. The core objective of this paper is to identify existing security threats to graphical password schemes and the corresponding countermeasures developed to mitigate these attacks. The study process begins by identifying the usable databases and search engines to identify all the relevant resources. The inclusion and exclusion criteria were carefully selected to prioritize the study, focusing mostly on attacks and countermeasures related to graphical password schemes between 2009 and 2023. After thorough identification and selection progress, 59 studies met all the criteria. Among these studies, 47 mentioned shoulder surfing as a threat to graphical password schemes, while 20 discussed brute force attacks. Additionally, there were 21 papers on dictionary attacks, 13 on smudge attacks, spyware attacks, and social engineering, and 19 that discussed guessing attacks as threats to graphical password schemes. Furthermore, the papers identified several other attacks, including frequency of occurrence analysis attacks, video recording, eavesdropping, computer vision, sonar, and image gallery attacks, with the corresponding numbers of papers being 9, 17, 5, 2, 2, and 1, respectively. The results also highlight the countermeasures proposed in the study papers to mitigate the aforementioned attacks. Among the various countermeasures identified, most revolve around randomization, obfuscation, and password space complexity as the most commonly used techniques for enhancing the security of graphical password schemes. © 2013 IEEE.

Advancing Bankruptcy Forecasting With Hybrid Machine Learning Techniques: Insights From an Unbalanced Polish Dataset

The challenge of bankruptcy prediction, critical for averting financial sector losses, is amplified by the prevalence of imbalanced datasets, which often skew prediction models. Addressing this, our study introduces the innovative hybrid model XGBoost+ANN, designed to leverage the strengths of both ensemble learning and artificial neural networks. This model integrates a comprehensive set of features with parameters optimized through genetic algorithms, eschewing traditional feature selection approaches. Our research focuses on an unbalanced dataset of Polish companies and reveals that the XGBoost+ANN model, in particular, exhibits outstanding performance. Optimized using genetic algorithms and without feature selection, this model achieved the highest AUC (0.958), sensitivity (0.752), and accuracy (0.983) scores, surpassing other models in our study. This remarkable outperformance, along with the robust results, marks a substantial advancement in the field of bankruptcy prediction. It underscores the efficacy of our approach in addressing the persistent challenge of data imbalance, offering a more reliable and accurate solution for financial risk assessment. © 2013 IEEE.

5G wireless communication offers higher channel capacity, high data rate, sufficient bandwidth, enhanced coverage, and reliable link as compared to the previous generation mobile networks. Also, 5G becomes more relevant with the recent launches of low earth orbit satellites by various ventures like starlink, amazon, one web, etc. As these satellites have heights up to the range from 300 km to 1000 km, the free space path loss decreases drastically which in turn improves the signal reliability and efficient communication at dead spots. With these advancements, antenna researchers have the freedom to design compact, easy to manufacture, with adequate gain user equipment terminal antennas which can be easily integrated in the modern passenger car body. This paper will focus on the recent development in the design considerations of the compact antenna design at sub-6 GHz (n78 frequency band) and mm wave (n278 frequency band) according to 3gpp standards. This manuscript also discusses various design specifications like selection of material for antennas, design complexity, feeding methods, fabrication and measurement challenges and performance parameters which include reflection coefficient, gain, polarization, axial ratio, cross polarization discrimination, radiation efficiency, radiation pattern shape, etc. The proposed antenna design considerations will facilitate the possible integration into the various parts of the car body according to the recent vehicular applications for uninterrupted communication. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. This study proposes a method for calculating personality changes that occur when updating interactive AI characters generated on large language models (LLMs). With the popularization of content distribution services using AI characters such as games, character backgrounds and content story are often getting updated. During such updates, the AI character's personality may change unintentionally or may not change as intended, so that the consistency of the scenario in the content may be lost. To address these issues, the proposed method not only conducts a personality diagnosis on the AI character, but also quantitatively measures the degree of personality change that has occurred for each personality facet when updating the AI character to detect unintended personality changes. In this study, we evaluate the feasibility of the proposed method through experiments using a large language model and a personality diagnostic test. © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid development of Internet of Things(IoT)technology has led to a significant increase in the computational task load of Terminal Devices(TDs).TDs reduce response latency and energy consumption with the support of task-offloading in Multi-access Edge Computing(MEC).However,existing task-offloading optimization methods typically assume that MEC’s computing resources are unlimited,and there is a lack of research on the optimization of task-offloading when MEC resources are *** addition,existing solutions only decide whether to accept the offloaded task request based on the single decision result of the current time slot,but lack support for multiple retry in subsequent time *** is resulting in TD missing potential offloading opportunities in the *** fill this gap,we propose a Two-Stage Offloading Decision-making Framework(TSODF)with request holding and dynamic *** Short-Term Memory(LSTM)-based task-offloading request prediction and MEC resource release estimation are integrated to infer the probability of a request being accepted in the subsequent time *** framework learns optimized decision-making experiences continuously to increase the success rate of task offloading based on deep learning *** results show that TSODF reduces total TD’s energy consumption and delay for task execution and improves task offloading rate and system resource utilization compared to the benchmark method.

Various organizations store data online rather than on physical *** the number of user’s data stored in cloud servers increases,the attack rate to access data from cloud servers also *** researchers worked on different algorithms to protect cloud data from replay *** of the papers used a technique that simultaneously detects a full-message and partial-message replay *** study presents the development of a TKN(Text,Key and Name)cryptographic algorithm aimed at protecting data from replay *** program employs distinct ways to encrypt plain text[P],a user-defined Key[K],and a Secret Code[N].The novelty of the TKN cryptographic algorithm is that the bit value of each text is linked to another value with the help of the proposed algorithm,and the length of the cipher text obtained is twice the length of the original *** the scenario that an attacker executes a replay attack on the cloud server,engages in cryptanalysis,or manipulates any data,it will result in automated modification of all associated values inside the *** mechanism has the benefit of enhancing the detectability of replay ***,the attacker cannot access data not included in any of the papers,regardless of how effective the attack strategy *** the end of paper,the proposed algorithm’s novelty will be compared with different algorithms,and it will be discussed how far the proposed algorithm is better than all other algorithms.
