data augmentation effectively expands feature distribution in time series classification, enhancing downstream task performance. However, existing techniques often fail to maintain semantic consistency between augmented and original time series data, causing label noise and thereby degrading downstream task performance. We argue that data augmentation should preserve time series semantic consistency and expand the non-semantic information space. In this paper, we reformulate data augmentation as a semantic path planning problem between original data and augmented data, modeled as a Markov Decision Process (MDP). We propose a reinforcement learning-based algorithm (RL) named FreqSYN, where the action space is defined by a set of learnable Gaussian kernels that perturbs the frequency domain of the original data to generate augmented samples. The confidence coefficients of augmented data in semantically relevant classification tasks are used as a reward to iteratively refine the FreqSYN. Our method is validated across four datasets, achieving state-of-the-art performance, with a 2% improvement in F1 score over the SimPSI method. The Internet of Drones (IoD) extends the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles, enabling them to participate in a connected network. In IoD infrastructure, drones communicate not only among themselves but also with users and a control center. This interconnected communication framework holds promise for various applications, from collaborative decision-making to real-time data exchange. However, the expansion of communication in IoD also introduces new challenges, particularly in terms of security, privacy and authentication. Unfortunately, the current authentication protocols are inadequate in offering robust security features against various attacks in the IoD environment. To address these security issues and limitations, we proposed a secure protocol for the IoD environment using chaotic maps and hash functions. In addition, we also employed a physically unclonable function in the development of the proposed protocol. We assess the security of the protocol through both informal and formal security analysis. The formal security analysis is conducted through a widely used random or real (RoR) model. The informal analysis shows the rigorous security features against various attacks, such as masquerading, anonymity violation, and physical cloning attacks. Moreover, we compare the performance of the devised protocol with similar existing protocols across important performance parameters, such as communication overhead, computation overhead, and security features. The devised protocol provides a 67.86% and 17.80% reduction in computation and communication overheads, respectively, as compared to related protocols. The analysis demonstrates the proposed protocol's capacity to support secure communication in the IoD environment and satisfy desirable security attributes. © 2014 IEEE.

The application of deep learning techniques in the medical field,specifically for Atrial Fibrillation(AFib)detection through Electrocardiogram(ECG)signals,has witnessed significant *** and timely diagnosis increases the patient’s chances of ***,issues like overfitting and inconsistent accuracy across datasets remain *** a quest to address these challenges,a study presents two prominent deep learning architectures,ResNet-50 and DenseNet-121,to evaluate their effectiveness in AFib *** aim was to create a robust detection mechanism that consistently performs *** such as loss,accuracy,precision,sensitivity,and Area Under the Curve(AUC)were utilized for *** findings revealed that ResNet-50 surpassed DenseNet-121 in all evaluated *** demonstrated lower loss rate 0.0315 and 0.0305 superior accuracy of 98.77%and 98.88%,precision of 98.78%and 98.89%and sensitivity of 98.76%and 98.86%for training and validation,hinting at its advanced capability for AFib *** insights offer a substantial contribution to the existing literature on deep learning applications for AFib detection from ECG *** comparative performance data assists future researchers in selecting suitable deep-learning architectures for AFib ***,the outcomes of this study are anticipated to stimulate the development of more advanced and efficient ECG-based AFib detection methodologies,for more accurate and early detection of AFib,thereby fostering improved patient care and outcomes.

Extracting parameters accurately and effectively from solar photovoltaic (PV) models is crucial for detailed simulation, evaluation, and management of PV systems. Although there has been an increase in the development of analytical, numerical, and metaheuristic methods targeting this task, accurately determining these parameters continues to be a significant challenge. This study focuses on applying Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for the extraction of key parameters of RTC France solar cells, a critical step towards enhancing PV system efficiency and reliability. Additionally, the PSO's performance is evaluated against other metaheuristic algorithms including Enhanced Chaotic JAYA (CJAYA), Performance-Guided JAYA (PGJAYA), and Enhanced Gradient-Based Optimizer (EGBO), underscoring the effectiveness of the proposed PSO-based approach. Utilizing MATLAB-SIMULINK, comprehensive analysis and results are presented, shedding light on the efficacy of PSO in addressing the intricacies of parameter extraction in PV systems. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Due to the rapid development of adaptive control and industrial automation science, the necessity of the boost converters is perceiving more and more, accordingly, designing a controller for these components which is dynamically characterized could be advantageous both theoretically and practically. Consequently, A machine learning-based controller using an artificial neural network (ANN) is designed, which is able to regulate the voltage of DC-DC Boost converters. In this paper, the primary controller is a linear quadratic regulator (LQR) based controller which is replaced by an ANN controller after generating training and testing data. After training the neural network, the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and an integral control action are used to minimize the system's overshoot and steady-state error, respectively. All in all, for the performance validation and making comparison accurately, the output voltage of a boost converter controlled by the optimized ANN model is simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink, which is conclusive that the new ANN controller can track the reference voltage properly. © 2022 IEEE.

High detail and fast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequences are highly demanded in clinical settings, as inadequate imaging information can lead to diagnostic difficulties. MR image super-resolution (SR) is a promising way to address this issue, but its performance is limited due to the practical difficulty of acquiring paired low- and high-resolution (LR and HR) images. Most existing methods generate these pairs by down-sampling HR images, a process that often fails to capture complex degradations and domain-specific variations. In this study, we propose a domain-distance adapted SR framework (DDASR), which includes two stages: the domain-distance adapted down-sampling network (DSN) and the GAN-based super-resolution network (SRN). The DSN incorporates characteristics from unpaired LR images during down-sampling process, enabling the generation of domain-adapted LR images. Additionally, we present a novel GAN with enhanced attention U-Net and multi-layer perceptual loss. The proposed approach yields visually convincing textures and successfully restores outdated MRI data from the ADNI1 dataset, outperforming state-of-the-art SR approaches in both perceptual and quantitative evaluations. The neuron doctrine defines the neuron as the basic unit of the nervous system, which drives the dynamic behavior of our organs. This has led to neurons becoming the focus of modern neuroscience research and to the rise of neurocomputing, in which we try to digitally simulate human behavior. The goal being to better understand the human nervous system and gain more control over neuron-related diseases, helping doctors establish faster and more reliable medical diagnoses. In this context, we aim to simulate eye diseases and vision problems by convolving input images using a new class of neural networks based on a variable structure model of neurons presented in [1]. In this work, we focus on recreating the common convolution filters as a first step. This is the first time in neurocomputing literature that dendritic neurons have been used for dynamic convolution kernels generation and eye diseases simulation. We start with a presentation of our upgrades to the model’s flexibility and accuracy. Then, we propose a novel kernel generator algorithm to convolve the input images. Finally, we show its promising results in creating the outline, pixelization, and night convolution kernels, as well as control some metrics, including brightness and data retention. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Due to the shortage of fossil fuels and their jeopardizing environmental effects, microgrids have gained popularity in the recent century since they make use of renewable energy sources. DC-DC boost converters have been applied in microgrids to satisfy Loads' needs. Although classic controllers have been used to control output voltage, they are usually not effective when the plant model changes. One such controller is model predictive control (MPC) which controls output based on predictions. As such, machine learning methods have been proposed to counter classic controllers' limitations. In this paper, a decision tree model is developed to control output voltage with the help of a Proportional Integral (PI) controller which is tuned by the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to remove the steady-state error. Required data for training the model is prepared by a DC-DC boost converter controlled by an MPC, then the tree model is trained and tested in MATLAB, after which it is implemented in the Simulink model previously controlled by the MPC. Finally, simulation results are provided as voltage reference and load change to show the system's reliability. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper introduces an innovative optimal control approach to achieve output tracking while incorporating H2-performance specifications in a specific class of nonlinear dynamics modeled by the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model (TSFM). The primary innovation lies in extending partial eigenstructure assignment to TSFM-based nonlinear systems within the framework of sliding mode control (SMC). We propose a two-step methodology for designing optimal sliding surface gains. Initially, optimal state feedback gains are computed for each rule consequence containing a linear subsystem, adhering to predetermined eigenvalues and satisfying H2-performance criteria. Subsequently, using a convex combination, the overall state feedback gain is calculated and utilized to design sliding matrix gains. The sliding matrix gains are then determined by strategically combining previously calculated state-feedback gains in a convex optimization problem. We reframe the output tracking strategy as a stabilization problem using a virtual control input and reformulate the optimization task concerning tracking state errors. This process yields state feedback gains, sliding gains, and the formulation of the virtual control input. The effectiveness of our approach is verified through comprehensive simulations, emphasizing its capability in addressing output tracking challenges within nonlinear systems. © 2013 IEEE.
