Election is a basic democratic tool that offers an official mechanism for the people to express their opinions in order to form a government by democratic means. Electronic voting has evolved into the most significant application of e-governance and e-democracy. Few countries have recently taken the opportunity to test and use electronic voting systems. Also, many countries expect that internet voting will become a reality during the next decade. In the conventional voting system, the electors authenticate themselves by displaying credentials;this move is open to the public and is validated by poll workers. During this authentication, they are manually checked before being eligible to vote. The standard system of voting is more costly and needs more human capital. Because of these factors, the whole world is heading toward the trend of e-voting. Electronic voting devices are supposed to be the answer to the shortages. A secure e-voting system must meet many criteria, including uniqueness, performance, fairness, stability, safety, authentication, and anonymity. Block-chain is a modern security solution, which is capable of securing e-voting system. Blockchain is distributed ledger. Each block contains only one transaction. Block chain provides security using cryptography and hashing. Blockchain provides a perfect infrastructure to provide secure e-voting ***. Blockchain along with smart contracts need hour to improvise an e-voting system. This paper presents a secure blockchain based framework for an e-electronic voting in Iraq. © 2022

Intuitionistic linear temporal logic (iLTL) has been studied since at least the 1990s, with renewed interest in the last decade. It enjoys natural semantics over intuitionistic Kripke frames equipped with an order-preserving function representing the temporal dynamics, known as expanding models. This leads to a logic that is known to be decidable but whose axiomatisation has long remained open. We propose an extension of iLTL with the co-implication connective of Heyting–Brouwer logic and call it bi-intuitionistic linear temporal logic (biLTL). We establish that this extension is still decidable for the class of expanding models. We moreover give a sound and complete Hilbert-style calculus for it, the first for any logic extending iLTL. As a corollary, the topological semantics for intuitionistic propositional logic cannot be extended to a topological semantics for Heyting–Brouwer logic, which thus establishes co-implication as a distinctive feature of the Kripke semantics for bi-intuitionistic logic. © 2024 Proceedings of the International Conference on Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. Deep neural networks (DNN) have reached impressive performance in computer vision, making them a natural choice for object detection problems in automated driving. However, DNNs used for object detection are known to be highly vulnerable to adversarial attacks. Even small changes to the input such as adding a customized noise pattern that remains invisible to the human eye, can stimulate silent prediction errors. In this study, we present a compositional simulation framework for testing the adversarial robustness of DNNs used in object detection. The current study used cutting-edge techniques to experimentally test the early diagnosis of diabetes via retinal scans. The goal was to enable effective disease prediction and management by facilitating quick and precise medical diagnostics. Three processes were involved in the development of a Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) diagnosis tool: feature extraction, feature reduction, and image classification. The research employed Apache Spark, a distributed computing framework, to manage large datasets and enhance the performance of the multilayer perceptron (MLP) model via hyperparameter tuning and cross validation. Utilizing resources more effectively and achieving faster training times were made possible by Apache Spark. To support data-driven decision-making, the study also emphasized the significance of distributed platforms for analyzing large amounts of real-time diabetic data. To produce discriminative features for classification, the VGG16 architecture was employed for feature extraction. In the last epoch, the MLP model performed remarkably well, with an accuracy of 97%. The study also underlined the value of distributed platforms for data-driven decision-making by analyzing substantial volumes of real-time diabetes data. © 2024 IEEE.

VeGaS: Video Gaussian Splatting

Implicit Neural Representations (INRs) employ neural networks to approximate discrete data as continuous functions. In the context of video data, such models can be utilized to transform the coordinates of pixel locations along with frame occurrence times (or indices) into RGB color values. Although INRs facilitate effective compression, they are unsuitable for editing purposes. One potential solution is to use a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) based model, such as the Video Gaussian Representation (VGR), which is capable of encoding video as a multitude of 3D Gaussians and is applicable for numerous video processing operations, including editing. Nevertheless, in this case, the capacity for modification is constrained to a limited set of basic transformations. To address this issue, we introduce the Video Gaussian Splatting (VeGaS) model, which enables realistic modifications of video data. To construct VeGaS, we propose a novel family of Folded-Gaussian distributions designed to capture nonlinear dynamics in a video stream and model consecutive frames by 2D Gaussians obtained as respective conditional distributions. Our experiments demonstrate that VeGaS outperforms state-of-the-art solutions in frame reconstruction tasks and allows realistic modifications of video data. A modification of the variational iteration method with a genetic algorithm is presented for the numerical results of the nonlinear partial differential equations. Therefore, a new correction function through an auxiliary parameter (p) for making sure the convergence of the standard method and improved results by using genetic techniques will be introduced. The standard variational iteration method is applied first before improving it. This method was studied to solve numerically the system of two-dimensional reaction-diffusion brusselatorequations. Its effectiveness and high-order precision have been demonstrated through numerical experiments. The algorithm converges readily, yields correct solutions and better accuracy in comparison with other previous methods have been noticed. Moreover, with greater accuracy, the approach can be used for a variety of linear and nonlinear differential equations. © 2022 IEEE.

The implementation of local micro smart grids has become relevant for many people and poses a milestone on the way to a more sustainable future via efficient usage of locally generated renewable energy. Building a micro smart grid requires integration of decentralized production capabilities, public and private charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, as well as smart control mechanisms to respond to energy demand in real-time. Due to the variability and individuality of such systems, there is as yet no codified way to set them up. Although implementation and operation may seem simple, some pitfalls need to be considered when theory meets reality. In this research paper, we would like to share our experiences from building a micro smart grid in a real-world scenario and describe some of our faulty assumptions and unforeseen technical challenges we encountered during the process. This article is intended to serve in particular as a guide for anyone planning to build a micro smart grid, helping them to avoid annoying and potentially costly mistakes right from the start by planning ahead. In this way, it is especially meant to serve as a thought-provoker and an additional checklist. © 2022 IEEE.

QUANTUM ANNEALING AND TENSOR NETWORKS: A POWERFUL COMBINATION TO SOLVE OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS

Quantum computing has long promised to revolutionize the way we solve complex problems. At the same time, tensor networks are widely used across various fields due to their computational efficiency and capacity to represent intricate systems. While both technologies can address similar problems, the primary aim of this thesis is not to compare them. Such comparison would be unfair, as quantum devices are still in an early stage, whereas tensor network algorithms represent the state-of-the-art in quantum simulation. Instead, we explore a potential synergy between these technologies, focusing on how two flagship algorithms from each paradigm, the Density Matrix Renormalization Group (DMRG) and quantum annealing, might collaborate in the future. Furthermore, a significant challenge in the DMRG algorithm is identifying an appropriate tensor network representation for the quantum system under study. The representation commonly used is called Matrix Product Operator (MPO), and it is notoriously difficult to obtain for certain systems. This thesis outlines an approach to this problem using finite automata, which we apply to construct the MPO for our case study. Finally, we present a practical application of this framework through the quadratic knapsack problem (QKP). Despite its apparent simplicity, the QKP is a fundamental problem in computer science with numerous practical applications. In addition to quantum annealing and the DMRG algorithm, we implement a dynamic programming approach to evaluate the quality of our results. Our results highlight the power of tensor networks and the potential of quantum annealing for solving optimization problems. Data coming from various sources present significant differences at the schema level, especially in case of relational and non-relational data sources. A common interface for representing database structure and operations in a conceptual manner, that can be used for both relational and non-relational databases could help users who are very accustomed to working with relational databases to overcome the challenges that appear in their interaction with non-relational databases. This paper presents a new approach based on conceptual graphs for representing relational database structure and queries, taking into account the visual representation methods for database structure and queries based on conceptual graphs available in the literature. This new approach focuses on maximizing the compatibility with the already available representation methods for non-relational databases. Representation methods based on conceptual graphs for insert, update and delete operations are also proposed in this paper. These representation methods could be easily implemented in database benchmarking frameworks or database client applications that offer a functionality somehow similar to Visual Query Systems, but with complete support for DML operations. This approach would also be useful for users who are not specialized in computer science, as it offers the possibility to interact with both relational and non-relational databases in a simple, visual manner. © 2022 IEEE.

RaySplats: Ray Tracing based Gaussian Splatting

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) is a process that enables the direct creation of 3D objects from 2D images. This representation offers numerous advantages, including rapid training and rendering. However, a significant limitation of 3DGS is the challenge of incorporating light and shadow reflections, primarily due to the utilization of rasterization rather than ray tracing for rendering. This paper introduces RaySplats, a model that employs ray-tracing based Gaussian Splatting. Rather than utilizing the projection of Gaussians, our method employs a ray-tracing mechanism, operating directly on Gaussian primitives represented by confidence ellipses with RGB colors. In practice, we compute the intersection between ellipses and rays to construct ray-tracing algorithms, facilitating the incorporation of meshes with Gaussian Splatting models and the addition of lights, shadows, and other related effects. https://***/KByrski/RaySplatting © 2025, CC BY.
