In this paper, a new meta-heuristic optimization algorithm called Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) is applied to offshore crane design. An offshore crane is a pedestal-mounted elevating and rotating lifting device used to transfer materials or personnel to or from marine vessels, barges and structures whereby the load can be moved horizontally in one or more directions and vertically. Designing and building offshore cranes is a very complex process. It depends on the configuration of a large set of design parameters and is characterized by increased workability and functionality for the owner and cost effectiveness in the total cost of ownership. In an attempt to reduce time and cost involved in the design process, this paper defines a best set of design parameters and uses GWO for the automatic configuration of this set of parameters in a manner that increases the maximum safe working load of the crane and reduces its total weight. Results are verified by a comparative study with other Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs). Results show that the GWO algorithm is able to provide very competitive results compared to these well-known meta-heuristics.

Gastric cancer is the second leading cause of cancer‐related deaths worldwide, and the major hurdle in biomedical image analysis is the determination of the cancer extent. This assignment has high clinical relevance and would generally require vast microscopic assessment by pathologists. Recent advances in deep learning have produced inspiring results on biomedical image segmentation, while its outcome is reliant on comprehensive annotation. This requires plenty of labor costs, for the ground truth must be annotated meticulously by pathologists. In this paper, a reiterative learning framework was presented to train our network on partial annotated biomedical images, and superior performance was achieved without any pre‐trained or further manual annotation. We eliminate the boundary error of patch‐based model through our overlapped region forecast algorithm. Through these advisable methods, a mean intersection over union coefficient (IOU) of 0.883 and mean accuracy of 91.09% on the partial labeled dataset was achieved, which made us win the 2017 China Big Data & Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitions1. In this paper, we introduced a searching platform called BCISearch, a web-portal for the collection of molecular information linked to breast cancer using text mining technology including two types of information: static and dynamic information, involving with six categories entities and their relationships: protein, DNA, RNA, Cell-type, Cell-line, Virus. BCISearch could search 248997 Proteins, 71358 DNA, 7724 RNA, 58891 Cell-line, 871 Virus, 31698 Cell-type. The BCISearch Experimental approach is promising for develop biomedical text mining technology. The BCISearch would assist researcher to understand breast cancer etiology in genetic factors. The searching platform is available at http://210.28.186.168:8080/BCISearch.

In dealing with the problem of modelling DNA recombination, the operation of splicing on linear and circular strings of symbols was introduced. Inspired by splicing on circular strings, the operation of flat splicing on a pair of strings (u, v) was considered. This operation involves "cutting" u at a specified position and "inserting" v into it, with v having a pre-specified prefix as well as suffix defined by a flat splicing rule. In this work, we consider a well-known technique in formal language theory, known as "matrix of rules", and introduce matrix of flat splicing rules and thus define matrix flat splicing system (MFSS). Some results on the language generative power of MFSS are provided. An application of MFSS in the generation of chain code pictures is also pointed out. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2016.

In recent years, methods from network science are gaining rapidly interest in economics and finance. A reason for this is that in a globalized world the interconnectedness among economic and financial entities are crucial to understand and networks provide a natural framework for representing and studying such systems. In this paper, we are surveying the use of networks and network-based methods for studying economy related questions. We start with a brief overview of graph theory and basic definitions. Then we discuss descriptive network measures and network complexity measures for quantifying structural properties of economic networks. Picture array generation using flat splicing operation

The operation of splicing on words was introduced by Tom Head while proposing a theoretical model of DNA recombination. Subsequent investigations on splicing on linear and circular strings of symbols have resulted in a number of theoretical properties. A different kind of splicing on two words, referred to as flat splicing, has been considered recently. This operation is extended to flat splicing on picture arrays, thus defining a new model of generation of digitized pictures, which is called as array flat splicing system (AFS). Results on the generative power of AFS in comparison with certain well-known picture array defining models and certain non-closure results are obtained. Array P systems with parallel rewriting and tables of context-free rules

The two areas of picture languages and membrane computing were linked by array-rewriting P system in which array objects and context-free array-rewriting rules are used in order to generate picture languages. While rewriting arrays in the array-rewriting P system is in a sequential manner, parallel array P system (PAP) involves rewriting of arrays in the regions in parallel in order to generate picture languages. A variant of PAP, known as tabled array P system (TPAP), uses sets of context-free array-rewriting rules, called tables of rules. The reaction-diffusion neural network is often described by semilinear diffusion partial differential equation (PDE). This article focuses on the asymptotical synchronization and synchronization for coupled reaction-diffusion neural networks with mixed delays (that is, discrete and infinite distributed delays) and Dirichlet boundary condition. First, using the Lyapunov–Krasoviskii functional scheme, the sufficient condition is obtained for the asymptotical synchronization of coupled semilinear diffusion PDEs with mixed time-delays and this condition is represented by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which is easy to be solved. Then the robust synchronization is considered in temporal-spatial domain for the coupled semilinear diffusion PDEs with mixed delays and external disturbances. In terms of the technique of completing squares, the sufficient condition is obtained for the robust synchronization. Finally, a numerical example of coupled semilinear diffusion PDEs with mixed time-delays is given to illustrate the correctness of the obtained results. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Application of multi-gene genetic programming based on separable functional network for landslide displacement prediction

Complexity of analysis of landslide hazard is due to uncertainty. In this study, a novel approach multi-gene genetic programming based on separable functional network (MGGPSFN) is presented for predicting landslide displacement. Moreover, Pearson's cross-correlation coefficients and mutual information are adopted to look for the potential input variables for a forecast model in the paper. The performance of new model is verified through one case study in Baishuihe landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir in China. In addition, we compared it with two methods, back-propagation neural network and radial basis function, and MGGPSFN got the best results in the same measurements.

Cell dynamics and motion stages are very important issues in the biological cell investigation. in this novel method, we propose a novel method based on Kalman filter and second momentum for tracking cells on Sequential Microscopic Images. In proposed manner at first, we select a cell and cut covering rectangle. in the next step, we predict rectangle center of the cell in Next frame based on a modeling of velocity-acceleration using Kalman filter. The rectangle with triple covering area of previous cell rectangle and predicting center by Kalman filter is considered as a searching area. So, if all objects in the search areas have second momentum error less than threshold, it is selected as a chosen cell and we continue this process till all cells are track. OKF (optimized Kalman filter) algorithm uses second momentum for detecting cells because;value of second momentum doesn't change with rotating cells or changing size. OKF method removes cell after tracking in every frame. So, tracking has an acceptable and excellent precision for tracking in another cell. Also, the algorithm finds cells between frames by changing the reference frame and removing were tracked cells. Performance results of OKF show the proposed method is very admissible, effective method and the work shows great assistance for the cell Cytoplasm tracking. Finally, cells tracking with 98.17% accuracy were achieved by using OKF algorithm.
